Hotel California with a Latin groove and a fantastic singer like Rolf?! YES PLEASE! He did a wonderful job, and I HAVE to give tremendous applause to the house band - so versatile and insanely talented to be able to adapt & adopt so many styles, and with perfection! Just excellent!
The last two minutes of this performance are one of the most genuinely enjoyable and uplifting things I've ever seen online. A group of people who love music, and who enjoy each other's company, playing around with making music together, just because it's fun. This is almost worth all the garbage the rest of UA-cam exposes me to.

In the Netherlands we've had the belgians Milow and Belle Perez join. And Floor jansen did a series in Germany.

I feel the need to react to all the whiners in here who display their disappointment to the fact that so few Nightwish - or Floor - songs were performed. If you want to criticize the formula of a tv show and blame the performers for it, you are WAY out of your league! Let me explain again for all of you who still don't get it: the goal of the show is that the singers EITHER perform each other's songs OR a song from the guest of honor's wishlist. A wishlist made known to each and everyone of them months before the show aired, by the way. Even Floor's performance of Vilja Lied to Henk Poort was not from Henk's repertoire but from Henk's wishlist. So could you please get over your prejudices and be fair to all performers. They contributed to a hell of a show this time; each and everyone. It was a rollercoaster of emotions and your comments are totally unfair.

Well Said, however this difference between floor choosing Vilja Lied and Rolf choosing Hotel California, is that Floor has chosen songs that are outside her comfort zone. the amount of practice and effort she has put in to the songs is beyond exceptional. and time and time again she blows us away . Hotel California as a easy out, a safe song. Floor is extremely humble and the talent to do what she does is beyond some of these singers. I wouldn't be surprised if floor put some easy karaoke songs on that list to ease the other singers anxiety. It would have just been nice to see more of the singers put the same amount of effort in to it as floor has for them.
That was great - it's pretty difficult to bring something new to a song that's so well-known, but he totally owned it AND showed it respect: the perfect balance.
Really loved this performance!! Rolf seems like a very passionate and emotional man, and it shows when he performs and reacts to the other singers. He also seems to adore Floor.

If you watch Floor while he sings this song to HER, it is EXACTLY what she wanted to hear. She gave as much if not MORE reaction to him singing to her as she did she sang to him. This was fantasic and everyone of them up there were rocking this out. So very good. So they DIDN'T do Nightwish songs.. Ok, But that is NOT what it is about, enjoy this for what it is. Rolf for president! His voice is great for this song, and i love how he picked something completely out of the box. Most singers pick songs to draw tears, he picked a song to build a party, and hotel california became from a place of misery to i want to book there for the next week.
Rolf's great singing and delight with the song, but the outstanding surprise was the band and their arrangement. Brought such joy and fun version, I cried in happiness. @@cypherredux2771 to clear something. In this program you can cover the artist or you can pick up a song that have some meaning to the artist (this week it is Floor). The Eagles, Sting and Simon & Garfunkel were artists that she heard in her youth and had a special meaning to her. But I agree that it would be even more nicer to make a version of a song that is sung by the artist who is sitting on the chair. This week I have to give Samantha all the credits, normally she is a Dutch Folk singer, but she made a Dutch version of a Nightwish song, which isn't easy (we use longer verbs, so the risk to loose some of message to fit on the music is huge). So a big hat off to her.
I like this version, the more and more I listen to it. I am big fan of jamaica rhythms and songs and this has very nice vibe of it! Great version! This whole show is so amasing! But my heart beats faster when Floor presents itself ... it looks like a hurricane devastating me! awesome job! when i heard the acoustic version of this from the Eagles, and the guy played the guitar solo with a Spanish twist, i loved it almost as much as the original version. very nice hearing it with the full on latin treatment. everyone on this season was terrific.
Those musicians are amazing!! The bassist, on this particular song, has nailed it. Killing it.. And I can't get enough of those Trumpet and Saxophone duet..That's so dope...I never imagined that you can perform that duet with these kind of instruments. Hats off to all the musicians and the artists..

This song just keep getting better and better the more i listen to it, and i loved it from the first moment i saw/heard it on this show itself... I adore that guy, he's such an entertainer, and that brass section.... perfect! I love the original, but this, for me, personal opinion, stands tall next to the original. If i have to point out one thing that is not so good, it has to be the length of this cover, its way to short, i want this int he full long version, like the original. Rolf is born to be on stage, and i am very happy to have gotten to know (about) him thnx to Beste Zangers, because i would never have discovered him on my own accord. This song, this cover, it makes me happy, it makes me feel warm inside (or is that the tequila?) Good .. no GREAT job Rolf... truly a wonderful cover that i play more now, than the original.. (for the time being, but this cover will remain up there for sure)
They cannot do 6 or 7 minute songs because of the time limit of the episode and to give all the artists the same amount of time on stage. That's just the way it is, but maybe he will do a longer version one day, because this uplifting style definitely deserves that!

I actually can't always listen to this song but I really enjoyed this version! It's a lot of fun to watch him in this show^^ In general to see artists I never knew before. I only came here for Floor lol but I do enjoy getting to see all the others^^ And with Rolf you can really see each week how much he loves music. I really love seeing artists be like that.
For your information. Show is now for the 12th season on TV. So if you are in for more surprises. The first title of this show was "De Beste Zangers van Nederland" and after changing the format a bit (no managers or partners accompanying the artists) the name changed into Beste Zangers. And with that format you get what you just saw....... A great atmosphere with good music and singers.

If you want to learn more. This is the 12th season. In the beginning the name was De Beste Zangers van Nederland, but they had to change the format a bit (now there are no partners or managers with the artists) so now the atmosphere is relaxed and good between the crew/band and artists. And then you get this result. Enjoy it.
I came to this program because of Floor, but I've found a bunch more crazy talented singers! Rolf is amazing with this (and so is the house band!) Wish we had programs like this here in Canada. Such a fun and entertaining show. Everything here is a competition - why can't we just enjoy the talents of these people.

I actually can't always listen to this song but I really enjoyed this version! It's a lot of fun to watch him in this show^^ In general to see artists I never knew before. I only came here for Floor lol but I do enjoy getting to see all the others^^ And with Rolf you can really see each week how much he loves music. I really love seeing artists be like that.
For your information. Show is now for the 12th season on TV. So if you are in for more surprises. The first title of this show was "De Beste Zangers van Nederland" and after changing the format a bit (no managers or partners accompanying the artists) the name changed into Beste Zangers. And with that format you get what you just saw....... A great atmosphere with good music and singers.

We have the same show in Germany under a different title but we always have artists on there which are in every other show anyway.. the most surprising was a rapper and last season the singer from Beyond the Black. Never watched that show tbh.. but it's really beloved and my grandma watches it I think lol

Year before, opera- and musical singer as duo to sing Barcelona. But Henk Poort made statement which is so true. MUSIC IS GOOD WHEN MUSIC IS GOOD. PERIOD. In every language, every music style. I came to this program because of Floor, but I've found a bunch more crazy talented singers! Rolf is amazing with this (and so is the house band!) Wish we had programs like this here in Canada. Such a fun and entertaining show. Everything here is a competition - why can't we just enjoy the talents of these people.

De serie loopt al 13 jaar, dit jaar meegerekend, in de eerste jaren was de opzet wel iets anders. Vanaf 2016 is het format zoals nu. Het programma krijgt jammer genoeg niet erkenning die het verdient. Ik denk dat het misschien wel het beste muziek programma ter wereld is en het wordt wereldwijd gewaardeerd ga maar eens rondkijken op dit kanaal naar de commentaren. Veel plezier.
