This OST clearly reveals that the Belmont Soul have been inherited by the Morris Clan.
For me, this is the theme of sacrifice. John gave his life for the world.
Seo Vania
But I don't agree with the Belmont Soul inherited by Morris Clan. Morris isn't Belmont, nor Belmont's weaker version. John and Jonathan have their own style: the Morris style. And remember: John's boomerang and lightning whip, Jonathan's ninja skills (martial arts and a lot of subweapons: he even has shurikens and kunais!) and the "I CAN TAKE IT" stance!
I CAN TAKE IT
I CAN TAKE IT
I CAN TAKE IT
Oh God damn it I have it in the head thanks to you XD
This song should have been in Portrait Of Ruin! And Richter Mode should have been John Mode (with Eric), for SOTN had a Richter Mode already! I mean, Richter is a very good and strong character, but John Morris deserved a place in Portrait Of Ruin as a bonus character!
Firion
In Bloodlines, John fights with the Vampire Killer whip and Eric with a spear. There are some differences in gameplay too. Want classic castlevania gameplay? John is your man. Want new original gameplay? Go with Eric.
*****
Yes, but it was irrelevant, since in that case, Battle Of The Holy would have been more appropriated for Christopher.
Milan Malfait
Appropriated for Christopher? Like Battle of The Holy (UNUSED) Rebirth xD
this song makes me cry because of the memories
This is the one of the best tracks to come out of the genesis, hats off to Michiru Yamane, I didnt know it was possible to make a song this good on the genesis!!
Pity this song isn't in Smash. Only 1 Bloodlines track made the cut. There's still some really good music in there though.
Sonic 3's soundtrack is proof enough that its possible to make good music like that on the genesis
The genesis has a lot of great soundtracks, sounds like you just haven't played or heard much
I love the fact that my home state TEXAS was represented in a classic CastleVania game.
I remember playing this Game as Teenager back then and it was awesome. Underrated Castlevania Title. I hear Cordova Town Theme from Curse of Darkness in this Masterpiece. Michiru Yamane
+GustaveTheSteel Why is Michiru Yamane's music so perfect? I cant stop listening to all his themes!
GustaveTheSteel Sorry for that, obviously I know she is a woman, I am spanish and sometimes I make mistakes about pronouns.
n_nU
With Ayami Kojima and Iga, the best team ever. I am very grateful for their works.
Michiru Yamane's very first Castlevania Soundtrack and its still the Best EVER! 22 years later...next to SOTN...its one of her very best
He didn't even say he disliked Castlevania 3, he just said it was hard.
God, EVERY part of the song gives me the chills... I love it for that.
esta cancion siempre se me qeda pegada en la cabesa XD
Off to kick Dracula's immortal ass back to his crypt!
This has to some of the best music on the MegaDrive/Genesis and is probably the most technologically impressive by far. The woman who composed it, Michiru Yamane, pushed the Sega machine's sound chip to absolute limits and produced brilliant music. She later went on to compose Symphony of the Night =)
there is a lot of anger and vengeance in this piece, I love it
I sure love GBA castlevanias most but damn.. Bloodlines has most of my most favourite tracks. Been so many years :).
One of the most beautiful soundtrack on SEGA Genesis!
0:16 My god... I swear I can hear the squeaking sounds in my head of those monsters dying, and the candles being hit while listening to this. What a master piece, Im not sure if this is just beautiful or if it's my nostalgia clouding me, hopefully both, ahah
Hi, person who just discovered this with no attached nostalgia, happy to report it is indeed ridiculously good 😄
They're pulling from nearly every Castlevania OST for the Dead Cells DLC classic option good God. The distillery has this, High Castle has the Abandoned Castle from Curse of Darkness, Ramparts are Castle Corridor from Aria of Sorrow, Clock Tower is Tragic Prince from Symphony of the Night, and I still haven't reached every area.
This song almost sounded like Fillmore from ActRaiser.
