Thank you very much for all your information. I was crippled at a very young age with RA. I was fortunate enough to beat it within a 2 year period. Now in my 60's and have battling a resurgence and all the specialist will not listen to me. Only watching your site have found promising information. Now I have promising direction to take.
I had to recerch every avenue. I eventually found different syndromes associated with RA. I think its either sjogrens or the sporadic syndromes. But naturally all the different doctors I see don't want to do anything but play the insurance card. With over a year of my own research and Dr. Diana Gordian I think I'm on the right trail, with God's help!
You have to know how to read the studies…Let say they did a trial for 20,000 people. If one person out of the 20,000 coughed even tho it cannot be proven that the cough is due to the new medication they have to put cough as a side affect ….if 1 Perron out of 20,000 died they have to put didn’t death as a side affect. Patients need to ask their Dr. Out of their patient population and those of their peers have experienced side affects. I have been on Remicade for almost 15 years and have had no issues and I’m now back to work full time ….
Hi Dr Gimita, I have had severe pain in my hands and lower back for a long time. I was treated with stem cells in my hands and lumbar area two years ago. And, since then, I have been better. I can tell you that those alternative therapies have been very helpful to me. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
About 2001 i had my first episode of RA. My thumb got deformed. Went to Rheumatologist, prescribed flucosamine. Got gasreitis. I stop treatment. I started taking omega 3, 400 mgrs, 3 times a day, plus i started using fresh aloe vera juice ( 5 inches of the leaf, peeled and the white gel i put it in a blender with 1/2 cup water, and drank it daily for less than a year together with the omega 3 capsules. My pains resolved, even during the rainny season, i did not have pain. Of course, i always wore ski gloves during winter. I stayed away from pain like for 10 years and i stopped the treatment.
Wow, I was overweight when diagnosed with heart failure, also severe RA, but when doc mentioned the GLP-1 with anti inflammatory effects, that blew my mind. I've been on mounjaro for 4 months, and yes, I've lost weight, but my joints feel better. I wrote it off as just losing the weight. I just equated the weight loss to feeling a bit better. Thank you doctor! For the record, I've been on Mounjaro.
Wow, good that you are feeling better... I have heart failure also, my doc tried to put me on the Mounjaro but the insurance wouldnt pay for the medication because my A1C was normal. They always have an excuse.
No CAR T cell therapy for anything outside of lymphoma in the UK for years yet. Heck, I'd be happy just finding a rheumatologist who listens and treats me rather than just having me random drug A to get rid of me. I've been suffering for 6 years and seem the rheumatologist 3 times. He put me on sulfasalazine and it's absolutely useless 😢
I have UCTD which is an awful painful disease. My rheumatologist only offers me Hydroxychloroquine which causes terrible hives and chest pain. So I take nothing. I’m so hoping for a different treatment.
My insurance has not yet approved my use of glp1 meds for anything. I believe my physician has not requested glp1 meds appropriately. I saw a record where he wrote that I was “obese because she eats too much”. What?? He has never even requested a food diary nor inquired about what or how much I eat. It seems he is uneducated. I have found the mindset of some thin people who have never had a weight problem in their own life or known personally anyone who has, they become very prejudiced and narrow minded against people who are overweight. It is very sad. Much more I could say here but I won’t.
I hear you, Sherri. He sounds, well, in Italian we'd say "pazzo". Advocate for yourself, girl! See someone else. There are 2 of you in that relationship and one of you isn't pulling his OWN weight. With type 2 diabetes and PsA several years ago, I was on Ozempic I got gaspresis can't eat a lot of fiber. I will throw up or extreme diarrhea. My sister is now on Ozempic and exhibiting same symptoms. Be careful. I did lose weight.

2 years ago I have positivr ANA I couldn’t lift my arms. They thought it was Sjogrens or Lupus but apparently my ENA is negative so they ignore that. The rheumatology department discharge me becoz they could not find anything. They told me to start Amytriptalline 30mg-70mg for nerve pain. And on daytime I have naproxen but I stopped becoz I have a bad reflux. I told the rheumatologist that, I felt like when I have a bad reflux it makes my arms to painful. One doctor started me with HRT becoz it might be something to do with my menopause but I was using it for a year and it still not heal. I have lots of supplements for my tummy and I am on lansoprazole as well. I went to carnivore becoz apparently it can heal autoimmune disease. But until now my antibodies is still attacking my own tissues. I am 5”5 tall and weight 57.8kgs. I am not obese. I dont know what else to do

I googled CAR-T therapy and it seems that it’s mainly used to cure cancer patients. When do you think that therapy will be available for RA patients? It’s months, years or decades of waiting to see the therapy in use? Sorry for my errors, English is not my first language.
@ thank you, it gives hope. My boyfriend qualified for biological therapy (it’s not widely available in Poland yet so it’s a great news) but firstly he has to fight inflammation stage. He has meds and we will try to accommodate his diet to help with inflammation. I hope that biological therapy will work but it’s a relief that there is another way if it doesn’t. Thank you for your work and shearing knowledge.
Great information, as always. I too have had several classes of meds stop working for me. Still waiting for approval for another type of medication. I have no doubt the insurance is fighting my doctor's recommendations. In the meantime i just suffer. Doing the most basic things can be painful. I wish i could afford to pay for the meds myself, but they are so unaffordable thousands of dollars a month.
