Family Train Travel To The South Of Sri Lanka 🇱🇰

- We are leaving Galle today. We could have stayed there for a lot longer but the visa will run out eventually, not right now, but eventually. We have decided to go down to a place that is not super touristy but yet has a nice beach and a good feel to it - Tangalle! First we were told to take a bus and it will be alright, but as we were standing there at the road for a while we realized that it is probably better to take the train that was just about to leave a few steps away from us. So we hopped on it and took 3 second class tickets which seemed to have been the right thing to do as it had plenty of seats and was a good journey. What it also was is a very quite journey, at some points there were no noises to be heard at all. Is this the South of Sri Lanka? It certainly seems so. Please do come along on this journey down south that we, that traveling Swiss family, have taken.

I saw video how western countries train journey... people just get in -- all windows doors closed -- just sitting eating reading books Toilet that's it... how our train journey... we cannot keep our legs rest while traveling on train in Sri Lanka... always hanging on the door... in my childhood I used train to travel school... always sitting on door with my brothers and plucking every leaves which just passing our train.. old memories.. 😊😇😀😄🥰😊🙋♂️👋👋👋

Fantastic train journey!! The squeaking breaks and whistles makes Moonshine like a star in the old black n white movies with Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman just without the steam! Lol!! Dylan is such a happy baby!!

place call (Koggala) is very special because you can see in straight line
1. Seaplane landing spot (Koggala Lake)
2. Normal Airport (Koggala Airport)
3. Railway Line (Galle - Matara Railway Line)
4. Normal Vehicle road (Galle - Matara Bus Route )
5. Shipping Route (In Indian Ocean)
its not common to see all this 5 transport method in straight line. if you see in google map you will understand what I mean.

Unless kids and young guys on the trains generally is very quiet. During weekends and school holidays you can see singing and dancing on long distance trains.

It’s such a nice journey for u I guess. Like a heaven I guess. In my life I always like that journey n nuwaraeliya like UK. N u hve to choose the night train ride from Colombo. So u will reach to bandarawela in the morning n u can see such a nice many things. Many many many it will be unforgettable things in ur life I guess. But it’s a long journey around 12 hours. But such a nice moment 😊

We didn't have the best night the night before and the journey is sometimes a bit much, it depends, but kids get angry all the time

Yeah I accept that kids get angry due to some or the other reason. mostly they get angry due to fatigue/tiredness. I used to get angry too when I was a kid hahaha.
