Managed to score one of these in excellent condition with the original box and all the tools for only £41.50!
I love vintage vacuum cleaners! You did an amazing job cleaning it up! Definitely another part of Hoover's legacy.
I would love to see a Dustette big mess test! It would certainly be interesting to see how it handles larger amounts of dirt, maybe even some hard floor cleaning? Keep up the good videos :)
"It is a high speed metal fan... that's all I'm saying" lmao! 😂😂😂
You made a beautiful job of cleaning it up! 💙
Hi Roger. This model was manufactured between January to June 1956. Enjoy your videos particularly the dustette ones. More please!!! Can you please do a video on how to remove the suppressor on your 2614C? On the earlier models it was in the handle. Looking forward to more dustette videos. Take care
Very well done on cleaning it up… looks LOADS better!
That is an amazing example of a Hoover Dustette. I would love to get one someday.
Love these dustettes, my Nan had one! I still have it along with a few others. 😅 managed to get an original box, and a cardboard display stand for the tools. The tools can go sticky over time but if you wash them they are fine. I’ve a few of the first paper bags for these I’ve not used yet too!
That machine is a bloddy work of art!!
That’s a good portable handy cleaner by Hoover I would love to see other Hoovers pretty soon
Lovely retro machine 😊
Fascinating piece of equipment. I would say if you wanted to fix the fan, I would just balance it by filing off a small amount from the opposite fan blade, or blades.
Awesome vaccum videos
65 year old machine! No dyson, Shark is going to last 65 years! Amazing!
Love These vacuum cleaner
That has to be early to mid 1950s in date
And a really superb survivor in so complete condition
I love vintage smells.. especially the old cb radios 😅
Hello Roger I have the hoover dustette 100 with the brown bag which is used occasionally I have a dirt devil vacuum cleaner in red the power of an upright hoover in the palm of your hand !
Awesome Dustette Roger looks as if it's done no work 👍
I live in Aberdeenshire so this was interesting
Never had a dustette, but my grandmother had a GE handheld vac, I think it was a model 80?, used to have it a long time then it got lost
Howls at the dirty protest. Very beautiful example tho
I know what you mean by other things but my question is what is going through someone's head while they try to do that with a vacuum
sublime
The natural fibers on the brush are so much better than they synthetic ones.
very nice
Model 2504 which we had also replaced model 100.
I am still using my Dustette model 2614 which I inherited from my mother before I emigrated to NZ in 1978. I recall her using it back in the 1960s when we lived in Bath. It still works a treat, but now I am on my last bag - help! Where can i get some more???
Try ebay. Hoover Junior bags that are still widely available can be cut down to fit.
Nice to keep the original plug on . Just use a shaver adapter. A beauty though
That would have to be a Euro adapter with a 10 amp fuse, most shaver adapters have a 2 amp fuse ~ that vintage vacuum would blow a 2 amp fuse
Wow
it looks like one of those pvc diy vacuum cleaners
The Hoover Dustette model 2614 replaced model 100 in 1955.
Roger, how did this vintage 50s/60s vacuum get the name, Dustette, and why?
I think my Uncle had one of these It was Green i think
The hose looks like something used for a swather
Si you mention a Company that change it’s accessories let’s say it’s Electrolux? I have an Electrolux Oxygen an small orange ball with a power floor tool and it has a very unique conector to the machine only some Voltas had it and then release a new model and they changed again 😂.
When you see how crude (classic?) that is in comparison to a modern cordless Dyson you realise we’re definitely living in the 21st century!
I wonder if a Dyson will still be working in 60 years like this Hoover Dustette.
Next time you make a public service announcement, please wait until the end of your video. I did not hear a word you said after the PSA. Also, I'm a girl (U.S.A.).
I have absolutely NO idea what you’re talking about. Also I’m a man (ENGLAND).
Too much lacture...
I remember my grandmother having one of these and using it as her main vacuum as she lived in an absolutely tiny flat, she bought a floor tool from a constellation and another wand. served until its 58th year in service. she now owns a SEBO Felix and she is currently 83 but still refuses to let anyone but herself clean 😂
