I think the pantone painting idea is still so cool and I'm glad you're taking it on, those chickens are so cute! Can't wait to see what color you do next.
idk if this would work, can't personally vouch for this, but it might be an idea to coat the pantone square in matte medium or clear gesso first, so there's better adhesion and a nicer surface for the paint you end up using. From experience I know that traditional gouache isn't particularly good at sticking to glossy surfaces - at least, when I tried to put some gouache elements (it was Reeves tho so like...) on top of burnished colored pencil, some places flaked off. Traditional gouache is also a bit brittle, so that might lend to it not sticking to glossy paper that well. Without the adhesion, if the paper flexes, the gouache may not flex enough and will therefore crack. If the method you used in this episode worked for you, though, no reason to fix what's not broken!
I was thinking of getting some kind of workable matte fixative for the future cards! I sprayed the final one with a matte fixative and it seems pretty secure, as long as it's handled with care of course (as all paintings should be!). Thanks for the tips!
@@JelArts np, i'm just like... super in love with Liquitex's clear gesso recently?? I want to use it for everything, though it is a bit pricey, so I have to be a bit selective about how I'm using it...
This ids just beautiful. The chi hens look simple but the wreath is what brings whole painting together as well as framing those cute chickens.I love this 🥰
Love the postcard, it came out so cute! Good job on persevering through to the end, the result was great. Also, I love that intro, it was really stylish and cool.
this is perfect timing I just got a himi gouache paint kit and was wanting some motivation to paint with them and I love to draw along to your videos they are so creative and calming
It looks great! I think I've seen other folks either prime the paper with gesso or sand the paper a little to give it some tooth. I don't know if that'll rub away all the color though. :)
I got the pantone postcard set for the same reason - to try and challenge myself with art a little c: I've tried paint markers on them so far, which also work pretty well, though you definitely need to layer them a few times and be careful not to go too thick (because cracks) I was planning to use gouache for the next ones, glad to see it works out well! Those chickens are adorable
@@JelArts I used a combination of Posca and Edding markers. I will say, after more recently trying acrylic gouache on one of those cards, I feel like the gouache does layer on better though.
I really have to get those cards to send to my art friends across the world 😀 red can be an angry colour to start with, the green is much better and lovely looking chooks!
Hi!! Could you try using a sta-wet/stay-wet (not sure of the spelling) palette for your acryla gouche - you can diy a version instead of buying a branded one
I say this because of legal reasons but in the video you said that you weren't sponsored for the blackwing related things but then stated they sent you product and want you to speak on it...that's still considered a type of sponsorship. Whether it be for product or money...I would be careful as malicious parties might call that out.
@@FaithfulFrets it’s called reality. I don’t see anything wrong with informing others of the potential of companies always trying to make a buck. So calm down punejuice
I was worried about the same thing. JelArts is obviously super capable running her business but I wondered if she was given some bad information by the people who sent the products, because that didn’t seem right to me. Some companies misinform creators about ads in order to benefit themselves and it ends up on the creator’s shoulders when it happens.

I think you did great, your art gives a "raw" painting vibe and that resonates to me if i want to buy a postcard
Thank you! I appreciate it :)

Thank you! I'm excited too :)
This is brilliant, I love how the base colour makes the painting so cohesive. 😊
So beautiful sharing🔔🔔👌
The final piece is adorable! I love the color choices!
I really liked this super cute painting and can't wait to see more!

It looks too cute! 😍 These cards are a good possibility to create small fast artworks! I like the idea! Thanks for sharing, yours Xoonani!
The Chickies turned out so cute!! What a great idea for a challenge, would love to try this myself 😍
Thank you! You should totally do it! It can be at your own pace and you don't even need to to every colour!
What a fun idea. I like the way it turned out.
Thank you SO much for using our new music in here!!
You're so welcome! I love using your music in my videos!
this is perfect timing I just got a himi gouache paint kit and was wanting some motivation to paint with them and I love to draw along to your videos they are so creative and calming
I hope you have fun with the gouache!
I bet posca pens would be a great way to line these!
I love that you chose chickens haha
That came out so cute. 🥰
This is so awesome! I would love to see more of these!! 💕💕
Glad to hear that! :)
Idk what it is about this video, but I feel like something about your production has improved.
I learned how to properly colour correct in post, so maybe that's why? I'm glad you think so, though! :)
You have very good problem-solving skills, and I love your animal artwork! So 🥰🥺
Thank you!! I'm happy to hear that :)
This turned out so pretty 💕

Paint markers sounds like they would be great. I wish I had more paint markers. Which ones do you use?

Yes they can be so fun to just send as regular postcards!
it's the chicken trinity lol
wow this is such a cool idea :D is this a challenge going around? i swear i've never seen it before!
this turned out so good!! I would love to see what you end up doing with the other 99!! (it's ok if you don't do all of them/anymore tho!)
I hope to do them all but that's quite ambitious - it will be a loooong project haha

That's a good idea! I've never used a sta-wet palette before but my prof in college recommended them to us.
luv the video! I've just subsribed!!

(if they didn't ask you to speak on it in your vids that would be different)

This trend seems absolutely pointless to me. I really do not understand it.
