  • The University of Warsaw, founded in 1816, is the best and the largest Polish university. World rankings place the University of Warsaw highest among Polish universities. Over 200 study programs are conducted within 25 faculties and 30 research and teaching units. The university is one of the leading research centers in the country. International successes are achieved by university computer scientists, archaeologists, astronomers and physicists, as well as specialists in other fields. The piano genius Fryderyk Chopin was educated here, and Nobel Prize winners Henryk Sienkiewicz, Czesław Miłosz, Menachem Begin, and Józef Rotblat studied here. Leonid Hurwicz or Olga Tokarczuk.
