In December Plymouth were going well, Home Park was a fortress, everything looked great. Then Stoke stole their manager. After flirting with relegation themselves, Plymouth are visiting the Bet 365 this weekend with revenge in mind. Steven Schumacher led Plymouth to the Championship and now he fights for his own teams survival. This will be a spicy one, we are previewing the game and reviewing contracts, who should stay and who should go?

Love to hear what Craig's thoughts are this morning. Talking to a group of Plymouth fans leaving the ground on Saturday they said they were lucky to get nil, vlogs calling it the worst away performance of the year. And to clear up " begging supporters to go and watch Stoke " our owners really look after us and regularly reduce prices to get us in to watch small unattractive clubs like yours Craig! You should get out more.

I think fans see things differently to the players and managers. As fans we think about revenge or scheuy getting some karma but I believe that the players are professionals and will be getting on with trying to win the game. Hopefully we both stay up - even if we win. 😂COYG!!
Speak for yourself lad, I and many other Argyle fans have nothing but respect for Schuey and are grateful for what he did for us in his years with us, and we wish him well in his career (apart from tomorrow's game obviously). Just try really hard to grow up eh?

Not sure what all this stuff about 'the way he left' relates to? I know that he was asked not to return to the ground by the CEO, but he did speak to many of the senior players on the phone to say goodbye, and texted every member of the squad too. Are the fans sad enough to be upset that he didn't issue a statement for them? Grow up, it's business, he did us proud, and had a great opportunity to advance his career AND Argyle's board sanctioned the talks and the move.

Interesting.If Stoke win,Argyle will be back in the mix at the bottom,and Stoke will be more-or-less safe,you`d have thought.It`s a big if though.We`ve only won 6 home games all season playing dire football.We`ve got no back-bone either, and find it hard to win games when the chips are down,and teams come at us.If Argyle score first,Stoke will not win.We`ve not won a single game at home when going behind.It`s amazing that we can still get gates of around 22,000 every game given the state the team are in, the awful football we play.,and the fact that we haven`t been anywhere near the top half in six seasons.I suppose it helps selling 18,000 plus season tickets,but only 3 seasons ago that number was nearer 25,000.Something has to change,and quickly.Whether that means Schumacher stays is debatable.If he does I wonder if we`ll try to get Whittaker in.Definately half the squad will go,(I`d only keep 3 maybe 4)ncluding Ennis who`s soon sunk to the level of the rest of the team.
Even if we lose we would only need one point from two games. Argyle only average 16,500 home attendance but we could double that at the moment if we had a bigger stadium, not bad considering we're fighting in a relegation battle in or first season back in the Championship for decades. Stoke couldn't afford Whittaker and signing players like Ennis would suggest a sense of financial desperation maybe looming for you guys. 1 - 2 COYG! 😜
@@humptydumpty9177 So,to double your attendance would then put you on level pegging,or thereabouts with Stoke.You may not be aware but Stoke were looking at extending the stadium towards 40,000,but relegation put paid to that.Financially,it`s only compliance with ffp which holds us back.Having billionnaire owners though is obviously no guarantee of success,far from it.We`ve spent £150m since relegation and are worse now than when we went down.Our recruitment record is laughable and one of the reasons why we`re so poor on the pitch.The fans are at breaking point and have been voting with their feet.Argyle,by contrast seem to be a well run club,with the momentum still from promotion and winning games of football.Even if we stay in this league,I reckon Schuey will go,along with a good few of the playing squad.Personally,I`d probably keep 6/7,the rest can leave.We then need to sign good young championship players and Whittaker seems to fit the bill.I doubt whether he`d be too expensive.I hope, you stay up `cause I enjoyed my trip to your ground earlier in the season.I think you will.If we don`t improve our recruitment,we`ll go down next season.

I could tell you a very long story of how we have gone from a nearly 40,000 capacity to just over 16,000 over the years that involved all sorts of skulduggery but it would be in a book by the time I had finished, least to say, those days are over and we now have great owners. I hope we do stay up because I think the Championship is better for having a club like ours, in fact I think football is. I am reasonably confident that we will stay up now that the feel good factor has returned to Home Park. As for you guys I think you will as well but you still won't be secure after playing on Saturday! 😉

Your are correct. Stoke have had a poor season. But the amount of shite been spouted 2 or 3 weeks ago how plymouth were going to relegate Stoke was laughable.
