    Man... This has to be my favourite type of bass. It's so versatile, like you said, you can go from something like a Noisia type bass to something more chilled for lofi. I love it!

    For me ESW is the best sound designer around right now. Looking at your Reese Witherspoon and Bright Reese presets, they have some FX going on as well. It would be cool to see that broken down. Still can't believe what a good deal the Alpha bundle was btw ♥️🙏 excellent video!

    Not sure exactly what you mean by "If you're working with a virtual analog synth you can change the phase". I'm working with Ableton's Analog. If you (or anyone else) can chime in, I'd appreciate the help! Thanks.

    3:25 But... The classic reese bass is done with only two detuned saw oscillators, creating a rhythmic beating. A lowpassed supersaw is something completely different. What even is this tutorial?!

    • @dpounder101
      @dpounder101 5 років тому +2

      The term reese has expanded these days. It means any bass with phasing basically. You can make a reese with multiple oscillators, or with detuned unison.

    • @unfa00
      @unfa00 4 роки тому

      @collide Oh, I haven't heard about that. Can you point me to some sources? Also: that doesn't make this video right about it either.

    • @kaafaa5944
      @kaafaa5944 4 роки тому

      @@unfa00 its a copy past '' Phase cancellation takes place whenever two signals occupying the same frequency fall out of “phase” with one another.In the case of the Reese bass, you end with a brooding type of bassline that’s great to be used as a background ambiance, a lead, or even the top layer of sub-bass when done properly.
      Kick things off by loading up a saw wave on oscillator 1, and a pulse wave on 2. Add as many voices as you see fit, we typically add about 5 on each.Detune each oscillator to taste. This is very much going to depend on what sound you’re going for. Feel free to play with the detune knob as you feel fit. Go crazy.Add a lowpass filter, and a healthy amount of resonance. Sprinkle on some distortion to taste."

    This is not a reese bass...

    • @tarekwayne9193

      I totally agree with you, I listened to the intro demo and was like WTF, where is the Reese? It sounds like some little plucked jazz bass..
      BTW, you can indeed make a Reese with more than one saw, but it doesn't sound like this. It sounds more or less like a double saw Reese, just thicker, as long as you get the unison detuning right..
      Many Reeses in Neurofunk that I thought were 2 saws sometimes were actually like 6 or 7!!
