OMG I love your channel dev hoops

no lieee. Legend in the makin 💯💫
Redick and Draymond had awesome guests this week
Luka is a real one. Excited to watch whole episode!
Luka Dončić against other MVP candidates:
Nikola Jokić 2-1
Joel Embiid 1-0
Giannis Antetokounmpo 0-0
Ja Morant 2-0
DeMar DeRozan 1-1
Jayson Tatum 2-0
Stephen Curry - 3-1
Lebron - 1-0
Donovan - 1-1
@@lukamazing You made only one mistake, the Mavericks vs Grizzlies played four times, but Ja Morant and Luka Dončić only played in three games and Luka won in all of them, so the ratio is 3-0.
WHAT? Luka is no. 1 in defensive rating among guards right now and they say he cant play defense? thats rediculous
@@kotonbads his defense is high iQ defense. He positions himself perfectly for a contest on a drive or a close out for 3. This leaves him vulnerable for a secondary drive but when dfs comes s on the floor there’s another contest at the rim so they pull up. Check the splits of where he gets scored on most. 15+ft which are low percentage. He knows his defensive potential is limited but he’d rather give up a long 2 than a 3 or painted area shot. Like I said. He ge iQ
People don't realize how hard it is to think like Luka said, he said in his iso he looks to see if it's a big or a gaurd and whether or not they have to get out for the 3 seconds or if they can come help. That takes so much awareness and it's so hard to think so clearly when ur on the court. That's amazing, I've never heard an answer like that. Usually players say they're focused on the guy guarding them.
I'm glad someone else was as mindblown as I was when I heard that. Unreal. This is in the span of seconds while controlling an entire offense.
@@lordloquat That makes 3 of us!
@@ThatCoCoa happy to be the 4th!
Man the kid is a walking genius on the court with the magic ball in his hands...5th man here!
@@lordloquat bro every baller thinks like that. They teach you don’t watch your defender watch the help. You can always beat your defender but watch where the help is. Luka didn’t say anything special
crazy how much he’d improved since his rookie year, definitely a mvp caliber player
he averaged 21-7-6 his rookie year lol. Not that he hasn't improved, but he was already really good.
@@GodInHisPrime You can be amazing and still improve a ton. That's what Luka has done. He has improved every part of his game since entering the league and the scary thought is that he can still improve much more and become even better player.
@@GodInHisPrime Exactly, he came to the league as the youngest MVP in euroleagues history, having won everyhting you could possibly win, the most accomplished teenager in basketball history. So yeah he wasn´t just some random obscure prospect like for instance Giannis or Jokic were
Yes, the crazy thing are both things together. How much he improved, but how high he was already.
@@ronibarlund4464 pretty much every good NBA player improves a ton from when they were 19. IMO it's more notable that he was as good as he was at 19.
Compare Luka to Giannis at 19... Giannis is a player that has improved a TON.
Luka Doncic is a special player. He's going to have an incredible career.
Yeah !! And he speaks Spanish very well too !, 😍👏🏼💕 excelente player 🙏
as a rookie he was already playing like a veteran (well he is since he was MVP in europe)
Hopefully he loses a little more weight
@@latinaforever4892 He's so cute too 😊
Luka is the perfect example of an attack first point guard. His aggression forces the defense to collapse every time
JJ Giving us Luka first major sit down interview this could be one’s of the best collabs on the podcast
Getting insight into how Luka operates as a player is gonna be incredibly interesting
The mavs operate on switches/mismatches, very few teams in the league do this every possession. The thing I don't get is how luka consistently drains highly contested stepback 3's over players who are much taller than him, must be the HoF mismatch badge
@@baronlongnose3148 I swear he shoots at least 60% on those shots ay
@@baronlongnose3148 because he know how to utilize the space he created. And his shot was not in a hurry. But the concetration of the shot. Outof this world.
This podcast is becoming super legit. Great interview. It'll be cool comparing this to his podcast with JJ in 20 years
I swear Luka is Jokic if he was shorter and Vice Versa, wish they could play together.. the ball movement would be beautiful
I’ve been saying this for months. Luka and Jokic would dominate the NBA together
That was a good response to not give up all the secrets 😂😂
Really looking forward to the full episode. I feel like this is gonna be really interesting. When you're excelling at 16 years old against grown men, you have to learn a few tricks and I feel like his game was much more developed than other guys in his draft class.
