Train Operations on the Gulf Summit lines and Susquehanna Valley Railway

- Usually when I film the trains they derail left and right but to nights four train operation from pulling out of the yard through Susquehanna Valley Railway and around Gulf Summit lines and back to the yard, the trains ran well. It was the engineer who had the issues from time to time that were edited out lol. A couple small derailments that engineer and conductor will get tested for drugs and alcohol and the train black box will get a once over :-)
I built that layout back in the 1970's. It was a cool layout....loved the quad diamonds. Yours is exactly as I recall the book. thx
No Problem. This is a fun little layout
Very nice. Enjoyed watching them all run. Cross over on the top have to watch like a hawk! However, the crews were alert and no disasters. nice video. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you
What a nice, well detailed layout! WOW! Thanks for sharing!❤
@@caryhewitt1256 thank you
Cool Layout ! Was thinking of starting a new N scale project and you've now made this my current favorite layout. :)
@@vitale6633 you won't be disappointed if you do this layout. It's a fun layout
Merci beaucoup Monsieur !
Un petit bonjour d'Alsace en France , bye !
You're welcome. Hello to you too
Well, look what showed up in my UA-cam video feed! I was just thinking about this very railroad the other day, and so glad these videos are still available! I just love this little railroad, even went so far as to buy the vintage Atlas track planning books this layout was featured in.
I found a simpler plan in the Atlas book called the "Unhinged and Horizontal", which is a single track, single level layout designed to fit on a 30" x 80" hollow-core door. I really want to give that layout a try, and see what I can do with it. Might make some modifications to the plan to fit my particular needs.
Bless you for putting this on UA-cam. I wish you could see the big fat grin on my face that comes naturally every-time I watch it.
Hope you are doing well Mr. Glenn.
Thank you so much. I'm glad you like the videos of my little layout
Nice railroad.
@@SteveBull-tg8mi Thank you
That quadruple crossing keeps you on your toes!!
That it does

Thank you
Well done, thanks.

@@dennisarmes3473 no head ons but a T Bone has happened a lot
Nice video.
Thank you
NICE !
Thank you
I may have said this before, but a very nice layout. Out of curiosity, how tall off the floor did you make your layout? I ask because I'm a tad on the short side, and want to be sure I have (roughly) a bird's-eye view of my layout when it's completed.
Thank you. Floor to table top first level is just over 36 inches and to the second level is 39 inches. I'm 6'2. I probably could have gone a little higher but this height works well.
@@Glenn1962 You're quite welcome :). I'm about 5'2", so I'm thinking somewhere between 32-36 inches would work for me.
Very cool layout... very therapeutic viewing! I have just tracked down (pardon the pun...) an unused Gulf and Sus here in France, from a guy who used to live in the States, which he only got round to mounting on board, so have a long way to go to get it near your standard, but can't wait to get started..
What speed controllers are you using?
Thank you. This is a DC lay out. I have two Tech II dual power transformers that I use to run the trains.
Love this. I'm about to start my layout....a variation of this track plan. What operating system are you using? Would you share?
The layout looks good but figure 8's are for slot cars and not realistic train operations. As this is N scale where long trains are the norm, I could see trains running into themselves on that figure 8.
Two trains running on figure eight is exciting to watch when they are timed right not to hit each other and definitely keeps the engineer on his toes
I hope you are having fun. I am jealous. I think my wife would divorce me if I got a train hobby.
My wife likes it that I'm with the trains in the back building and away from her lol
Nice Layout What Size is it.
Thank you. This layout is N Scale on a 4 x 6 board.
What is the size of the layout?
The table is 4 x 6 N scale
@@Glenn1962 Thanks, Glenn
Whar scale is this???
This is N scale
