It may not be the case but some of my family members, myself included can't take even a sip of any 'foreign' water without getting really dodgy tummy problems. Even water in our own country, but in a different region ! Hope Mr Grack is feeling better and you get to show him the NYC sights soon xx

This happened to me- my mom and I had a big trip in NYC. We only made it through the first night before it got horribly sick with a stomach bug. She had a horrible sense of direction but she safely made it across the street from the hotel and back to get me soup from a deli 😂 we laugh about it now, me eating soup in the bathtub on our NY trip!
Currently in Japan, been travelling for 2 weeks already so grateful for those adventures but I fell down temple stairs and limping, so very restricted to around the hostel 😢 no refund for the activities as well.
I think these are the best touristy vlogs I've seen. Even though I live here, your excitement is infectious. Glad to hear your husband is feeling better.
I got soo sick after coming back from my honeymoon and we even had to call an ambulance the next day we returned as i couldn't stand up without passing out.. because myself and my hubby ate the same food on the way home i know it wasn't food poisoning. the hospital believes I caught a viral bug on the plane. xx the flight may have well given him a gross bug! x

The wax candy goes waayyyy back in the USA. I had them at a kid in the 70s. Not very satisfying as candy should be but definitely a novelty! 😂

Gosh, when I was a kid, the wax bottles were a big deal. Plus Pixie Stix, which were just flavored sugar in a paper straw, and was lips, which you could actually chew when you got done playing with them, not swallow, but chew.
I meant to type WAX lips.

I've been sick on holiday and it's no picnic, but there are worst things than sleeping it off in a comfy hotel bed. Sorry Mr. Grack didn't get the whole New York experience ....
I was just there (transit overnight flying back from Rome to Oregon) last week, we got in one afternoon and we didn't have to board our flight until 7 PM the next day, so we were going to take a taxi from the JFK-area hotel down the One World Trade ... but it was EIGHTY DOLLARS ONE WAY!!!! We ended up deciding not ....
The last time I "transited through" New York I had 4 days built in after a cruise ... but I ended up getting COVID on the cruise so I spent the 4 days quarantining in my Chinatown hotel enjoying Uber Eats and my lovely hotel room. It's a good thing the Kindle was filled up.
I have YET to get out and see much in NYC .... of course, I DO live in the USA, so I just need to schedule a trip ...
I’m also going through a baseball hat phase. It’s been a while since I’ve worn them recently but I really like them right now. Hope Mr Grack had a good time!

Hey Grace, just Curious if you would consider trying to make and taste teste a Recipe for Kulfir it is an Indian alternative to Ice-cream though more dense as a Custard Frozen dessert I think it also includes herbs, Spices so sort of a frozen savoury dessert hybrid!!!
The supermarkets in Australia have just gotten just got Kulfir in! Want to try so bad but so expensive 😢
I loooove NYC and love seeing it through your eyes especially you getting really excited at the random American things in CVS, but I’d also love to see grack take other US cities. San Francisco would be great for you I think. Orlando for Disney would be perfect of course too. But also somewhere more classic “American” like Texas would be funny

Maybe they were travel sick :( once you're on the plane if you're feeling sick & don't have anti-emetics there's not a lot you can do unfortunately.
Apart for they happily shared they had the norovirus once we had taken off! Travel sickness cannot be helped and wouldn’t make the entire flight ill

I love that you think the wax bottles are innovative, they were around when I was a kid(60 years ago). I hope, on your next trip to NYC, that you get to visit The Carnegie Deli, the sandwiches are beyond huge, I always got chicken soup with kreplach (Jewish meat filled dumpling's) so I would have room for cheesecake.

I was in New York about two weeks ago and I think I got food poisoning or something the last day and it carried over for another three days when I got home. So I know how he feels

I like New York. Mostly because if I’m there it means I’m almost home to the Uk as that’s where the ship leaves from. (I live in California)
