That's very true, but if you look at the more succesful games, while some are grindy as hell, at least you get something for the grind. Just look at warframe. Yeah you grind a lot, but at least you grind towards getting a new frame or a cool weapon. You feel like you earned something from all the grind. In this game, right now, you grind so you could grind some more. There's no real tangible reward at the end since you don't get really get anything by the end of it. With the Prime Wars... people spend days worth of grinding for resources, spend it all in 10 minutes and get less than 1% of it back all so they could go back to grinding and do it all over again. As I said, some people like grinding just because. I'm not that sort of player as I want a goal or a reward for the grind.
If there was no grinding then people would get soooo bored and look for something else to play. Every game that involves crafting/survival etc contains grinding in one form or another. Good video though :)
I 100% agree with you! Grinding is very much part of such games and is basically a core 'mechanic'. I just wish there were more things to grind. Like, different rewards, different goals to grind towards and so on. Combined with the fact that we now know how the reset works, the majority of things you grind for don't actually carry over, since you have a limited amount of things you can transfer and no one transfers resources. So all that acid you grinded for? Pointless. The only thing people transfer is calibrations and deviants. I think it would be more fun if we just had more stuff to grind for!
It IS a nice touch but I think it needs a bit more thought put into it. It's cool that I can get 1 or two rewards right off the bat but when I just log in and complete the goals right at the start, which nice, feels like it takes away things I could be doing in the game. I didn't complete the entirety of the goals in the 4th phase, so now I at least have stuff to do!
@@Comrade_Del I can see that point. And this(somehow) reminds me of a time i played D2(Destiny 2) with clan. Some of my clan mates always go "Bruh" when Bungie didn't do something retroactive within the current season: "(looking at first challenge week 1)Ugh, i had to do this thing again, even though i already did it. (Looking at second challenge week 1) Huh? But this one for some reason IS retroactive. What!?". And that makes me think, that it would be good if each phase had more unique goals rather than universal ones?
@@dedboyanowitch6308 Yeah, if they had challenges that are maybe related to the activities of that phase maybe? Something like that would be fun perhaps! I mean, in phase 4 one of the challenges was to find 15 different fish... I think I did that like back in phase 1 lol. It's still the first season so maybe they'll make something more interesting in the future!
I would say, i do agree on your points in the video. I would also say, that you repeat yourself often enough for me to notice it. Which feels... (phrasing).. slightly irritated(i guess). I feel this video can be noticeably shorter.
I knooooow! I had to edit this after all and listen to it several times! Then again, it at least gets my point across quite effectively. The last vid when I made this point, people just thought I was dumb and didn't know how to get acid when I suggested events could give different rewards like acid or fuel for example. I was using that as an example of let's say "Oh I need this resource, how nice that there's this and that event that can help me get it!" to spice things up and make these events more useful and worth doing. Either way, I learned my lesson and if I ever do one like this, I'll remember to keep it short and to the point lol
Oh no my grindy RPG game has grindy RPG elements in it! p.s. you're dying to the boss cuz you dont understand the mechanics which are extremely intuitive and if you read the text on your screen or look at the floor when they happen you will understand! :D
Yeah no. If you actually watched the video, you'd see that he did a normal attack. They don't break the floor. The only time the floor breaks is during the phase where he teleports out and you're marked by the red target aura. THOSE attacks break the floor. Regular attacks actually don't. And this, good sir, was a regular attack.
the falling through the floor is a mechanic you're failing to resolve properly. He does an attack where he slams the platforms and damages them. Each platform can take a maximum of 3 hits and the 3rd hit would destroy that platform, so you need to distribute what he hits, so he doesn't destroy any of the platforms. That's not a bug or lack of playtesting that's just you failing to resolve the mechanic properly
Nope! As someone who beat the boss and knows the mechanic you'd see that this was a normal attack, not the attack that actually breaks the floor. The one that breaks the floor happens during the phase where he teleports out, you then get marked by a red aura and then he slams his fist on the platform, which can take 3 hits before breaking. As you can see in the video... this was a normal attack, which doesn't break the floor... which you can also see in the video, that the floor doesn't break. So yeah, telling this is a skill issue is not the correct answer since it's obvious in the video that the floor doesn't break and that I just clip through it. Since it happened to me multiple times until I beat it, yeah and I know other people in my server that this happened to them... yeah, not an intentional mechanic.
It's hard for me to fully agree with you, as I feel you are missing clear progression options that, to be fair, are not fully informed to the player without outside knowledge from forums or spreadsheets. I will say, that there are things in the game that do need fixing or more rewards for your time. If you are not min/maxing your stats and doing constant build upgrades, I can see why you feel that there is no reason to go back to bosses/silos. Both bosses and silos have specific mod drop pools, that you can target farm to progress your build. The progression doesn't end at +10 and +6. Mods are massive for builds. Weapon blueprints, with the right stats, can significantly boost your damage. You want certain rolls on them in order to make your loadout shine. Not only that, but you can farm deviants in boss monoliths and silos. The harder the content, the better rolls you can get on said deviants and mods. There is much to be said here about the limited Starchrom per season, seasonal wipe of progress, and knowing how much content we'll have to repeat and grind in following seasons that I can't fit all here. Hopefully, for both of us, the game will continue to improve in a positive direction. Thanks for making this video.
