The best ones are the ones about crazy mods that are actually showcased in the video and not just the thumbnail, or very few of the “vs.” videos you showed in the video that actually featured things from the vanilla games and are actually tested in the video, like the speed of animals one.
Actually the reason the original videos showcasing mods not having thumbnails is due to youtube back then ONLY having auto generated thumbnails, I believe at a set amount of subscribers you were allowed to create one, but back then, it was just the usual 3, which is why in some much older videos you could even see some videos flash a thumbnail for a brief second midway through the video to allow them to select it, though even with this knowledge I doubt the original videos, if made today, would have over the top clickbait, they're just goofy little videos and I miss videos like them
I feel like one thing that should be mentioned is that this type of content isn't new. In fact, it's been around for years at this point. If you've heard of Elsagate, then you probably know what I mean, but for those who don't, lemme break it down. Elsagate was the title of a controversy that happened during the midpoint of the 2010s on UA-cam. It consisted of complaints regarding semi-nsfw content aimed at kids that used clickbaity thumbnails such as the ones in this video. The controversy was named after Elsa from Frozen, who was one of the most popular characters used for these videos at the time, alongside Spiderman and Mickey Mouse. UA-cam obviously shut the whole operation down in its tracks, but that clearly didn't stop these content creators from continuing to make this type of content, as these kinds of videos just so happen to be the same type of content as Elsagate, but toned down for the purpose of appealing to UA-cam's updated standards. If we actually want to stop this from happening, we need to band together again and tell UA-cam that remnants of Elsagate still exist on their platform, and they are spreading like wildfire just like before. Go to their channels and mass report them, that should help with this issue.
the problem is, if you genuinely want to fix these types of things and tell youtube that elsagate is still rampant, that might end up causing worse problems in the long run. I mean, isn't that why the whole COPPA thing spawned in the first place?
Yep, I wanted to make a comment about this. It's not strictly related to PvZ, it's generally a big issue on UA-cam. People abusing the fact that there's so many kids on UA-cam to just use them to print money. And I don't think UA-cam would even want to put an end to this, since they're earning a ton of money through it. This is why we have the very dumb children-friendly rules nowadays, so they can comply with COPPA rules and be able to keep children on their platforms, children who allow them to earn money. UA-cam Kids exist, so why do they keep children content on the main UA-cam as well? Just to keep children there as well and earn more money.
There are so many times I know a problem exists, but never realize how big it is or how connected each event is. No clue where to look except for stray commentors on videos like these. Never would have realized that this stuff caused COPPA. Huh.

Yeah this type of channels are the worst sometimes and i hope they somehow get banned off youtube and also isnt there a youtube kids app like why are 5-8yr olds in youtube anyway like this site is 13+
This type of content is very common on youtube not just PVZ videos Minecraft and even GTA 5 (and that a R rated game... at least in Australia) have these videos its plaguing youtube. There is no way to stop this type of content and with the uprise of tic tok It will only get worse.
I also started making those repetitive and clickbait content but I got bored now I'm making videos that have never been seen in pvz2 like new bosses and all bosses of the same level or modifying parameters to make the bosses very difficult.
