The subs from official channels are actually really accurate. It's usually lyric videos (especially color-coded), which are off a lot of the time. Just enjoy the MVs guys. It's your journey after all. Doolset is for more context and Korean cultural meanings so you can read them afterwards in your free time, or on-cam after you watch the MV if you so wish
the subs in the official MVs from Hybe Labels/ BANGTANTV/ 1TheK are accurate, the ones that are not are in the color-coded lyric vids. you can read the doolset trans for the context to some of the lyrics coz they sometimes connect their lyrics to their previous songs.. you can just do that in your free time or if you just feel like it. don fret.. just enjoy the music and MVs.💜
Each BTS member is pictured alone in a room that represents the childhood trauma of their fictional character from the BTS Universe. (Except for Jungkook who is looking at the other members through a window, or a key hole, or a grate in the ceiling.). A lot of people laugh at Hobi’s snickers bars but they represent when his character’s mother gave him a snickers bar at an amusement park as a child and told him to wait for her and then abandoned him. RM’s is in a shipping container because his character’s family was homeless and had to live in a similar container. Suga’s character’s childhood home burned down including the piano that his mother taught him to play. So there are actually 2 storylines going on in this video. The BU story, and the fake love story where fake love is represented by flowers in a lamp, which Jin tried to protect but when the strong winds come they turn to ashes anyway. Then in the middle of the video Jungkook sees the lamp on a pile of ashes and when he picked them up to let them slide through his fingers you see the shadow of the petals of the fake love floating away. This symbolizes letting go of the fake love and that allows the door to open in the waterfall which takes Jungkook into a room with a masked figure (which you find out through supplemental material is actually Jungkook himself). This symbolizes that only after you let go of the fake love can you begin to discover your true self under the mask you have been wearing.
If you start checking out live performances, the channel 'EnjoyBTSMore' is usually a more safe (for copyrite) and it uses Doolset lyrics too so you can trust the translations. The live performances of Fake Love are some of my faves from their whole career. I love them using choreo where they act like marionette dolls on strings being puppeteered by someone to represent being controlled in this relationship. Especially when they sort of sag like rag dolls and pull themselves up at times. It all fits the theme so well. The dance practice for this is also really great to see the full thing without the cuts that live shows often have that tend to take away the full story of the choreo since you can't see what others are doing when one person is singing and the background work is so much a part of the narrative too. Like the other fighting with each other in the back but the camera isn't fully showing it.
Yea I don’t know why there had to be this many rules to watch a music video too, but going forward just watch the mvs and enjoy guys. 💜
They are not rules, just suggestions ppl have made so that they can appreciate more aspects of the music than just the good visuals of the MV. The song has a lot of meaning behind the lyrics that connects to the choreography and visuals, so ppl just want to make sure they are able to understand everything since they do not speak the language. They are experimenting and trying to find the best fit for them in the time they have to record. 👍
@@secretyidentity2833hard disagree. I’ve seen so many people say watch 5 additional videos for one song, that’s just doing the most. It’s better for them to watch the mv and let them guess what it’s about cause it’s more fun that way.

I have a suggestion! How about u watch the music video with the subs and then go through doolset to make sure u caught everything? This is easier for you guys and u wont get a headache twisting ur head😭😭
Just do what makes you feel comfortable! 💜 People recommend doolset bec we have high regards when it comes to the boys' music and the messages within it and we wanted people to understand the song in its entirety with all the nuances (bonus is the wordplays and idioms/expressions they add) which can only be explained by Korean translators who are also army like doolset. But if it's too much in a reaction vid bec of the mvs and all of the other stuff, then you can just read it when u have time! The most important is you enjoy the content you're consuming 💜💜 Besides, not all songs needed to be dissected, some are meant to be enjoyed as they are and some are self explanatory! Just, If you become confused abt the meaning of some of the lines or wanted to do a deep dive of the song, doolset is always available! 💜
The translations on the official MVs are good enough. I usually just go through doolset later for a more expansive understanding of the lyrics and some context. There is a lot of sensitivity and care in their music videos and lyrics so we appreciate it when they're paid extra attention to but don't worry about it. Do it however is more enjoyable for you.
if its in the official MVs then the lyrics are accurate.. i dont watch color coded lyrics, sometimes they put the wrong member singing or the lyrics are off.
Subs on the the official mvs are good sometimes a word or two maybe a little off and that's when you go to doolset to check the full meaning with context. I know some people have issues with just watching a vod with subs so if it's not comfortable you don't have to have a second monitor for doolset 😅💜

You can read the lyrics first so you can have the context of the song, so you can also focus on the MV since you have the idea of the lyrics of the song. Don't feel too pressured to interpret the MV. Just enjoy the video and talk about the meaning after.

