This is one of the most flawless films I've ever seen. It's so underrated it hurts. I even think it's Kurosawa's best film, together with Rashomon.
It is a remarkable work of art and fantastic example of Kurosawa’s skill as a director. Thanks for the comment and let us know what you think about any of our other content.
After seeing all of his movies, I don’t think anything has overcome ‘The Bad Sleep Well’ for me- but this is damn close
He’s one of those directors who has a dozen films that would easily be the highlight of another director’s career. There’s just so much excellent material in his work.
Loved this film
Kurosawa is a master and this film is one of his very best.
At the end, the bad guy and his girlfriend are found dead from heroin overdoses while a radio is playing an instrumental version of 'O Sole Mio' (also released by Elvis Presley as 'It's Now Or Never') preceded by a female announcer saying this was 'Midnight Music'.
