A pixel seven owner, but I got to say the Samsung phones are much better when it comes to customizing there’s so much more you can do to change the phone to your liking.
It’s not just that , they are built a lot better , google have the perfect software but when it comes to the hard ware it’s usually poor and disappointing , I’d love to move to google but can’t due to that reason , I had a pixel 5 where I could move the screen away from the casing , had a pixel 7 pro and the battery and speakers were awful , screen very dull , the best pixel I had was the 4xl with the soli radar , they should have kept the 4xl as a base model and progressed from there , was a brilliant phone , that and the 2xl .
@@chrislongman8368 I had both the 2XL and 4XL, got a P7 pro and can agree the 4XL has a more solid foundation. Facial recognition was much better, in low lit areas, as well as if the user is wearing sunglasses! Google needs to beef up their hardware. But, I will say as a long time Samsung user, despite them having top tier hardware, I didn't care for their software and one UI. It seems you can't have the best of both worlds 😑
@@chrislongman8368 I will give you that Samsung has the best hardware when it comes to the android side but I I don’t think Google phones are crap. I have the pixel seven and I’ve had no problems with it at all zero now the modem and the processor aren’t as fast as the one means in the S 23, but, some of the special software features that come with a pixel are pretty cool actually so I don’t know I get your point but am I may go back to Samsung at some point iPad Samsung phones before and I really like them but right now I’m gonna stick with a Pixel

I had a look at Pixel 7 and thought that the screen was not very smooth compared to 120hz phones, including A54 or A34.
Pixel has it on form factor & AI yet I truly appreciate oneUI with Samsung it's my favorite skin of all. Out of these 2 I'd have to go with Google only for the form factor. I chose A54 between 6a in another video goes to show it's not the company but the phone for me at least.
I went with the A54. Carrier didn't offer Pixel 7. That said, I am completely happy with the A54. I love the fact I can put a 1TB Micro SD card in it, and that it is 100% fully feature compatible with my Samsung Galaxy 4 Watch. Namely, ECG support. Another deciding factor... If you intend to go with a Phone/Smart Watch combo, you're better off with Samsung anyway. Why? Because all the health features are not locked behind a subscription! If you go Pixel watch, prepare to spend money on a subscription, as it's based on Fitbit. For this very reason, I will not buy a Fitbit or Pixel watch!

Agreed. This is why I'm here and what I'm struggling with the most. It's like: Let's put this amazing camera on this thing. Let them take as many photos as they want. But not THAT many. 😅
Camera on the pixel is MILES ahead of the Samsung + the whole software is just better. Only thing thats bothers me is the slow charging and no extra space for photos other than their free cloud.
I like iPhones as phones…but Android for PMP (portable media players)…and iPads with Logi keyboards as laptops. Such is our complicated gadget world. Currently when I’m traveling I like the Pixel 3 XL for its classic HD TV aspect ratio; but it no longer gets security updates, so I really need to switch to a Pixel 5a or 6a even if the screen is quite a bit smaller and even if it is poorer for HDTV (albeit better for wide screen movies). Ever since Samsung started extending updates support (which varies by models) I’ve been thinking of an A14 for inflight videos and, if necessary, as an emergency backup to my iPhone if I drop or dunk it. What do you think of the A14?
the A14 will feel slower than the pixel phones in my opinion but i know some people like them because of the price
The issue with Pixel is availability in third world countries where the samsung dominates. As a long time samsung user it would be hard for me to switch to a pixel but I wouldn't mind it, but since Google HQ doesn't exist here, the closest option to getting a Pixel is Amazon, which with shipping and import fees has the pixel 200$ more than a54. So I got no choice but to go with the a54 as it's cheaper for me and I can find customer support easily without much trouble
yeah i know what you mean, i feel like we don't get a lot of phones in the United States that everyone else gets overseas in Europe and in other countries
@@FishBeeProductions I have bought the galaxy a54, but I do notice a bit of heating when using social media switching apps and having things in the background, I also noticed significant heating when charging. When I saw yt vids and reviews these issue were not mentioned. Do you believe that I have a defective unit and I should return it or is it normal and that I'm just paying a lot more attention since it's new. ( and I am definitely paying a lot more attention since every few minutes I check it's temp)
@@FishBeeProductions I did file a report with Samsung members app, which takes phone logs and the support team did say that the Temps are normal, even with the noticed heating of the phone while charging they said it was within spec and no issue was detected

I have both ... I am a super basic phone user so I ran these simple tests ...
- took a photo with front camera
- took a photo with the back camera
- played Sound of Silence by Disturbed.. on youtube app...
PHOTOS: whether it is right or wrong, for those photographers out there, I personally prefer the saturation ... less washed out, look of both front and back cameras on the A54...
SOUND: I've watched all the comparison videos I can find on these two phones, and I really don't understand how any of the reviewers think the sound quality is even close... the A54 is fuller while the Pixel 7 sounds like it is in a tin box (relatively)..
I've been a Samsung user for years, but I really wanted to the Pixel to win. Unfortunately, the only things I really like better about it are the clean Android UI, and the slightly smaller form factor. The battery lasts slightly longer on the A54 too... so I guess I'm stuck with Samsung for now. Really wish I could find one the size of my S10E with a better battery life... I actually prefer that over both of these otherwise.

