When you get a better understanding of the Jewish heritage and ancient history, the bible makes a lot more sense. There's a lot of good books by scholars out there to help Christians understand the bible better. I recommend Dr. Michael Heiser's book "The Unseen Realm".....also he has another book "Supernatural" if the first is a little hard to read for some. Knowing how Ancient Israelites thought about the supernatural realm as it relates to our realm is important in knowing what the bible is saying to you. It is the Word of God. There is a lot of meaning in it.
