I own two 59 Convertibles you can see them in my videos. I bought them back in the 90s for under 20 grand. crazy nobody wanted these cars just 25 years ago and now people are pulling out rusted cans like this. God speed on your restoration
While back I would have agreed, but these things like all those horrible Chrysler models tend to grow on you Even if he leaves it with the patina of time this thing is a piece of art
I've been doing the same for over 30 years. Who cares what one does or the amount of money. If someone wants to restore it and possibly lose their ass ...🤷♂️ who cares...it's not your money. I say restore it or recondition it to a safe road worthy vehicle and just drive it. I have a crusty 63 GP all there and runs...don't drive, but runs. Just going to fix her up a bit. I'm mechanically inclined and can do all the work myself. Not restoring, but getting her presentable....and fast. It's amazing what some elbow grease and patience can do without spending a lot of money. Bring her back to the road brother. 👍
Brother, like I've told my two sons ! If u like/love the car every dollar is worth it ! They DONT nor ever will make these again ! 1 son has a 55 3100 pup & 68 mustang coupe both redone ! 2nd son 66 C10 & 68 C10 redone ! Worth it in my opinion ! Value goes up by the day ! 👍✌
I wish you good fortune on your endeavor. I love these classics and will one day have the $$ to buy one restored. I'd be after a 2dr hardtop as well. The Chevy Belairs are already up there in $$.
Extremely beautiful car when it is finished it will cost a lot of money and a lot of time but question is how deep are your pockets

Does it have inline 6 or small-block V8?
What kind of barn was this? If it had been kept outside it would be in better conditions...
I have been rebuilding cars for almost 40 years. I would not touch this car. At some point you will have to put a dollar amount for your time.
Been building myself that long. I know what it takes, yes time is worth something. But find me one fully restored for 40 to 50k I'll gladly go buy it.
Who can spend $60 to $80k to restore an old junk in this hyperinflationary Obiden economy?
Peehaps the most hideous model year ever.
Best looking car in 59
I bet you drive a Honda.
