I'm getting smashed by the complex nature of the financial markets. Can't seem to lock in profits.

Best I can do is the 5 min timeframe! But I don't stay in front of the charts: I wait for line or indicator alerts. Using the 4H is blowing my mind, expecially in such unpredictable conditions. That's amazing, frankly!

Sit down, get seat time, study, find out what works. That's it. I seen a video that said to turn off the colors of the candles and I would highly not recommend doing that since the color of the candle indicates buying and selling, and how much of it especially on the 1-min candle chart.
Very good video as usual.
I just want to add another pro tip about signal candle and trigger candle.
Try to find a signal candle on a much higher TF, like in 1hr TF. Then find a trigger candle in a much lower TF like 1min TF using a powerfull pattern like candle pattern, divergences, or BoS.
If you use 4hr TF, then use 5min TF for the trigger candle. If you use daily TF, use 15min TF for the lower one, and so on.

I agree, many people tend to use a the same technical indicators and therefore think trading is predictable by this psychology.
In reality, big money moves the market. Ever notice indecision and people trading in very small amounts?
Removing the brokerage fees and adding fractional shares just made it move slower.
Market makers have to come in and start the movement. Generate hype to invite a buyer or seller condition.

I love the 10 tick/pip renko chart on currencies. Market structure is so clean. Once price is in a key area of interest then that is when I look at candlestick price action. If the renko chart is ugly then that means price is in accumulation/distribution. I trade the range if it’s big enough or until some fundamental event where it could break out of consolidation

If we use a zone, how do we determine how big the zone is?
This is what i find confusing in all tutorials i've seen. If i draw the zone thin, and i drop to a lower timeframe, it can show a breakout. And when i draw it too big, the price might be breaking out already.
Is there a rule-based way to draw the zones?
This is where confluence comes in. Confluence is where you have 3 or more levels meeting and amplifying the probabilities of your zone.
zones don't really exist the way its said here. Just focus on price rotation. But really trading from charts with entries and exits is ridiculous. Trading is won with deep pockets, not stop losses and moving averages. Institutional traders don't care what direction the market goes, there are appropriate actions for either direction. It's not about entering then exiting or risk to reward. Understand the idea of buying in lots, that's the secret. you build a position with lots. the lower the price goes the more shares each lot buys thus lowering cost basis. Its a lot like dollar cost averaging except you are using price points vs time intervals to spread out your position. a lot is a predetermined dollar amount and price points are a predetermined percentage (like 5% or 8% or 15%). so you buy and price drops 8%, buy another lot. If it goes up 8%, sell that lot and the profit and repurchase a lot.
pro tip:
Choose zones where there is a doji candle. A doji candle is tiny yet powerful. Draw your zones as big as the doji candle. If the doji candle is too big, just use the body, ignore the wick.
Combine with divergences. If you do this consistently, you are guaranteed profitable.

One of the problems of traders is psychology and emotions. Instead of allowing yourself get played by your emotion just engage yourself in a more professional system of investing through the big banks and hedge funds and benefit from their liquidity. Only few of them allow room for personal investment but it’s worth it as study shows that they have huge edge in the market. This is still one of the surest way to maintain profit consistency.

Can you please make a video on what's this smart Money Concept (SMC)? Is this just a fancy name for selling courses or is there something different in it?
I learnt indicators based analysis at beginning, after that I went to price action and recently I was trying to learn SMC...
But now, I feel that I have got analysis paralysis... I think that I have understood all the concepts but when it's time to place the trade, I feel confused and freezed... I feel confident on long and short both at the same time lol ...
SMC and its variations is exactly what you said, just a fancy name. The concepts will not make you a profitable trader.
The only objective way to prove a strategy is profitable is to code it into a trading robot and do backtests.
The reason these course selling people get away with it is because you can't code SMC and similar concepts as they are extremely subjective. People then get biased into believing that they actually work.

It's a long discussion here. I don't know ICT method, but I personally have a different view on SMC. I include volume profile, market profile , supply and demand, key bank levels in my analysis.

The only indicator you need to see these imbalances is the the forex calendar. The hourly chart consolidates the noise while still allowing you to see swing highs and lows inside the larger candles. Support that with news releases for 2 different currencies released at the same time or within 30m. Everybody trying to trade by chart reading alone or with an algo completely ignoring the real predictive driver in the news

Technical analysis IS what you think... ! Price action alone could work, but indicators help, mostly money flow. So you have to track the money flow, and that's technical, and it should work.

I don't know how technical analysis could ever be a self fulfilling prophecy, because people never follow the plan anyway. So how are they aligned in any point enough for technical analysis to have an affect?
Fibonacci is a great example. There is nothing special about Fib numbers but everyone is using them as the base number in their calculations and coming to the same conclusion.
