This is the video I'm searching for many years since childhood...my father is loco pilot in southern railways..Thanks for making this excellent video...
What’s really mind boggling is how mad it is at dispatch. Making sure all the trains get on the right track, at the right time to get to their scheduled destinations on time, without having collisions or delays. The whole system has to work perfectly every time to achieve this. Everything from proper signaling, track switching, siding stationing, to allow other trains to pass on the same line, and making sure the train isn’t to long to fit in the siding to avoid a disaster. Maintenance is also key to avoid breakdowns, which causes further delays. The locomotive industry is a true modern marvel in itself, moving millions of tons of freight of all kinds, efficiently, and smoothly every year, to ensure that we have the products to keep the world moving. Everything we own was likely at one time shipped by rail at some point in it’s journey of delivery, to get to us.
Watching the wheels of a train move over the points and the noose never gets old.....it’s so amazing! This is what made me a railfan since my very early childhood. Many thanks for the video! 👌👌👌👍🙏🙏🙏
I would have been more impressed if it were the driving wheels of a steam locomotive, it always fascinated me as a child how they managed to manoeuvre over changing points. Then later in life I realised the driving wheels have leaf springs meaning they have the ability to move up and down which then blew my mind even more.
This is the best video of its type that I have seen on U-tube. Great Job!! As I was watching the train wheel on the track I realized that to the wheel, the track is unchanging. Its all one track from the wheel's perspective. Maybe there is some philosophical point to be made here but I can't seem to get my head around it. Great job, I subbed.
Really fantastic, but my question is how the driver is operated.line is pathetic, there are lot of loops connected. During night or rainy season how they operated there is no any confussion.
very interesting shots. the flange's inside fillet can b 1" away from the rail's inside edge n still, it's OK. But at some points: Squeek squeek, too tight, too tight! N it says It's alright, it's alright!
This is feckin railway porn lol - absolutely brilliant and intense viewing lol. Something fascinating about wheel flanges travelling through frog gaps.. no idea why lol