Bit late to the party, but I think it’s worth pointing out how these kinds of videos and channels are formulaically created. They are often desperate grabs at keywords, even the channel names. If you search up “pvz gameplay,” expecting to find gameplay of pvz, you’ll instead find the channel named “pvz gameplay.” Same for looking up “pvz mini games” leading you to the channel “mini games official.” Many of their choices make sense if you only think about keywords of the algorithm. The video titles are much more obvious in this aspect. The titles are not gibberish, but rather a pile of keywords meant to catch users who search them. Strapping the words “new,” “animation,” “cartoon,” “funny moments,” “(animation)” in case they search it in parentheses, and various other pop culture games solidified into the UA-cam Kids conglomerate like “poppy playtime,” “squid games,” “baldi,” “fnf,” or “shrek,” gives you a potent title designed to reach the most users, not inform them. After reaching those viewers, the thumbnail draws them in with absurdity. In the best case scenario, it’s just something that is out of place in a normal Plants Versus Zombies game. In the worst case scenario, it uses suggestive themes, pregnancy, violence, or anything else that would immediately catch a child’s eye. This “kid-milking conglomerate” is much bigger than PvZ. Take a step on UA-cam Kids and you’ll see that much. Log in to a new account and your default recommendations will be filled with similar videos. These content farms tend to grapple on to any brand a child would recognize. In cases involving movies such as Frozen, little harm is done to Disney itself. In more spontaneously popular games like Poppy Playtime, large and irreplaceable creators like Markiplier hold the backbone for at least some quality content. However, since it is nostalgic as opposed to sensational, actual PvZ content is completely under-swept by these content farms. PvZ-tubers who care about their content are rare gems stumbled across rather than found. Everyone on UA-cam is subject to it’s laws of gravity. Some of the only thriving PvZ content are challenge videos and video essays, since they distinctly break away from “OMG??? Plants vs zombies Cartoon Funny Moments Mini Game gameplay” type videos to the point where you can actually search for them. You’ll be lost immediately searching for “pvz gameplay,” but if you search up “can you beat pvz challenges,” you’ll find creators such as ShyGuyMask, Detera, or indeed, KoalaOM. Similarly, looking up “pvz video essay” has this specific video pop up. Honestly, the state of UA-cam freaks me out sometimes. I’ll try my best to keep some of my local PvZ-tubers alive…
Phamnos : Hp: 44,000 Speed: 1.35 Resistance: ghost One of the rare unlucky to become one of the prophets for the nilean god He was the strongest spirit , it will be difficult to replace him
It’s sad to see some legendary gaming UA-camrs be dying off when these videos are mostly popular because they are brainwashing kids into their videos with their thumbnails. Take Zack Scott as example. He is one of the only gaming UA-camrs out there that is likable for being honest, hardworking, kind, and being himself. He is one of the only UA-camrs that is not over the top and spends time on his videos. And these hacking channels milk off of kids and lie to them to get fame. While Zack’s channel does not get as much attention as it did before.
This video has no BG music in it. I watched this while on call with my GF and her background ambience matches this guy's voice. It's so funny it's like watching a raw video.
I don't know, I mean Wolfy has clickbait thumbnails despite his gameplay, but the only thing connecting those three tubers and the mad channels are that they are in different ranges, kid's content. With the clickbaity hacked videos purely being there to make money from kids. Catchy headlines, adult's or other popular or memetic characters and ideas. But I don't think calling PVZ tubers can all be honest or hard working, that's just not how populations work. But what's more important, these kids manipulating channels being a general trend for a long time. This is just more elsagate if you ask me.
I wouldn't say Wolfy has clickbait thumbnails at all. He has the cliched 'thumbnail faces' but other than that his thumbnails are just of the game he played, and he doesn't exactly bullshit in the titles either
9:06 I remember watching him and being on his 1 million sub livestream but shortly after that I stopped watching him because his content started to feel repetitive and boring and the clickbait wasn't going to improve things either
A lot of these creators are overseas in locations where they will face little to no consequences both legally or through the youtube space because they're both foreign and profiting from a market that adult whistleblowers can't reach.

Yeah this type of channels are the worst sometimes and i hope they somehow get banned off youtube and also isnt there a youtube kids app like why are 5-8yr olds in youtube anyway like this site is 13+
To be fair didn't we all use youtube as kids though?
@@suquinlan3755 youtube kids didn’t exist when i was under teenager
When i was a teenager youtube just started
Also you: UA-cam kids is trash
True everything for kids that becomes populer now a days is bound to get farmed for money like Minecraft Monster School and anything else
PRIMAL GAMEPLAY UPLOADED THAT JAY AND SILENT BOB PVZ ANIMATION? I WATCHED THAT SO MUCH DUDE!
