OOO that's a nice guitar! Just because you aren't pouring concrete DOESNT mean your JOB isn't IMPORTANT!! guitar of the day is important to ME THATS FOR SURE!! THANKS GUYS!!!!!! 🎸🔥🎸🔥🎸🔥🎸
As a friend of mine likes to say, "there is dignity in all work." The key is to find work that provides one with a sense of satisfaction. I have worked at many things for many reasons from things I did to pay the rent to others that provided me with a real sense of personal fulfillment. I wish that for one and all. Each job has its good points and its bad points and it is important to understand that. I am sure that working at Norm's is the same. But despite how busy you must be know that many of us appreciate your efforts and also envy you the chance to play the sort of guitars that we can only dream of. For example I have never played a genuine blackguard Tele but at least i get the vicarious thrill of seeing you do it so please keep up the good work.
Thanks Mark and Jen! You two and all your companies great employees work so hard... and manage to have fun all the time... and work on Saturday’s too! I’m going to write you Mark about your great deal for me and fine packaging skills sending me my McGuire “Blackie” Strat to Tahoe while I was visiting! Nice note enclosed! Very very appreciated!!! Thank you!!! -George SB

Great guitar and really nice demo, Mark. Hey don’t let the bastards get you down! Remember you and the store have friends out there - even some old guys who fly down from Seattle on their birthday to hang out in your store! P.S. Next time I’ll come armed with some cash and will buy one of them there guitars!
Hey Mark, I wonder why there is no herringbone in this guitar or most herringbone has only existed in the model made during wartime? Btw, thank you Mark and Jen for shooting and editing GOTD everyday!
Being a LA store and being such a Tom Petty fan I am surprised that the Byrds don't get much love on the program, in my humble opinion everything that is LA R&R started the day the Byrds took over Ciro's and the Whiskey. Before the Byrds the sunset strip was not where its at all. Do a rick for Roger or how about a Bbender Tele for Clarence! Am I right folks!
Pouring concrete is lots of work. But dealing with the public. And musicians at that. I'd go nuts. Give me a vibrator and a concrete truck any day. Then I can come and watch guitar of the day. Thanks Mark and Jen.
Where is the pricing for a) Martin 000-28 1950s and b) Martin D-28 1950s? Is there like a prime era for 000s? I'm interested in buying one of the two. Cheers, Johnny
HAHA THE STRUGGLE IS REAL. Thanks for the shout-out (about time) but we love you guys and the hardships you endure with all those rock stars and 6-figure vintage instruments and so forth LOL
It's not my job, man ? I thought you sold guitars! BTW-Doesn't Jen do editing? What's her job? Camera holder? Duct tape & a guitar stand. Keep up the hard work kids! Seriously! LOL.
Has that guitar EVER been played, besides today? Oy vey what a work of art! It needs to be played for a few days and then put back in its climate-controlled vault. Great episode!
Mark needs a "pick me up"...uggghhh hey guys it's Mark...grumble...uhhhhh..just kidding, love the vids!!😁poor guy...jeez, beautiful guitar, I can't afford it, or any of the guitars you guys show, but it's nice to dream. Hey Mark, at least u get to play these killer guitars!!!
Hello Mark! And Jen! And whoever else reads these comments! My name is Brittany and I’m commenting in hopes of catching you and Jen’s attention for a birthday shout out. My boyfriend is a die hard Guitar of the Day fan and over the past year, I’ve even gotten into it even though I’m not even a musician. Our nightly routine is chilling on the couch and watching Guitar of the Day together. He is huge fan and ever since I’ve started watching, I’ve made a mental note to make sure he gets a birthday shout out. Then the week before his birthday, everyone decides shout outs are no more! I was so upset because I had planned on contacting and now I’m begging y’all to please give a special shout out (even though shout outs are cancelled) for my boyfriend Jessie Vasser. He’s a huge Fender nerd and I would love if you would play the JagStang you guys have in (if you haven’t sold it already) for him. Or just the shout out, beggars can’t be choosers! I’ll take what I can get. It would mean a lot to him for his 35th birthday this Saturday, April the 28th. Plus you would earn me a million girlfriend points! Fingers crossed my plea is heard!
Jobs... If you want to do it you pay them, if you don't they pay you. Oh , wait...anyway... We all would need to work at something. I get it but it could be worse. I was a machinist for 30 years and I look around and I'm too old. I'm glad you are doing well.
YO MARK..........You should have told this knucklehead ' what, you think I wander around the store just picking out guitars I feel like playing? Slouching around the couch yacking it up my buds? ARE YOU INSANE?! IM BUSY MOTHER- F- - - ER!!! ' I gotta say though, his ' Oh the Humanity' is HILARIOUS. Anyways Love you Guy's, HI JEN!!! 🎸❤
Shawn Gabriel P make sure you use the edge of your finger and get your wrist under it, if you have a certain part of your finger that hard to use try to position it behind the chord
Shawn Gabriel P Me too! I’m 56 & trying to teach myself to play. I know a bunch of chords, but those barre chords are my enemy! I seem to have a mental block w finger picking too 😳 I’m not giving up though!!
Make sure your thumb is on the back of the neck and your wrist is really far around. Do it sitting not standing. And make sure you have a good instrument where the strings are not too high, you want a nice low action. Practise going between C and F barred, then slide up to G, down to F and back to C.
AsFewFalseThingsAsPossible thanks man, I'm good with a lot of these chords but the bars always get me lol, I can't switch to it but I'll do those exercises

Yeesssssss. I love when Mark plays Wildflowers!
Wildflowers is amazing. Whole album is amazing. But that song can make just about anyone happy. R.I.P. Tom Petty. We all love and miss you
That Wildflowers hit me in the feels man. The only non-family death that affected me. I'll be right back, just gotta go take a manly cry.
Dream guitar!
