Chuck Nordell well said. Gene Le Bell has said he learned the Double wrist lock from Karl Gotch. Gene who's in his 80's has trained in Judo in Japan and United states in many schools thru out his career. Gene has always given credit to the Pro Wrestlers for teaching him certain finishing holds. You would think with a credible Martial Artist like Gene that he would give credit to Judo for learning the Double wrist lock aka Kimura technique.

@BakaYaru13 actually it is claimed by Masahiko that the match between him and Rikidozan was ment to be staged and was the first of what was supposed to be several matches to raise a fanbase for the union of thier wrestleing federations.. But that Rikidozan started hitting Masahikio for real because he was greedy and eventually knocked Kimura out.. Later Masahiko got a call from Yakuza that said they were going to kill Rikidozan.. Not much later Riki was stabbed and died a week later.

@panther2552 the double wristlock is a staple of Judo known as the UDE GARAMI. The application is identical to the catch applications. FYI Kimura knew this submission long before he met Karl Gotch in the 60s. He actually broke Helio Gracies arm with this hold- a full decade before he met Gotch. Gotch also trained extensively in Judo, and admired the sport.

Bare in mind that Kimura handily beat Helio, and also defeated the then much younger and bigger Brazilian Vale Tudo fighter Waldemar Santana..

Because Brazil was holding Profession Wresting matches with Americans since the early 1920s and 1930s onward. lol Example George Gracie was a famous Pro Wrestler in the 1930s besides his already famous Jiujitsu family.

And Brazil was doing MMA in the 1930s and up. You welcome....
