Venus is supremely elegant in her pink dress. If I had to say something, this should be it. Although, Sister Serena has been overall much more successful in terms of wins and titles, I've always liked watching Venus in action far more. I have found her more athletic, more artistic, a ballerina on the court when at the top of her form. The way she moves to the net is a thing of sheer suppleness and beauty. As a tennis player in motion, Venus remains much more feminine, graceful, harmonious and beautiful than any other player, be it Martina Navratilova, Maria Sharapova, or Anna Kournikova. In fact, Venus Williams would be my choice if we were ever asked which of the women players embodies for us the ideal, the epitome of a female tennis player from all angles and perspectives - looks, skills, mobility, grace, temperament and personality. That is quite an endorsement.
We all know the issue Venus had was mental. Serena wasn’t necessarily always a better or more capable player than Venus. But she ALWAYS wanted to WIN. And Venus struggled with her mental game in their matches, especially in finals when the stakes, expectations and nerves were highest. Venus is Top 10 greatest.
Those racquets were supposed to be powerful “nano” technology at the time, however they actually hurt the sisters game because they created a strange loopy Aranxta shot instead of a flat laser like shot. I remember using them as a teen and they were extremely inaccurate. It felt like holding a giant trampoline. You can see Serena really struggling to make the adjustments to flatten the ball but it would fly off too quick and land right into the net. The Williams racquet game really elevated once they switched back to a smaller head.
This was still early stages of the 'Serena Slump' where Serena had her worst ~2 years on the tour before starting to bounce back in early 2007. It was hard to watch then and it's hard to watch now. Also that frying pan of a tennis racquet was NOT it...!
That huge racket hindered their play Once she changed it she started seeing results she did win the Australian open with it but barely ...too much power that they both did not need
@Shinobu Tsurubushi Not entirely sure that's relevant here. My 'Serena slump' comment had nothing to do with losing this match and everything to do with the stats of this period of her career relative to her overall career.
Watching this i'm wondering why Serena and Venus both played with larger racket heads in their early careers when they typically offer less control. When in their careers did they switch to a smaller racket head?
Their matches together have always been more hype than actually classic. Something is off when they play together. Maybe its because they know each others game so well.
To imagine that Venus has been stopped 3 times by Clijsters the years she actually was in title shape... 05, 09, 10. Hell and even 07 stopped by the other Belgium threat Henin. Smh
The 05 and 10 matches I strongly suspect it was that damn disease messing with her stamina. The 07 and 09 matches she played at higher level but just got outplayed. The 05 and 10 matches had she gotten by Clijsters, she likely would’ve won both titles.
EVEN SERENA HAS SAID MANY MANY TIMES THAT VENUS BETTER, VENUS CARES MORE ABOUT TAKING CARE OF BABY SIS THAN SHE DOES ABOUT BEATING HER AND I DONT BLAME HER!
Tennis Analysis no she wasn’t 🤯, she was almost january 2007 level here - and even if she was, she was a machine in 2015 - obviously very muscular and fit.
I don’t think she was over weight ,for me I think that she was just unfit like as In poor cardio and endurance. She doesn’t look fat but definitely out of shape.
The best thing that makes my day, watching my duo idols fight against themselves.
Some of the shots in this match are just... CHEF'S KISS! SO GOOD!!
Whenever venus play it always great to watch but when she win over serena is something else, she is calm and her sportsmanship is great

So true.
So true but this is not pink but lavander purple.
I agree
Beautiful, well said. Regardless of what, to me, venus is the best
And i agree with all of it.

Wow I thought I was seeing something strange and you perfectly put it into words! Thank you
Oh, please...
@@MalibuGlow I have ad much knowledge as you! You're just knitpicking...trying g to sound important!
One of my favorite outfits from Venus ever.
Mines too her best rbk outfit
I loved Serena's outfit in 2004 US Open the tight shorts her naval ring and her sexy dangly earrings Serena was so sexy back than.😍
Low key, I kinda miss when Venus wore Reebok, it was actually my favorite active wear to wear as a kid.
Wow those racquet heads are humongous
great match for Venus, but honestly that moment at 1:24:45 between the ball girl and ball boy, was the cutest
Always admired Venus more than Serena. When Venus lost 4 back to back slam finals to Serena I was so much upset.
Venus played so well with this racquet in 2005.
She did i use to have that racquet
I have both of those rackets big as a frying pan
Venus played so well… love to see her shine! Outfit is 🔥
37:50 it’s all fun and games
Venus outfit though 🤩
All Williams battle on R4 US Open, world class match of the Williams sister 👍👍👍
Iconic
Great match

@@NehemiahsMusic1 Exactly.
I thought I would never watch women's tennis again during the Serena slump
Serena know better than to try and battle Venus at the net 💀 It’s the one area of Serena’s game that was never that strong and she didn’t care much...
how about some more ads, USTA?
Watching this i'm wondering why Serena and Venus both played with larger racket heads in their early careers when they typically offer less control. When in their careers did they switch to a smaller racket head?
i believe the beginning of 2007. i could be wrong though.

Vee!!!!
i don't believe venus lost to clijsters in the quarterfinals
i still dont get how she lost that one. if she won i believe she would have won the whole thing
pure robbery.
59:29 the camera man is just cruel
This was painful to watch...both shadows of their former selves when they were the best in the world. 💯

Sim aff 😤 05 ela saiu na frente e em 2010 ela tava ótima também saiu na frente, em 07 se tivesse passado pela hennin levaria o título
Whewww these were the dark ages for Serena. And WHY was she using that giant FLY SWATTER as a racquet?? 💀
Right????!!!!
Exciting match, great from Venus. Serena's footwork was clumsy, lazy and slow during this match. never realised at the time.
Serena Williams was my favourite player back than it was such a shame she didn't play well this match.
EVEN SERENA HAS SAID MANY MANY TIMES THAT VENUS BETTER, VENUS CARES MORE ABOUT TAKING CARE OF BABY SIS THAN SHE DOES ABOUT BEATING HER AND I DONT BLAME HER!
Absolutely tragic performance from Serena. She had no business playing Wimbledon and the US Open that year.
She had no business playing that year period besides the Australian open
Right Serena was such a mess in the second half of the year.
they need to bring Cyclops back
De voice commentary is boring
Venus definitely challenges her little sister .
Setting playing
Of courseee!!!
this match was so poor quality; serena severely overweight. so happy my queen got it together a couple years later.
She wasnt that big, she was bigger in 2015 when she was still dominating
Tennis Analysis no she wasn’t 🤯, she was almost january 2007 level here - and even if she was, she was a machine in 2015 - obviously very muscular and fit.

You're crazy. She wasn't overweight.
oo oo right!? She was beautiful then here and now!
Serena avoided Clijsters
Why? Serena's h2h against Clijsters at this point was 7-1.
@@PravoslavniVitez people say some of the dumbest stuff lol
