Making a dough cutter/scraper

- I show how to make a dough cutter or scraper. A handy kitchen utensil - especially when baking "Lussekatter" aka Saint Lucia saffron buns, a holiday season necessity here in Sweden :)
The recipe for lussekatter:

100 g fresh yeast (we use a special kind for sweet doughs, doesn't matter I think)
400 g butter
1 liter milk
4 dl sugar
1 tea spoon salt
2 g saffron
~1 tea spoon cardamom
~2 kg wheat flour (add to good consistency)
1 egg and raisins added before baking
Melt the butter and add milk to a temperature of 37C. Mix all ingredients and add flour to a good consistency (the dough should not stick to your fingers when touched). Let the dough rise for about 1h. Knead and do the buns, add raisins and let them rise for another 30-40 min. Brush with egg and bake at about 225C for 5-7 min.

A great story from start to finish. The combination of Blacksmith/Metalsmith and cooking with the family rounds it out so well. There were a few videos going back a year or two when Makers of all sorts did Cooking in the Workshop, and they were delightful too. I'm guessing the boy and girl are your kids, and if they are do they know how much of a bad ass dad they have. You bake, blacksmith, knife smith, garden, and many more different skills, if I had a dad like you then I would probably never leave your side. You are an awesome guy.

I make 3D printed prosthetic hands and I made a bunch of small scrapers to just clean up the 3D printed areas were the supports were. Love your work! I re watch your videos while I do work. Its very relaxing to me and inspires me. Keep up the great work!

I use my scraper (an unlovingly made one) more as a shovel, off the cutting board into a pot or pan. It's been such a low life compared with this hand made saffron dough cutter...thanks for the video!
