the spear that you mention here 12:06 is an underwater weapon,.. u don't equip any underwater weapon yet, that's why you don't have any under water weapon skill. underwater weapon slot is different from the main weapon slot, the slot is on the bottom right below the accesory.
here's some tips for inventory, crafting item>deposit, consumable>use, trophy>sell to merchant or destroy, not used equipment>salvage
this 1:42:20 was a rift event, you just open the portal. after you break the rift shield, it become a portal an you can enter through the portal to fight the boss

Yeah, I was so bamboozled when it automatically swapped for me when I went underwater. Thank you though.

For inventory management, you resolve most encumbered problems by:
    - deposit all crafting materials with the button in the top-right of the inventory
    - press "sell junk" like you did while talking to a merchant
    - use consumables (like essence of luck, recipes, etc)
    - sell or salvage (with salvage kits given from level-up rewards or merchants) everything that remains
Remember to right-click > unlock skin (or add to wardrobe in some cases) before selling or destroying, so you can change your appearance to that one in the future (even with alts) 😊

Since you are enjoying story, just so you know, dungeons "Story Mode" is tangent in some ways to the main story, and helps in understanding some NPCs relationships

Hi again. I decided to skip a bit, so less chance I tell you stuff you already know.
8:44 You can teleport to the starter zone of the other races if you want to see different biomes and fight different enemies. I personally like the sylvari, norn and asura starter zones the most.
13:00 I am holding back with the inventory management tips because others already gave you advice. But besides the consuming and salvaging, it is also important to know which items to destroy or sell. Stuff that is labeled as "Trophy" in the tool tip usually relate to hearts or events. Unless it is an event you want to repeat in the next few minutes, it is probably best to destroy it. Old inventory bags (especially the 4 slot ones) can be sold. Crafting material can always be deposited in your material tab. If you don't want to do crafting, you can also sell it using the trading post to other players. Selling it to a merchant is throwing money out of the window and the only worse ting is just straight up destroying it. I also spotted some gathering tools in your inventory. No matter if you bother gathering materials, equiping them will also free some inventory slots.
14:45 Has anyone told you about action camera mode yet? You can assign a key to toggle that. This way you don't need to hold your mouse button to move your camera and your skills always aim towards a dot in the middle of your screen. If you need to use your mouse cursor you have to press a key in that mode. I t is not my style personally but some people prefer the action camera mode. And an MMO mouse is a great tool. Tried with a keypad before but couldn't really get used to it.
19:50 Hearts always have several ways to contribute to their completion. I already mentioned the "/wiki" command, but this does not only work for items, it also works for a lot of other stuff. In this case "/wiki Aid Fort Salma" should take you to the wiki page regarding this heart. On that page you will find an outline for the area of the heart and a breakdown of the activities and how they contribute:
Defeat Centaurs - 3% heart progress
Pour water from buckets onto fires - 3% heart progress
Pick up Unexploded Shots - 5% heart progress
Disarm spike traps - 3% heart progress
20:40 These skills only work on other players who are transformed. Just some fun stuff to do when in a city, not useful in actual combat.
22:40 Not sure if someone already explained these numbers to you. Level 80 is max level in this game, but after that you can work on "masteries". To unlock a single mastery you need to spend 1 to 12 mastery points depending on the exact mastery. The number displayed there is the total number of mastery points spend. It is a little bit like in ESO, if you are familiar with that system over there, but instead of tiny modifications to combat skills and attributes, masteries in GW2 focus on non combat stuff like upgrading you mount or gliding abilities.
25:10 When in combat, your movement gets slowed down (unless you got a movement buff)
29:00 THESE centaurs would have contributed to the heart. But luck with the timing of that event.
    33:10 Beware the catapults! lol
35:25 When you are in a party, you can see the progress on these hearts of your party members next to their portraits on the left side. Hover over the icon to see the actual percentage.
39:50 / 41:00 Back when the game was released this particular area looked different and got changed during the course of living world season 1 for lore reason. So even though you have no clue what this is about, questing in this particular area is kind of a spoiler.
In general Living World Season 1 was a pretty original concept where they actually change the maps and added some stuff that was only available while the specific episode of the living world was active. If you missed it, it was either gone and maybe changed to an "aftermath state". This area is such an aftermath state. Bad thing was that it was easy to miss that content and people joining the game way later were unable to experience the story going on there. So this concept - while new and interesting - had major flaws and they dropped that concept with living world season 2. From that season on the additional content stayed forever. But up until last year the living world season 1 was unavailable in game and left a big story gap that needed to be filled with youtube videos and a way to short ingame summary. Only last year they restored living world season 1 and transformed it to the usual episodic format they are using today - with some upgrades and changes in order to bring the content up to current standards.
One of the last things you will be able to unlock your first strike mission, which is GW2 version of FF14s trials. This is the type of endgame group content GW2 is currently using the most, since the actual raiding community is only a fraction of the player base while these strikes are much more approachable.
44:30 You can not change your equipment while in combat. BUT you can switch your weapons with circumflex in combat. If you have two one-handed items, you can also just one other one handed item in your main or off hand and the other hand remains. This way you could switch between having a shield and a spin-to-win, for example.
45:05 Well, you died and I am off for today. Maybe more later :)

56:30 Make it a habit to unlock the nearby waypoint first before teleporting elsewhere. Way easier to come back when you need to this way.
1:00:00 This is a group event. And by "group" the game means 3+ people. Experienced players may be able to handle it, but it still usually takes longer than when actually doing it in a group. So, the enemies are scaled so you can fight them when in a group of 3. In addition to that, the toxic alliance events were added later and they are meant to be harder than the usual stuff. Like the ruins from earlier, it is connected to living world season 1.
You were meant to bring the kegs to that giant plant in the center of the AoE ring.
1:06:50 Yes, pretty much everything you can do gives XP: Exploration, killing mobs, doing hearts and events, crafting, gathering, reviving. It is actually possible to reach max level without even killing a single mob, even though it is not the easiest and fastest way.
1:11:00 Well, you can grind without any other objectives. But that is about one of the slowest way to get to max level. Best things to do in order to get experience fast are:
      - Make sure you have experience boosts (food) and optionally all other easy boosts up.
      - Do events, especiallly when they are in a heart area.
      - Kill yellow mobs as well. They may not be aggressive, but they usuall grant bonus xp.
      - Follow the adventure guide. The achievements are basically massive XP boosts.
Little shorter this time. Need to check if I can catch you on twitch.

I'm seeing a clear difference between the tactics in FFXiV and GW2. The ABC tactic (always be casting) thing or using stuff off cooldown is not your friend in GW2. Unless it's a boon, you really need to save certain skills for when you need them, particularly, skills like your heal.

I dont think anyone has pointed out free accounts have about half as much bag space as normal accounts. So the inventory problems are gonna be worse. The game was originally buy to play with zero f2p options.