Hearing this song in Castlevania the Adventure Rebirth just made me want to play this game
Portrait of Ruin is a direct sequal to this game :D
By literal "direct" logic, none of the Castlevania games have direct sequels. But Portrait of Ruin, takes place over 20 years after Bloodlines, about a generation later.
Uh yeah they do. Castlevania to Simon's Quest as said already.
The Aria games, Rondo and Symphony? :l
@@nictheperson6709 Symphony of the Night is a straight-up direct sequel to Rondo of Blood tho.
I'd simp for this game any day.
however you look at it, in my opinion every castlevania should be like this one
One of the very best of the series.
The best
the ost is amazing
Metal sound genesis
I love this track!!!
the legendary left handed John Morris who was dying along the game, a true hero!
This is what you call: Castlevania Music
That tune at the beginning though still give me the creeps
How does every castlevania game have fucking incredible music. From the first to the current game, every game has nothing but amazing tracks.
Best... Castlevania... Track!!!
And thus, Michiru Yamane takes her first glorious Castlevania step towards Legend.
His sprite is even better, with a shoulder width enough to make Fist of the North Star's Kenshiro jealous.
This is the first and only Castlevania I've ever played in my cousin's house . I haven't gotten around to finishing it yet
The year I was born lol
I´m your biggest fan, listen to this cover since 3 years ago
One of the best Castlevania Songs EVER!
Wished this track appeared as a 35th track in Smash Ultimate. I have really fond memories of this game (it's easily my favorite Genesis game). At least Iron Blue Intention is in.
Sega announces Mini Genesis, this game is included. I'm happy :)
Gunstar Heroes has some of the best music that I have ever heard for a game period!!!
THE most under rated game for the castlevania series.
Man, this is definitely one of my all time favorite Castlevania games. I love this game so fucking much.
This is fantastic. This is even better than the Famicom Castlevania 3 soundtrack. I wouldn't have thought that was possible. Thank you for the upload. I love pre-SotN Castlevania music.
That's what it's called? YES! Getting it on MP3! I haven't played this since I was 7, yet randomly this song will STILL come into my head! Michiru Yamane, you are a MUSIC GODDESS!!!! XD NEVER STOP DOING WHAT YOU'RE DOING!
One of the most underrated games of all time!
Badass track
this ost and game are so underrated. this game and soundtrack kicks ass.
I’m here after playing the game as well as witnessing a malfunctioning wolf
Never gets old!
I've played some great games recently, Assassins Creed, Call of Duty, even newer Castlevania games. Yet this game stil manages to be my favourite.
beat song in game. captures the whole spirit of castlevania!
one of the best ost for a game in the castlevania franchise.
Ahh... I am honored to have this game be the first game i EVER played :D CASTLEVANIA FTW!!!
Awesome, mitic and nostalgic
This shall always be the first Castlevania theme ive ever heard! :D
Fun with John and Eric.
My god I loved this game so much. I started playing it again when I got a Genesis emulator, so many memories being relived. John Morris was an awesome character, too bad he died soon after the events of Bloodlines. :(
this is very epic, the remix from castlevania rebirth is awesome as well.
I don't know why I'm crying its soooo good man 😭😭😭😭😭
Well, for people who think that this one is inferior, you always have to remember which one (Bloodlines or CV4) paved the way for the fast paced versions we have today. That would be Bloodlines. :)
And, as always, Konami is one of the few to truly exploit a system's true potential.
This track and Iron Blue Intention certainly puts the Bloodlines OST on the damn map doesnt it
This music is fucking good!! I love castlevania 3, and the music is the same style, is love it!
For real? The one who created this ost game track is Japanese?.. my god how, how, this is so darn awesome. The instrument music got the gothic and dark era feeling. So many japanese composer amazingly creative.
Being a Castlevania fan, I think that prize should go towards Circle of the Moon's. Dracula's final form there is hardcore stuff.