Thank you for your words! I'm aware that it doesn't end at +6 and +10 and that you can further improve your builds... but I'm a casual player that can play maybe 2-3 hours a day, as are many others. Considering the timed nature of the game, taking your time with farming those is not really viable since eventually the wipe will happen and quite possibly render your build useless, as they are still not clear on how many things you could actually transfer to the new season. On the screen we can see that we will have 20K of whatever currency it is, but it's unknown how much it'll cost. What if you can transfer maybe one gun and only a couple of armor pieces and that's it? Not to mention it'll be level locked to lvl 40, so you'll be forced to just recraft all these weapons. Thank god we at least keep out mods as otherwise there would be no point to making builds... but what if you CAN'T transfer ALL the mods? What if we need to pay for them with that currency? A lot of tiny things still remain unclear. We keep all those things in the Eternaland... but how much can we actually transfer to the new season? Wish they would clarify that but I guess we will just have to wait. As I've said in the vid, I don't mind the grind at all but only as long as I'm grinding towards something. I've spent years playing warframe and that game is grindy too, but there at least I was grinding towards getting a cool new frame or a weapon. In here, at least for now as hopefully they'll do something about it eventually, you only have to grind towards min/maxing your build but if you're not interested in that... not much else to grind for.
Honestly the gane is made to be a grind I get that your seauing your not getting alot and that it seems like non of the resources or items or builds will convert over But the game just released. They still have alot to chnage and add. And so far the gane is very fun and has alot If your playing all day 8h a day . Yeah your going to reqch end gane fast. But thats the point of a seasonal gane. Grind pvp and deatroy bases ans get a base up and make it bigger and badder. The reason i play is bevause of the grind and reset. When i end the season. Im not looking for rewards . Im looking to start over again after a good season and be a fresh lvl 1 and continue the grind again. This timeni can do pve. And build more. Or make farms. Or i can only pvp. Focus on being a ass to everyone around me. The gane has alot to offer. Your focus is farming grinds and bosses. Who cates about the story. We want to just run around and find stuff. I dont wanna be able to do the same boss over and over.
I wont lie. what your talking about is not an actual issue in the game. In fact you mentioned that the grind loops on itself when that's not the case. U also complained about the Giant boss when the mechanic take some time to learn. and u can actually dodge the hand sweeping attack. The map breaking is apart of his mechanic. pretty easy when you notice it. The real issue does come down to something similar to what you mentioned. and its really the time vs value aspect of the game. not looping. Some missions/Quests/Silos/Raids or ect have rewards that are similar but not increased based on time or difficulty. Ex. why do the Centaur Event when you can get the same amount of controllers and ect from dancing and throwing bombs at the disco dance event? Why fight the Final boss solo in Silo Theta when it throws poison and ads plus drop ur sanity when u can quick farm the boss in the Seepage zone? why fight Manibus in the world event (encounter) for 1 controller (or 0.1% towards the server wide rewards, when the prime war gives more, but barely much in comparison to the required amount for each goal?) just to repair ur weapon to do like 3 more when they do spawn. The issue with the game is TIME vs VALUE. its the exact same issue PVP servers are faced with or even the few PVP content in PVE servers. some stuff are just not worth doing but you at time feel compelled to do it at times for whatever the reason may be. they need to work on making things more valuable as they have with other modes or missions. also dropped weapons need a rework.
I'm aware that he destroyes the sections of the map in the fight, yeah. What I showed in the vid is me getting hit by the slam and getting pushed and clipped through the still existing floor to fall to my death and having to restart the fight xD Took me a few tries later but I beat him eventually but gosh, never again. The issue of clipping through the floor when hit was so annoying... And yes, TIME vs VALUE is definitely lacking in the game. There's really no real worth to doing like over half of the late game content in the game, which is quite a problem in my opinion. It's still early and maybe the devs are aware and will adress it in the future. I sure hope so because if they don't... well, right now my server is collectively moaning over how PW is dumb and how they don't ever want to do it again because the cost of the stuff you need to beat it is just not freaking worth it for what you get in return. And dropped weapons are a joke and worthless. I don't think anyone uses them at all besides breaking them down for their parts.

So like I said... the reward for all the grind is... more grind? And we don't grind for cosmetics, weapons and gear. We grind for Starchrom. But here's the thing, you get the Starchrom only once in the PW for example. You do it once and then you don't need it. Now there's the phase goal and people HAVE to do it... why? Because people want the starchrom. I talk with people on my server. Once they beat a previous PW they never do it again as they view it as a waste of time. lol I literally said that I didn't no-life play it. I played it casually and I didn't min-max the shit out of it and I ran out of things to do within 3 weeks due to lack of engaging content. Plus, I literally mentioned that I like this game! It's more than decent for a new free to play release. I just don't want the game to be hurt over something that is easily so fixed. I feel the game has potential mainstay power and stick around for a long while.
@@Comrade_Del welp the new dev log should be for you.