Not just his draft class but most before and after too!
@I Like Turtles Agreed. I caught all kinds of abuse on Twitter when people were asking who is Zion the best prospect since - and I said Luka.😂
The best American guys tend to be one and done in college, there's only so much you can really learn in that time. Playing grown men who don't want to get embarassed by a kid gives you a different type of education.
@@Michael-qu3dc the only guy I'd say arrived as league ready since has been Lamelo Ball, again he played against grown men for whom basketball was how they put food on the table to feed their families.
You cant get that in college/university...
@@iliketurtles4463 Lamelo is not at Luka's level with all due to respect.

I can't wait for this. Bring Jokic next, please.
that is a must.
They need to bring Giannis in as well
“Normally they send me right (to drive), or left, idk”
LMAO
Pick your poison
legend
Cant wait for the full length interview. I’m a kings fan but doncic is one of my favorites of all time.
Finally, Luka in the podcast.
drop the whole podcast JJ!!!
Luka magic!!! Cant wait for the full episode
Can’t wait for the full podcast!!
It seems Shaq has some other hosts on his podcast so they can do a lot of the "interviewing" but I like how good at it JJ is himself, he's a natural
Luka and Kidd took notes from Spolstra and the Heat double teaming Luka all game, they've been doing it to other team's superstars ever since.
Yessir baby Heat culture fashisho I love luka man he’s gonna be one of those very important point forwards for the game of basketball
The heat aren’t the first team to do this. Double teaming the star has been going on for a while
@@rileygarcia1 it's just harder to do with some teams who have multiple stars and easier with teams with a primary superstar like Lebron who has no help and has to do primarily everything.
@@rileygarcia1 It was different, Heat sent double teams at Luka literally all game. Durant said he'd never been double teamed like that in his post game interview.
Damn JJ, bringing the fire.....almost half a million subs.....keep going.
Gotta say I'm loving the defense Luka has played since getting in shape! He's not getting enough credit tbh
Yea he’s a solid defender now that he’s in shape
mark cuban and all mavericks fans are blessed, they got luka at the right time when dirk finished his career. to me, this franchise is the most exciting and it feels great to witness another legend in the making.
This has potential to be legendary in the future
Fr this podcast has been bringing the heat. Good and informative interview
Luka is for the culture 🙌 thanks for coming
I see Luka, I press like!!!
Finally Luka Podcast, thanks JJ n Tommy 👍
The more interviews he does the bigger he becomes to receive his full credit on how great of a player he truly is!
Congrats on getting 3 time 1st-Team All-NBA & future MVP/ Finals MVP Luka Doncic on your podcast.
This is actually kinda interesting considering everything Luka just described about Hunting stars and making them work on both ends is exactly what Kawhi did to Him in the last series😭 I’m happy to see Luka caught on and is starting to embarrass some players cause he only getting better from here.💯 Most people don’t learn from losses but Luka diff
The teaser 😭😭 can’t wait for the full video!!
Luka in shape= the best player in the NBA !
and hes been proving that since january first 2022 mavs are 27-8 and Luka is averaging 33 9 9 on 50 fg% and 40% from 3 since the new year
Playoff Luka is a real thing
If he starts to come into the league in shape I got no doubt he’ll win many mvps in the future
@@AveChristusRex789 True he would've win MVP this year if there were no olympics he was exerting himself while carrying slovenia ,he let himself go after olympics my guess is that he wasn't motivated enough cuz of new gm coach and tingis pingis was there
@@arbernumani3709 no doubt
Luka built different. He’s so young too still. Gonna be the best player in the league before you know it
Where is the effing episode?! Need to watch this in FULL!!!!!!!
Let’s goooooo, been waiting for this one
Can't wait for full episode
Gonna be a great pod !
can't wait for the full ep.
Damn. He basically said, it doesn't matter WHO'S guarding him, because he's looking to see where the big is/was. The player guarding him wasnt a factor at all 😅
This is too much of a teaser, I want the whole thing :D
The future goat of the nba stop playing with the mavericks 🔥🔥🔥
I NEED THE FULL EPISODE NOW!!!
when does the full episode come out
Some of these will forever go down in history as certified GOLD when these young guns become older even bigger stars lol
The first thing he thinks about is positioning and court awareness, not some flashy move he thinks will shake the defender. Gotta love it
Look at JJ Redick man so inspirational
2 words Kawhi Leonard
Luka is THE MAN and he Doesn't get the Props he Deserves!!!!
