I figured, since everyone is sharing something in here, I might as well share a short story I wrote in 8th grade!
"The End"
I looked up at the sky and took a small breath. The wind blowing past me and pushing the wheat around me to the side. The sky was a faint red. The sun was closer than it had ever been before. I closed my eyes and let the memories of life before now return. It all came flowing back like a river crashing into a valley. Tears ran down my cheeks as I remembered looking at my brother for the last time before he left with the last ships to New Earth. I was the only one who’d decided to stay behind and die with our home.
I opened my eyes and looked at the small house that generations of my family had grown up in. I took a breath and started walking toward the small structure. I walked inside and looked at the chipping grey paint on the walls. I looked at the pictures on shelves and tables, and hung on hooks on the grey walls. They were all pictures of smiling people. All happy. And now it was ending. I could hear him playing the piano. My brother. The soothing melody ringing out and dancing around the room, echoing through the halls of the small house and then fading away.
At that moment it all came back to me. The memories like a flood in my mind. I took a breath before going back outside and into the wheat field. When I stopped and looked around, a small grass snake slithered past and hid itself in the wheat beside me. I wondered if it knew about the impending doom soon to come. My eyes turned to the now darkening sky. The Sun was getting closer. I watched the sky as the stars glittered even in the light. I wondered again about the snake beside me. Could it survive? If so, how? The melody of the piano came back in this final moment. As the atmosphere broke and the stars where clearer now. I wanted to see my brother one more time. One last hug before I let go. One more second together before I said good-bye. I wasn’t with him enough.
And then
Everything went

I was 13 when Neil Armstrong took that step and have wanted to journey off this earth ever since but my own limits led me in a different direction, I see in the comments so many bright young people want to do so, work hard and you will hopefully realise your dream, good luck to you all.
Thank you for your message. Its also all about those around us that help and encourage. I wanted to be an astronaut. But the road led me to become a passionate science teacher. I went to see a lecture with one of the first astronauts that went on the moon. We asked him what can he tell students now while they are young that will prepare them to be accepted into space programs. He said this, "You will pass the math and science classes.. but you only have one body. keep your body healthy. No drugs, no alcohol, nothing. That is the most important thing. Stay healthy." Hope this reaches the eyes of a future space explorer. Good luck!
Thanks for the luck..... My whole life I've always been smart alot of people can tell... I got a call from my teacher one time in fifth grade... He called because I seemed bored.
I have always been the type of person who's excellent at anything challenging and or amazing at anything I want to do and I do well... But I have to want to do it or I won't put best effort...
Aiming for Neurology at the moment....
But I've always liked space and the sars and the space crafts and shuttles..
Good at anything creative and resourceful when it comes in handy....
Hoping that maybe I can do neurology first then become and astronaut..... Or maybe both at the same time some how.

small percentile that are typically groomed from an early age given the willingness and capability.
Therefore we began a family wherein two sons
were born and developmental practice has made our dream possible through their
efforts , Phd's We are humbly grateful for life and

Ill be there one day. Space. The beautiful mysterious place that we are living in. I wanna go there, to a different planet and do better. I look at pictures of space dreaming of what I would do if I could go there. i stare at the sky at night wishing I was up there instead of down here. I wanna be there. i wanna live there forever. Just floating up there with myself and no one else, unless its my soulmate lol. There are billions of galaxies and we are only part of one. I mean come on think about all the possibilities there are. I know we are not the only people living in this universe. Its impossible. I want to meet them. Whoever is out there, I hope they are treating their planet better than we are. One day. One day ill be there. I don’t care if hoping out of a spaceship is the last thing I do. At least ill be there in space. Even if I die, ill be looking at space. I want it to be my home. My safe place. And it is when I look at it. I hope I can survive to see it one day. I hope ill be there when we figure out a way to visit a different planet. I want to be an astronaut. Even if the training is hard, I don’t care. I will work hard to see it. to some day visit the place I truly think of as home. Its dangerous but who cares. You are not really living if you don’t take risk for things you admire. For things you want. For things you love. I love space. And I hope one day ill get to see it and visit it for myself.

Since 24 min it is like a dream. One of the best ambient tracks I have ever heard. I just love when I get to work at 5am and nobody will be there for next 2 hours and I run this and then start coding. Also I have to admit the picture for the music is so perfect. Amazement overload.

From what I understand, the reason we have expanded our economy and our knowledge so quickly is because we found a reliable source of energy : fossil fuels. The moment we lack in those might be the moment our technology has a big step back or is slowed quite significantly.
However with the creation of "Aging Science", it might help you stay alive a little bit more, long enough that we can experience space tourism on a more broader scale than what is possible right now.
And yet you tell yourself that it might be the new normal in a few hundred years and those humans will not get this of Dread and Bliss at seeing this view because of the way our brain was wired through generations of human evolution. The bliss disappear too quickly and the new bliss then feel like the old normal.
Then, only the serenity is a feeling you can hold on to, because it is something that will not fade with time.

Sometimes when I feel lonely I look at the stars wondering if someone (from another planet) who is feeling as lonely and lost as me is gazing at the night sky unconsciously looking back at me. To that someone I want to say that you're not alone. I promise you that we'll find eachother. We won't be lonely anymore. One day we'll be gazing at the sky together.

its surprising how small we are compared to the universe. but how much danger we are too. such little minds and such big stars. we could easily take the energy from anything, we where born with a mysteries reason. your lucky to be alive now because you have such power. its incredible

ive been thinking about this thing a lot.. all i want to do is go somewhere dark and dim with no light around but the stars above my eyes. a huge wheat field or something like that. i just want to lay in that field and cry, scream, listen to the crickets, alone in complete darkness with the milky way above me and billions of stars. thats one thing i just want to do, i want to get away from reality and just look up and be able to see such beauty from the stars and forget all my worries and just lay there. in peace. no interruptions.