The pixel 7 only has 128gb not expandable. This is unacceptable, 128gb are not much nowadays. I have ordered my Samsung a54 with an SD card of 256gb so 384gb in total, plenty enough for my usage. My previous phone was a redmi note 7 so the gap will be huge, can't wait to receive it !

I got my Samsung a54 for 360 shipped. I like the software better on the Samsung you also get an eye Comfort mode which makes it easy on the eyes for long UA-cam sessions. The speakers on the Samsung are way better than the speakers on the pixel. You do get wireless charging on the pixel and stock android with all the updates, however the pixel has been late on updates for 4 straight months when all my Samsung phones get the updates within 3 days. 120 refresh is definitely Noticeable and the overall screen looks betterto me then the pixe. I like the pixel but it has boring software you can't even move the Google search bar. For the cash I spent on the Samsung I'm very happy with it and im sure the samaungwill be 350 in a month or 2 so just hold out if your like the samaung.
Yeah, definitely the a54 is a better choice for most. "Stock" android, does not mean "good" android, I just found that out the hard way by bying the Pixel 7.
Guess an a54 is a good value. Plus, expandable storage is a must
I feel like the slightly lower performance on the Samsung is justified by the better battery and screen (I personally would rather play a game for longer with just slightly worse graphics)

I had both phones so to summarize: screen display for galaxy 54 and also battery 🔋 . Cameras for pixel 7 cameras on the Samsung are not that good as some reviewers out there are saying!
A54 feels more premium and better and 4 year’s support is amazing

I've read that samsung offers 5 years security patches and 4 android OS updates so it should reach android 17. One reason to consider this phone. Also sd card support that you don't get with flagships.

Id probably go for the A54 for the better display. The aspect ratio on the Pixel is too narrow. The Pixels also seem to have more issues than other phones

I recently bought a pixel, but was so disappointed in it's lack of customization,
Android is supposed to be all about customization but yet the default pixel launcher is just disappointing, basic editing features are not available. And also i know we can just use other launchers, but the core functionality are just not enough

Go with the pixel 6 it has a better processor and a better camera after all its a flagship device. The charging speed won't be much of a difference since Samsung a54 only supports 25W charging and the pixel at 18W. So it's not a big difference and not a factor you should take into account.

the problem with the pixel phone is it's not made for my region. I hate bad signal reception so I got a Samsung a54 just a month ago
I bought the pixel 7, and will be returning it. The software implementation is just bad. Just the fact that you can't remove the bottom bar even in gesture mode, is absolutely ridiculous. It's constantly there taking up screen space in every app.
To me it feels like a less featured Android, stripped down, and maybe that's part of the appeal, for some less is more, but it just seems lacking. The fingerprint reader is flimsy.
It has amazing cameras and the microphone as well is very good, but that's about it for me

The Google Pixel is just good processing software, not a camera. I'm using a Google Pixel now, but I think the Galaxy is superior in every way.

I had the Pixel 7 and I hated it; the UI is terrible looking... why are there no deep blacks in it, both have OLED panels yet only the A54 (A53 too) UI will let you have that. Battery life is a lot better on the A54 as well. I liked my A53 way better than my pixel 7. Sure, the Pixel has wireless charging (don't use it as it's not good for the battery), better cameras (I have an S23 Ultra for that) and more processing power, but not noticeable in day-to-day use. Samsungs just have better screens and more enjoyable to use in my opinion. I didn't like the Pixel experience at all... I mean why can't I get rid of the search box on the home screen? I dislike the entire Pixel lineup.
@DavidGrayInsights Samsung is giving 4 years of OS updates with the A5X series. I don't feel I should have to run a 3rd party launcher to get the UI somewhat presentable on a Pixel. Again, why is the Google search box not able to be removed? I never use it. Anyway, I gave the Pixel 7 a shot, but wasn't at all impressed with the screen, UI, or even the battery life. Also, the camera band on back looks pretty bad. I'm just not a fan - I actually owned this phone, and so that's my honest review of it. Buy an A53 or A54 over the Pixel 7, you'll enjoy it more.
@DavidGrayInsights I just gat a new Samsung Galaxy S21 FE for $99 at MetroPCS. Way better than the Pixel 7. Honestly, the Pixel 7 is a $249.99 feeling type of phone. It's not worth the asking price. If you like it, then that's all that matters. I have 5 different phones at the moment, I'm a bit of a tech enthusiast, and the Pixel 7 was in & out of my hands in less than 30 days. I wasn't at all impressed with it. And as you pointed out, the screen is underwhelming. Honestly, It looked like an IPS LCD, that's how underwhelming. If they would put pure black in the UI it wouldn't look so washed out and maybe even help the battery life.
@DavidGrayInsights Smartphones are really my 1 vice, so I can afford a few of them. I haven't heard of or experienced any issues with my S21 FE, maybe you can enlighten me, & the cameras are great. $99 was too good of a deal to pas up brand new. After 6 months on MetroPCS I can SIM unlock it - the best part is I don't pay the bill. it's usually $600 new. My main phone is the S23 Ultra - that thing is awesome and I probably charge once every 3 to 5 days. The S23 Ultra is the best phone I've owned by far.
@DavidGrayInsights Samsung Galaxy S21 FE (not SE). Phone works fine, pictures are great. Battery life could be better, but it's no worse than the Pixel 7. I just feel you can do better for what you pay for the Pixel. What matters most is that you enjoy the phone you buy.