I like this game. They must port this to current gen consoles imediately.
The theme is awsome. However my favourite is still Richter Belmont's theme.
my favourite Castlevania game, I still can't beat this game XD
You know there's an extra part to this song's intro that you never hear in the soundtrack...You only hear it on the Sega during gameplay. I'm tempted to connect my Sega to record this little extra big with the whole song.
oh man i was 8 years old with my sega 16 bit genesis back in Argentina i used to play games all night to see what happened next i missed my childhood now im 24 year sold and i still play games but is not the same.
This hits hard
what a bangin tune.
damn
Now THIS is how you use the genesis' sound chip
I've always like Bloodline's music, it's oh so catchy.
i think it's the other way around. a lot of the newer Castlevania themes have a little bit of the old school music in them. I swear Mortivia Fountain is a remix of Bloody Tears.
Best castlevania song in my opinion.
Thanks for that!
This is a very good castlevania game. Maybe some think that it's not the best but... overall, it's, without doubt , the most epic. Castlevania essence at it's full. And you people know what I mean.
is it just me or does the first stage of every castlevania game KICK ASS?!
Oh hell yeah it does!
The muffled sound comes from samples being played at lower notes than their native pitch, then being subjected to the chip's awful filter. The RAM was locked at 64kb which limited the amount of sounds you could have for song (though compression tricks were sometimes used in the later SNES era).
The Gen/SNES music debate is a bit stupid because they can't really be compared. One is a synthesizer and the other is a sampler, and they need to be used with their respective strengths in mind.
Greatest frist level music period
Amazing soundtrack. ;)
Correct. It's also where House Lecarde debuted with Eric.
Some of the best music on the Genesis
@Dooke80 The YM2612 was not capable of having reverb. The only thing it could do to alter the sound was it's sine wave LFO. The thing you think is reverb here, is simple the notes being held, then faded out.
agreed. anyone who doesn't needs to have their ears checked.
@TROLLWITHBIGBALLS true. of course, his use of the vampire killer whip eventually killed John, but his son Jonathan would later carry on with his legacy in Portrait of Ruin.
This song slaps
I just played this for the first time in ages, and this song seems so familiar. Is it because I played this as a kid? I don't think it is for some reason...
Can you believe I played this when I was but a wee lad? With the GA rating, I wouldn't doubt it... Of course, I never played it in the actual 90's, I was born much later than that and was raised on the good ol' 16-bit systems.
long live the classics
Haunting indeed...one of the best CV themes out there and highly underrated! Castlevania for Genesis was more engaging musically than it's contemporary on Super Nintendo, but SCVIV was in a way..superior, but not by leaps and bounds...
Castle-ish with echoes? Check.
Done in ye olde Castlevania style? Check.
Pushing the sound chip to the max? Check.
Catchy? OH HELL YES.
One of THE BEST MASTERPIECE GAME BGM I ever heard!! Among All game consoles!! Japaneese game composers - rulez!!!!!!!
eric is the best non belmont in the series....that Alucard Spear is GODLIKE
Michiru Yamane draws great influence from Bachian progressions, she's absolutely fantastic
YES I'm just listening to this as a music nerd and just.. fuck, she gets more out of the Genesis sound chip than most composers get out of their whole band.
This was actually composed by Yasushi Asada, according to the castlevania fandom wiki
@@Robert96902 Well, I don't know what the Castlevania wiki editors are smoking, but I sure as shit don't want any. Yasushi Asada worked on Castlevania: Judgment and the DLC music for Harmony of Despair, Michiru Yamane scored Bloodlines. Asada was 14 when it came out, ffs.
@@ManiacalForeigner Even so, if that wasn't the case, I can tell this was 100% made by Michiru Yamane since her musical style is pretty recognizable as well, specially from her way of ending songs in 1:06 that sounds way similar to the ending of "Tragic Prince" in SOTN.
@@fanboy1148 Yup.
