Used your video for similar problem on my Karoq. Worked great! Thanks for doing all the hard trial and error. For starters, I would never have worked out the removal of the spring-loaded end cap. I hadn't realised that end arrangements would be different and that you can only retension from one end - my roller blind knowledge not up to scratch. On the Karoq the tensioning 'key' is in the nearside (left) end and fortunately I opened this end. I tensioned with 20 turns. I get lifted off my feet when the cover reals in!
Cheers for that. All I would add is that it’s worth taking the other end off as well because when you come to slotting it back in, it’s a lot easier to get your fingers in to guide it over the pin things at the other end. Don’t know how many turns I did - just did it to the point where it suddenly gets a lot stiffer and then a few more.
I saved meself a couple of hundred quid right now too😂. I wasn't quite sure about how much a full turn was. I did a 360 using the two long clips as a reference as 1. It worked 😂. Thank you, Sir.
Many thanks, I followed your method and it worked!! It took several goes, as I had trouble locating the "other" end in it's housing. I needed a third hand. In the end 28 turns worked well. Inspite of you saying "don't forget the spring" I forgot the spring...
With your video help I just repaired myself, thank you so much. It was easier to open both ends so you can drag more pole out to twist, when it gets tighter and its start to pull step on the cover.
Maybe I'm being a bit thick, but can you tell me how to remove the damn thing in the first place? I can't see any screws or anything but trying to lift of out, it feels stuck and like any more force will break something. Thanks.
You saved me from buying a new one. Did 35 turns, comes out better than new. Thanks a lot! ❤
Helpful video for my Karoq boot cover. Thanks.

Works fine now, thank you. Love the dog playing squeaky toy. Cheers.

This video was so helpful, I was able to repair the parcel shelf. Thank you so much!
thanks a lot man, two kitchen forks did the trick for me. Very useful video. Would have never found a way to do it by myself!
Thanks for the video it's exactly what I want looking for. 👍
This has just happened to my VRS load cover, so will attempt your method and report back soonish.👍
Nice tutorial! Can I do the opposite on this way? Seems like my cover is too fast and doesn't stop in the middle position where it should stop.
Thanks for a very informative detailed video sorted cheers
Thankyou. Will have a go tomorrow
I presume if you want to reduce the spring tension then yes you could. Mine doesn't have a stop half way function, so I'm Not sure.
Good job, just fixed mine👍
I going to try this right now!!

Out of the car?
@@SkodaOctyFixes lol yeah out of the boot, is it just brute force? Mine seems pretty stuck in
@@ReheatedDonutthe end caps are spring loaded and if you squeeze them to effectively try and make the whole thing less wide, then it just lifts out.
@@ReheatedDonutlook at the video at 7 minutes and 50 seconds and you'll see the spring loaded release section.
Thank you for save 200 euro! 💪
Can I just ask if you were the police officer guiding 2 bailiffs on the law???
Yeah that was me too lol. Summer 2015 that was, I left the police on January.
@@SkodaOctyFixes fantastic. The force lost a world class officer.
A fantastic demonstration on how to keep situation calm and come to a conclusion.
Thanks 👍👌
Skodas are shite everything falls apart or stops working defo lower level quality than the audi I had.