If you have the extra couple of hundred, dont buy the Pixel 6. But saving the money is worth it. I just got the Pixel 7 Pro and its awesome, but no surprises apart from upgrading. It has way better performance plating online gaming. The wireless broadband is an absolute powerful soldier. I have no idea what I wouldnt get the PXL7 for?
Just buy a flagship that's a year or two old. Don't waste your money on those midrange or budget phones.
Midranges offer 10x more performance / buck than any flagship. I honestly don't understand how could you buy a flagship phone, unless you have unlimited $$$ to waste

I'm also waiting for the Pixel 7a but the storage options are concerning me a bit since the 6a only had 128gb and that's really not much considering that there is no SD card slot. Hopefully there will be a 256gb version but I don't think so unfortunately.
@@Koen488 yeah svcks tbh if only they let us have this simple things back (sd card, headphone jack, charger) like cheaper phones still have them but rarer on midrange phone, paying for more but losing the most simple things.

I'm a pixel 7 pro owner and my advice to people would be to get the pixel 7 over the galaxy. Google does the best at showing how android should be used. I used to only buy Galaxys before jumping over to pixels. The software is so fire 🔥

I usually wait a lil bit before upgrading. My previous phone was the Note 10 and I loved that phone but it started overheating all of sudden and the battery was dying quickly all the time.. I did everything to get it fixed(tried out all yt solutions and Factory reset) and I just decided it was time and got the Pixel 7 Pro. I wanted to try something new and my best bud recommended it to me since he bought his last year. I'm loving it so far.
Bought the a54 yesterday and returned it for the Pixel 7 and definitely the better phone! Team Pixel ❤

The response time was slow and it took too long to charge. Good thing Tmobile let me pay it off with the discount. A month later I got the S22 ultra. But want to try again the Pixel 7. I loved my Pixel 2

The Pixel 6 speakers suck, crackling and static, going back to using my A54.
Leave the pixel.... comparing to same company with galaxy s20fe from 3 years ago (a phone of the same company as the A54) that is now significantly cheaper on the market and still a way better phone or similar at worst in all most important areas... chipset, camera, price, and most likely similar on battery and screen. It's seriously a sham this A54 phone... but i guess it will still fool a lot of the uninformed people to buy it due to a a clean and slick design...

Smartphones are so controversial, its political lol. Ive been using pixels for a while. I have also been using samsungs for a while as well but i havent really messed with any other brand. Both in my opinion have their pros and con's that I could write a whole book about, but just know if you buy either, you are going to get a pretty good bang for the buck. All brands seem to also last a year or little longer. After that they crap out. So both are about just as good.
Funny that all reviewers never mention the signal issues that's rampaging Pixel phones (6&7) series. Believe me you, buy pixels at your own peril, their signal or reception is just terrible! Watching videos on Mobile data is terrible, calls dropped, you might travel with a friend that's using a different phone, his/her phone will have reception but you'll be offline! Charging speeds are terrible! You cannot have a mix of mediocre battery endurance/standby and mediocre charging speeds! Choose 1, I love that for Iphone charging speeds are mediocre but battery endurance/standby is great!
I've used the pixel 6 pro and regular pixel 7 the longest and didn't have those problems.

Pixel 7a vs A54 5G would be an even comparison. Galaxy A54 5G will have a cheaper carrier version but Pixel 7 won't.

@@FishBeeProductions thats not totally true. The G2 of the pixel 7 scores higher then a snapdragon 8gen 1+. So not every phone or chip has increased that much on geekbench 6.. so whats the conclusion then? The g2 is a stronger chip then snapd 8 gen 1+?

A54 Will have a longer life span.. OS updates till android 17 even longer security updates. Expandable storage. Wireless is nice but takes a lot longer to charge. No big deal to plug in. Just realized your comparing a Flagship with a midrange.. Let's be serious now by the way. I just bought a A54 for $330.

No, 20W is actually closer. Google advertises 30W, especially with their 30W charging brick, but the Pixel 7 has been shown to max out at 21W.
