- As Naga people prepare for the Sesquicentenary- 150 years of Christianity in Naga homelands, Molungkimong Baptist Church, in collaboration with Dreamz Unlimited brings you a little story that takes you through some of the key landscapes of Christianity’s advent in Molungkimong village, and calls on each one of us to reflect on the journey that our progressive ancestors took to bring this religion of peace and love to our people.
Molungkimong Baptist Church will celebrate Sesquicentenary from 21-22 December 2022, sacred dates for the village when their ancestors accepted Christ and were baptized exactly 150 years ago on December 22, 1872.
In 2022, we echo the plea of our ancestors who sought a way out from the carnage of our head-hunting ways, and pray for a celebration of peace, love, and good cheer!

In 1997 when Quasquicentennial was celebrated I could not attend since I had to look after the pigs at home... And also because I wanted my dad to attend the jubilee. I said, "Oba, you attend the jubilee, God willing I'll attend the 150 Sesquicentennial in 2022".
This video has really wanted me to join in the jubilee this year. I'll visit my dad's grave in the village... And say... " Oba I wish you were alive today to celebrate jubilee together. "
I am sure many will be blessed through the watching of this film... Am sure this will prepare the hearts of those who are looking forward to celebrate the jubilee. I'm from mishilimi (Pughoboto),32 km away from the capital currently residing at kohima studying, whenever I get 3 or more days classes off,I usually go to village, my friends always laughed at me saying,' Bosti tea ki kuri thake hooo? But I was born ,raised from a so called 'Bosti' nothing fells better ,no fortune is better than a village if u know how it vibes, Missing you my lovely "mishilimi"♥️

All thanks to Assamese evangelist/preacher Godhula who first came to this village in October 1871 and started sowing the seeds of Christianity... Yes Nagas and Assamese have a long history since the times of Ahom kingdom including marriage ties. Mention may be made that An Ahom king married Rongmangsem from this village.

When the Ao-Ahom trade road was made centuries back then... the intention was just for trade and commerce and for fostering better relationships between the Nagas and the Ahoms... However it was through this very route centuries later that Christianity was brought to our land... This was the unfolding of God's miraculous plan for Nagas. This is our shared naga history. Let's all rejoice

Our Grand parents narrate us that, when missionary used to come to our village ( Haflong,Assam) our poeple used to closed their doors, but the missionary used to keep on proclaim ing the Gospel thinking that, although they may closed their doors, their ears are open. We are on the verge of celebrating platinum jubilee. To God be Glory.