I can’t wait to listen to the whole thing
dallas fans stand up we finally made it . LORD LUKAAAAAAA
Been waiting on this one 🙌🏽
It's interesting... the part of hunting the offensive pillar on defense, i thought it was because they were just a defensive liability at first and even though i knew about load managment by doing less on D. (Like Lebron did in first year on LA) i always saw through my perspective, what i would do to conserve energy, but i never looked through the opponents perspective and how they might use this against me, vice-versa. The team probably wants to protect him on defense so make him work, tire him out.
Can't believe i didn't realized this sooner, really face palm (same thing for using calls, pressuring referee, exploiting rules). A huge flaw in empathy from my part.
That is a very smart answer. Logically the bigger the star you are, normally you get to work harder on the offensive end, so most of the time they wont be able to work effectively on the defensive end. Or make them work more on defense so that it will affect their offense
You could see the disrespect Luka felt on his face when JJ looked at his phone
damn, Luka in the house
Love the cell phone interruption...
Love watching him play! Too bad Porzingis didn’t work out. Thought they had something there. 🤷♂️
how smart luka is, is actually mind boggling ‼️
How long is this episode? I don't think 2 hours is enough, gotta be more than that.
Where's the whole ep??
NBA classic right there..
less switches off posessions, mano a mano, whos better on a given night..
Baby 🐐🐐
goat in the making
Love how competitive he is. He’s this era’s Larry Bird.
Excited to see this one
We need more players like Luka in our era that want to seek the matchups. Lebron use to be scared to matchup with Kobe back in the day whenever he played against the Lakers
Doesn’t hunt Kawhi 👀
Nobody in their right mind would want Kawhi guarding him. Luka is a dog but he aint stupid 😂
Yeah he only drops 40 on their heads every matchup but aight
@@arbernumani3709 facts lol🤣🤣
@@itsbunch do you watch the games or just look at the stats?
@@Andrew-cp9gh Luka does just fine vs kawhi in matchups. Lets not even talk about PG or Zubac. They're both his sons
His english improved a lot👌❤️
Yes sir podcast moving up!
Luka “the Don” Doncic…this dude is COOKIN’ these cats one by one 😂. I still think the Mavs are a couple of star players away…but man he’s fun to watch!
“They send me right now, or left, i don’t know”
I love how he plays dumb and only reveals a few things about his iso game so he doesn’t give away his secrets lmao
Luka "The almighty" Doncic
This is the biggest W so far please Giannis next
This interview will = epic
That's what is called basketball IQ .
At such a young age, amazing European school of basketball.
BIG W LUKA
Those curtains look like if you lit the room in black light you could probably light the shot
luka is the next great
This finna be great
Why do you want to go at the best player?......"to make them tired". basically was his answer and that is the best answer
TaKe this down j.j. This is tape for the playoffs
Future NBA goat!Salute to you Idol Luka Doncic!🤭❤️👏🇵🇭
Luka he is NBA no.1 player
Wow finally Luka on
Not right u have that man giving away his secrets, especially right around playoffs
Luka needs to defend them as well if he likes the competitive spirit
He got a steal defending Lebron, and two blocks on Westbrook in the same game he was hunting Lebron. He defends those guys too, but it would incredibly stupid to defend them at the end of games when you have the highest usage rate in the NBA. Lebron was free to get Luka on a switch if he wanted him.
Since Christmas he has 2 stolen balls and 1 block per game, he now plays a much better defense and is based not only on IQ but also 1 on 1 physical defense.
Yasss!! LUKA!!!
JJ teasing the whole audience with a 3min clip 😅
THIS ONE GONNA BE GOOD
He don’t wanna defend them tho that’s the funny part
You can tell he’s smart af
Cannot wait
He’s trying to be nice and respectful but really he’s saying that Lebron and Steph are terrible defenders and he’s exploiting the mismatch; that Gobert doesn’t defend the perimeter well. I feel him 😂😂
Craziest part about this clip was Luka’s last sentence because he did exactly that for Spencer Dinwiddie’s game winner last night.
Cant hate on this dude.
akward moment when the smartphone came up lol
Luka Doncic with the Tim Dillon, "Yes or yes"!
