Chilaw Town Centre, Sri Lanka

Chilaw is a coastal town north of Colombo the capital. From Colombo one can visit Chilaw faster than before by going through the expressway from Colombo to the international airport. As elsewhere in Sri Lanka there is a general atmosphere of depression brought about by oppressive conditions that are beyond the control of the Ordinary Joes who feature so prominently in most of my videos. It is indeed difficult to climb up the cruel hierarchy by decent and lawful means and many find that upward progression is principally possible only by currying the favor of and obtaining the good graces of overseas Lords of the Earth and their local lieutenants.. Long have I watched the antics of these creatures in human form but devils in disguise. One of the quips of these charming monsters is: "I could buy you out with my petty cash". This is an extremely short video but here, as elsewhere in the Third World, one can glimpse the end product of having such people in positions of command and control. These false saviours are Minnie Mouses to their Western Overlords and King Rats to their wretched subordinates at home. I now rest my pen.
