I like the little rubber foot on the bottom of the long PCB, with associated silkscreen outline. No breeze flapping here! I know some other devices which could have used those...
Two jobs ago, they would buy wrapped skids of random objects at an auction...might be a commercial freezer stuffed with 150 watt red bulbs, a 1940s desk with a box of tungar rectifiers on top..just seemingly random things piled up on a skid and wrapped... that's the mental image I have for the origin of this equipment... You've gotten some cool stuff....
That is a serious piece of test gear! I have one, it is crazy fast and precise. Far more accurate than the 53131a. With an OCXO timebase it is easily worth a thousand dollars or more. If it's in half decent nick. Any time nut will lick their drool off the table 😂
I'm still saving for a Pendulum counter. My stuff is so old but it's the best of the best old stuff. Not fast like this counter, but excellent for that they do. 5370B and such.
I'm an analytical chemist, I use some of the newest Agilent HPLC and GC models (amongst other kit) on a daily basis. These modules are foreign to me, yet also familiar; button shapes, fonts used, colour scheme, modular designs etc. I'm a big fan of Agilent kit!
225MHz is just for the main channels A&B. The optional 3rd channel is 3GHz or 12GHz :). But I think this the version intended for use on a lab 10MHz source - the internal standard isn't very accurate .. certainly not the crazy accuracy the counter works to with all those digits. See Gerry Sweeny's video on upgrading it.
Note that these instruments are calibrated after reaching operating temperature. Not sure what Agilent might specify but probably like 30 minutes powered on.
If your signal generator was set to 1000.0001 then the counter would probably have that last 1 going to 2 or 0 instead of all those zeros turning to nines.
How does this storage lockers work? Do you buy it, or rent it? Do you get empty room when you start? What about light, do you have to replace them yourself when they die?

I mean, are you allowed to use whatever bulb you want? Like if you like T8 flurescent tube, can u use that to light your storage unit? How much does it cost? I assume that when you stop paying rent then discovery guys get your stuff?
@@Veso266 Yes, you rent storage units by the month, depending on where you are and how big of a unit you want this can be relatively inexpensive, or as much as renting a small apartment. Most indoor units (around here anyway) have electricity available and some form of lighting, however not all of them have heating or air conditioning and the ones that do are more expensive. Part of the rental contract gives the owner of the storage complex the legal rights to whatever is in the unit if the rent has not been paid, there is usually some protections under the law, so its not like if you're a day late you lose your stuff. You get plenty of warning before they sell all your stuff. That's where the auctions come in, the owner of the storage unit gets some money to cover the lost rent, and the auction buyer comes and cleans it out for them, ready to rent out to the next person. The person who buys the contents is taking a big gamble, its not like you see on TV, the kind of stuff you find in abandoned storage units is the same kind of stuff you'd find in a cluttered basement, the stuff nobody wants, leftover from the last time they moved. Sometimes you get lucky and find enough of value to make a profit.

You rent them out by month, the price can range a lot depending on size, whether there's air conditioning, etc. This one is probably between $150-$250 a month. Smaller ones can go for $50-$80 a month. Normally, there aren't any light bulbs in them because they're small. There's usually lighting in the facility (like a big warehouse with crates). I've never seen one that comes furnished, usually it's just an empty room with a drop down door. I've never used one big enough to even have light bulbs so I really am not sure, but if I had to guess I would say that you can't put any lights in it, you have to use the lights already installed, and replacing the bulb would probably be up to you. The ones I've used have had no electrical connection, though

That's a superb counter for some things. Dabbling in Time-Nuttery is addicting.
You may need to get a 10Mhz reference Oscillator to get them all in sync.
Saw older versions of these in the 90s when I was in the military.
The back plastic part die often on those. I have a 3d model to print if you ever break one.
