God I hate it when vacations and quality time with the stupid loving family get in the way of knob twiddling. But seriously dude this is awesome regardless of the fact it was made using less the $300 of gear.
I purchased a volca modular a few days ago on a whim, after selling my electribe stuff 10+ years ago, and have been flat out watching volca videos while waiting for it to arrive. This is just so impressive, a full and proper performance, all dreamy and intense like bodzin or something. If I could do that thing from the matrix, how he sticks a cord in his head then goes "I know kung-foo", I'd use it to absorb this understanding of that gear. Then I'd need to convince my wife to let me buy two more volcas... probably a less realistic goal than matrix style instant learning. Anyway, fucking beautiful.
What are those power cables? I found some power adapters from eBay but they're a bit bulky. I really like that yours are right angled. Also curious, if I fiddle with the power adapter the volca's can turn off pretty easy, I assumed it was due to the power connection (hopefully not on the inside of the device!), but I'd like to hear if moving your cable back/forth/side to side cuts power. Thanks, and good jams!
Hi again ! Thanks So much ! I see now that i don't need, first, to buy again a volca Keys. Tomorrow i will buy the nts 1 😃 other question : here, as an effect, are you using, too, nts1, or another kind of Reverb? 😃 Thanks So much ! My dream would be to make Berlin hard dark techno, maybe, i see that, working hard with my volca bass, i could do it, not shure, but, not impossible. ... 😃
I use a couple of effect apps. there are a lot out there. My favorite is the blackhole reverb. But there is another app i recommended the name is turnado. its a live 4 X/Y Pads effect panel Check it out. And don't forget: You need an Audio Interface for the Ipad and the Camera Adapter to connect it. and you nee AUM to bring all together.
Amazing sound! 🙌 Just one question: how do you connect the two machines? Is the Drum the master and the bass the slave? Where have you connected the output (I guess phone out) to? Is it connected to a PC through an audio device ? Thanks for the reply! And continue with these cool productions!!
Hey Gian Luca. Thanks for your comment and the questions. In the setup the bass in the master and the drum the slave. Both audio outputs are leading to an Behringer mixer and the master signal goes to the Roland go mixer pro which is my main recording tool in combination with my Xiaomi redmi 9 pro.. check out the link in the description to the video "how do I record my jams". Have a nice day.
Thank you for showing me what they are capable of. Have a Volca Bass on the way! Already enjoy my Keys very much. And am lucky enough to have a Monologue to. Much fun. Really looking forward to the Bass. 👍👍👍
One thing I love about the Volca series is you can record beats and sounds on the fly without all the steps as with my Behringer TD-3, even though I still messing with it. Now all I gotta get is the V- FM ,the V- MIX, and the V-SAMPLE 2.
Great vid!! Question: I have the volca mix, with the kick and bass connected to it and I want to add the arturia drumbrute impact to that setup. How can I do this? Thanks.
I really like the minimal setup, and you put a lot of work into it. It’s the vacation after the vacation. Sounds great! I usually have some music apps on my phone so if I’m away from my instruments I can still make sketches of ideas.
More than anything else I am in awe of your mastery of the sequencer. I can get mine to make the same noises, but I totally don't grok building and altering patterns on the fly.

Awesome jamming! 😃👍🏻 How do you connect the reverb? I am looking into a reverb/delay device. I have Volca Bass, Volca Sample and yesterday I got the Volca FM. I connect all to my 5 channel Numark mixer. How can I connect more than one Volca with reverb/delay? Any recommendations? I need something to add delay and maybe reverb. I have heard about a Valhalla delay, but I think that is a software thing?
Yeap Valhalla is for DAW Users. To connect Delay or Reverb you have to use a mixer with FX Send and Return. Behringer sells Mixers with this function under 70 EUR. Most of them only have 1 port for FX. My Behringer 1622 USB has two FX send so I can use daylay + reverb and can activate that where ever its needed.
Hey Donald thank you for your feedback. Yes, it's no secret that I use the specular reverb v3 in my jams. In most of my videos I mention it in the description.. but unfortunately I miss to tell it some times.
I think the bass is my favorite instrument right now, but seldom do I see it played fully like you do here. I also like the snare. The drum is actually really easy to sound boring and stock. I get tired of the ”normal” volca drum sound. But the snare here is good. Reverb turns the bass into something amazing. Maybe it's the NTS-1 reverb? But if it was, I would switch over to a bitcrusher at some point in a jam.
Hey Jevo, thanks for your feedback. To be honest: I dont like bitcrusher, dont know why. But yes you might be right to recomment it in this context. Thank you. Volca Bass, what should I say?