Now looking more closely in these videos. I've noticed that on the live videos there is a small number of people actually watching each video.
Correction: there are some live streams with few amounts of veiwers.
I just realized your pfp was a koala... i realy tought it was like
:O
Ohh me too
i guess its like milking the cow too much it hurts it
I mean, everything has a dark-side.
I'm not surprised but i liked the video anyway
Pvz 2011: guys look i beat level 250 on survival endless!! Yay
Pvz now: lets use mods and make clickbait thumbnail and title for money!
This type of content is very common on youtube not just PVZ videos Minecraft and even GTA 5 (and that a R rated game... at least in Australia) have these videos its plaguing youtube. There is no way to stop this type of content and with the uprise of tic tok It will only get worse.
My school uses the same ding sound effect as the first subscribe button in the morning announcements.
I also started making those repetitive and clickbait content but I got bored now I'm making videos that have never been seen in pvz2 like new bosses and all bosses of the same level or modifying parameters to make the bosses very difficult.
If the hacking channels can get 1M subs, you deserve 100M subs
There was a guy called hawk games who makes these across like 5 accounts and some of these clickbaiters are from Vietnam for some reason.
0:40 i mean yeah why else would they make this humiliating content
This is just elsagate extended
Phamnos :
Hp: 44,000
Speed: 1.35
Resistance: ghost
One of the rare unlucky to become one of the prophets for the nilean god
He was the strongest spirit , it will be difficult to replace him
Wait i thought his hp is increased to 55k?
Look at how they massacred my boy.
Some thumbnails are honest and true
I'm glad, i've never across this pvz type of content on youtube when i was kid. As it turns out, they become worse 💀💀💀
Useless fact: Primal Gameplay is Polish, even if his info tab says otherwhise.
Zomvoid is a good Channel for "hacks and quality," content
No he isn't are you STONED???
Forget about U53rdv
Those videos are the real PvZ creepypastas
I thought these videos are animated, confusion 100
Some are, some aren't I believe.
there is also a weird pvz animation channel that makes everything look like ms paint and makes crossover episodes with charaters from other gamess
I love your videos
I think I got eye cancer from those PvZ tumbnails.
10:36 half the time? They were both made in the same year
Good vid still :)
The pvz youtube makes me dissapointed in humanity. It's a shame that youtube rewards people for not putting effort into their videos.
how are so many of these channels verified
A lot of these creators are overseas in locations where they will face little to no consequences both legally or through the youtube space because they're both foreign and profiting from a market that adult whistleblowers can't reach.
yeah, im pretty sure Zomvoid (who did that stuff too) lives in the Philippines, and is 12. but their old channel got banned lmao
@@sericatZomvoid stopped with the clickbait thumbnail stuff and now all he does is test out new plants or test out myths
Primal Gameplay doesn't look as horrible as the other two
It actually isn't that bad, atleast compared to other two
Too bad the creator isn't uploading anymore
0:30 WHAT THEY DID TO MY LITTE BOY EYE OF CHUTHULHU 😡😡😡😡😡
Zombie is angry because these bad PvZ videos are BRAIN rot!
I Watched One of This Videos when i was younger, when i finished adventure mode in pvz 1 i wondered how they get these hacks, when i tried to get in mobile i was wandering around the settings i accidentaly deleted all my data with all the coin purchasable plants.
Gargantuar zombie with the jester pfp is the worst
Most shovelware content like this comes from Asia, where PVZ is very popular (specifically China).
Realistically these things are just mimicing kids channels nit doing much different besides that. 0:48
if you look at their sub count compared to their view count, the video should get more views than subs they have, so my theory is that some of those subs are sub bots or somethin
man it sucks when one of my favorite games growing up turned into the trash known as "fnf poppy playtime squid games among us fnaf pvz2 6000 peashooters vs minecraft zombies"
Man every game gets that these days
5:23 what the fuck “SAVE THE GIRL”
This is what happens if a community is content staved
You can't get money from UA-cam.
That's just stupid.
