Yes, I'm about half way through the video and just had to look for this comment. Mattias was incredible in this one and over all they seem to have changed something. I can't pin it down exactly but there is something fresh and new to this video, they managed to push their usual quality content to another level.

It was very nice seeing Wagner comment about the fact that Germany doesn't have a gender neutral pronome. I'm Brazilian and I suffer the same, we only have the gendered ones "ele" (he) and "ela" (she). Also, in portuguese every adjective has a version specific for each pronoun, so I always end up using a gendered adjective. But there is a group trying to change this and create s gender neutral pronome "elu" (they), so I hope that in s couple of years I'm gonna be able to use it normally at my day to day life.

Same in Russia too. However, in Russian every verb that describes the past also has a gender, it's awful. There're people who use они(they) but because of the verb issue it's very far from being commonly used.
The closest German has to a gender neutral pronoun is sie - which can mean both she and plural they. Possibly, it could be applied to singular they as well. Sie, with a capital S, also is the formal version of you, which is genderless.
@@Sentariana Yeah, Sie would be the equivalent to they if you translate it directly, but it doesn't really have the same gramatical history as a singular use as they does. And it's so close to the german she/her too, isn't it?
I'm from Brazil too and I get it. I don't really use elu, but I have friends that suffer from it. And then you kind of use the "elu" thing right, but then you go and in the conversation uses an adjective or something and it's very hard. It's easier writing because we can correct it later.
It sucks to make our friends unconfortable because our language is not genderless.
I love how Draco was being an ally, and how he asked if Wagner would prefer if miss/mr wasn't used when addressing them. Its such a small thing but it goes such a long way

none of my teachers will use my they/them pronouns, one of them even outed me to my mom. draco is my comfort character and seeing him, as a teacher, (aggressively) respecting and enforcing they/them pronouns makes me so happy, i teared up a bit. thank you for making these videos, it helps me and many others so much.
Yes yes so much yes! I honestly wasn't expecting Draco to understand the pronoun problem immediately and I'm so glad he does! And when Hermione called them miss he corrected her! It's really interesting to see Harry ignoring the actual problem and immediately jumping to "Malfoy hates everyoneand especially Gryffindor". It makes perfect sense for his character though and I'm glad it's being explored! Can't wait for the next one!

I just want to share my thought about German language doesnt have non gendered pronouns, I really did not know that but thank you for sharing it. I just wanted to share that the language I grown up with which is Filipino language, we do not have gendered pronouns but we have a singular they/their which is "siya/niya".
Ohh, that's so great! I'm German and it's true, we don't really have gender neutral pronouns here which is a complete disaster and I hate it so much. That's actually what I'm writing my big essay for German class about so I really loved to see them talking about this issue, so cool! :)
German is my mother tongue and it's honestly ridiculous how gendered it is. Not only do we have different pronouns and straight up gendered words (for example, teacher would be "Lehrer" for a man and "Lehrerin" for a woman), we also gender things. The sun, a flower, a candle are all female; the moon, a star, a table are male. I know the Roman languages like French and Spanish share that trait as well. German also has a neutral gender, but only for things, similar to "it" in English. The weather, a book or a glass are all neutral.
I haven't yet met a non-binary person to discuss German pronouns with, but I know there are about 10 variants invented to solve this issue. That actually seems more confusing to me, but given it's only polite to ask each person what pronouns they themselves prefer I hope I'll manage.
German enbys often searched new pronouns. Some are using nin/nim, sier or xier, ey/em and my new favourite one is the swedish "hen" that could also be used kn German - I haven't thought about it until a few days ago.
And actually there are so many more pronouns and every enby person has to choose or create their own pronouns.
This gendered shit is the reason i hate my mother tongue which is german. I have a lot of friends who identify as they/them and when i talk about them, i always just do it in english so I can use a non gendered pronoun. Even though being born and raised in Germany, I am rly not a fan of it. For a lot of reason, but the language is in the top 3
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We may have non gendered pronouns but the acceptance we have here is not really good. There are so many judgemental and homophobic people here that are mostly the elders. I am just somehow thankful that some of the youth nowadays are more accepting and brave enough to fight things about equality and many more.
I can't wait the day wherein this things are fully accepted and normal.
I was not expecting Draco to be so support of the students pronouns, it shows that even though he may not be open about his sexuality but that he still cares for the people who are open about there sexuality and gender. Can't wait to see this unfold.

Draco creating a student police force by pure manipulation is a very Umbridge move but somehow also very wholesome.
Draco has never been so Slytherin before (on your channel), and I love it! Especially the scene in the library. "Those were not mistakes." Could have been out of Snape's mouth, but Draco is actually doing it for the right reason.
And then we have Carl who's the ultimate innocent bunny, and that Mattias can play both is amazing.
Chris's Gryffindor character is the definition of doing the right thing for maybe the wrong reason, but... it's working. It's definitely working.

i’m from germany and i almost cried when they said that english was their chance because i feel it so hard. i’m currently struggling with my identity again and the only reason i can actually try out they them pronouns is that me and my friends talk nothing but english anyways. it’s a huge struggle tho for day to day life especially when talking to my parents about my nb friend (my mom is transphobic so it adds up to it).
it feels so degrading to know that the actual language is transphobic, that for the language and hence the language speakers you don’t even exist

I was getting into the episode. And when it ended I was like I want more
OH. MY. GOD. Your acting is only getting more and more amazing! All of you were absolutely outstanding! Mattias in particular left me speechless! I have watched practically all of your videos and know perfectly well that Mattias plays both Carl and Malfoy but I completely forgot about this while watching, they felt SO different! It was after the video ended and I was scrolling through the comments and saw someone mention something about Mattias playing both Carl and Draco that I was like "Wait, WHAT??? Weren't they two different peopl-"

Also, the writing! Draco planning two steps ahead and foreseeing the gryffindor students' reaction is so in character and so slytherin! So many things to love here, the gryffindors, the way Draco carries himself as a teacher, Draco caring for his students and helping even if he still doesn't understand the subject 100%, Carl and Wagner's friendship, Hermione (she joins the list of 'things to love about this' automatically I don't make the rules), the ending, Harry still acting on so many of his old habits like being defensive on behalf of gryffindor and STILL being so convinced Malfoy is up to something lmaoooo

Honestly using the righteousness of the Gryffindor student body to make them into your own personal attack squad in defense of one of your students who's getting bullied is such a Slytherin thing to do. Also really sweet, in a roundabout, manipulative kind of way.