Hi guys! As I mentioned when you watched BST, you can be confident in the official MVs subtitles. Or you should read through the lyrics first or after you watch the MV. You think you’re covering it all, but really you’re missing out on subtle things. I’m going to assume these first few music reactions were already done, and hopefully you see everyone’s comments regarding by now. I look forward to you enjoying the music (videos) even more.
The subs on the MVs on the Hybe Labels channel for songs post 2016 are perfectly good enough. Doolset adds extra information to help non-Korean culture knowledgeable people understand these aspects.
I think u have got a little confused. The Love Yourself (LY) trilogy of albums are Her, where love is new and perfect, Tear, where it is falling apart and Answer, where you realise you have to love themselves before you can truly love another. Fake Love is from LY: Tear. They realise that the love they feel together is fake because they are changing themselves to be what the other person wants. It is the realisation phase but before they end the relationship. The MV has a lot of references to the Bangtan Universe.

No when we say the translation is inaccurate, we mean the lyric videos created by non-official channels. The official MVs have good subs. A lot of reactors rely on those fan made lyric videos when they react to bts b-side songs. If you choose to react to their b-sides, make sure to use doolset or good quality lyric videos from channels like Dial 6137, deftkoo, borahebangtan etc.
Enjoy the MVs, the lyrics on the mvs should be good enough 💜 if something seems off you can just look up the lyrics after or on your own 😊 LOVE THESE REACTION BTW KEEP EM COMING 😁
The subs on the official are accurate, I’d say just watch the mv and focus on the visuals and enjoy the music, then either watch it again and focus on the lyrics or look at the lyrics on doolset after. But you can get the full feel of the mv if you’re not looking at it and trying to read lyrics, I think majority of us just want your full focus on the mv.
J Hope has a new album and docuseries coming out the end of March .. Hope on the Street (March 27 and 28) and V has a new single on March 15. Hope you will react to these. Every single one of these guys are very talented. Also the candy bars have a really sad significance.

Suelen ser bastante acertados y si algo no os cuadra lo podéis buscar a continuación solo la letra y comentarlo como parte de la reacción. The story here is definitely not JK learning to love himself, it's much darker lol. This video happens to be part of the Bangtan Universe (BU), so the storyline is fictional (and very complicated). 😅 If you were watching BU videos specifically, especially in order, you'd start to notice repeating themes in the symbolism and an emerging narrative.... but lots of people don't want to deep dive into that, and that's totally okay! The BU is actually being made into a k-drama that is set to release this year, so maybe at some point you guys might decide to get into it!
the subs are very accurate from their official channel but if the mv is super old then sometimes its not but 95% yes its accurate

I would do whatever you want. I don't think that translations are that different. I think you can "understand" the meaning overall despite few wayward lines. So, I would make it easier on yourselves and just watch the MV. But overall up to you!
I think everything they do is a work of art. They incorporate so much thought into everything.

Unless you're doing a b-side/song with no video, the official channel lyrics are fine for a reaction. I'd rather you get see you appreciate the visuals. It's hard enough going back and forth between the subs on the screen on first watch. I don't want you to have to feel like you're juggling so much that you can't relax and just enjoy. Yes, please, just watch and enjoy. BTS videos have soooooo much symbolism and so much going on that when you look away for even a second, you miss a lot of the story or hidden figures in the MV. Also, on some of the deeper songs, it might be good to watch an explanation video from either "bookish theories" or "DKDKTV". "Blood Sweat and Tears" (BST) is one that I think anyone watching that video would benefit from watching an explanation video for as well as "Ddaeng".
