Full highlights of China's Zhang Jike and Wang Hao's Gold Medal Match in the Men's Table Tennis Singles from the ExCeL Arena on 2 August 2012.
In 1926, meetings were held in Berlin and London that led to the formation of the International Table Tennis Federation. The first World Championships were held in London in 1926, but the sport had to wait a long time before it was given its Olympic debut at the 1988 Seoul Games.

Evan Zeng ma long its the best ever. the reason zhang lost its becuz underhand can never beat overhand cuz it over powers it so much. its almost impossible for underhand to block a players spin shots so it's almost impossible to for under to beat over i use over wang its a bit better than me but i still beat him. but he is the best under player i've ever seen though

    • @MoviesEducationGamin

That isn't necessarily true. Backhand might not be able to overpower forehand but it can outmaneuver it any day of the week. Wang Hao and Zhang Jike are both 2 clear examples of backhand oriented players that dominated the table tennis world.

As someone who has only played maybe twice (and casually at that) and never really watched it played, I still 100% consider this a legitimate, respectable sport. It's physically rigorous, requires great focus and control and a quick mind. Small-minded people seem to think sports should involve more distance and contact, and are accustomed to seeing table tennis tables in rec rooms at hotels. But at this level, these two men are playing a much more delicate, concentrated game of tennis that takes a sharp eye and incredible reflex to master. I guarantee if the detractors tried to play at this intensity for five minutes they'd be mentally and physically fatigued.

@@incrediblesam2236 I think you meant the rubber, right? The bat is completely the same on both sides. It's up to rubber which one you use for fore- or backhand Most players have a thicker rubber on the forehand, because thicker rubbers generate more power than thin ones. The colour is just there, because most players use different rubbers for fore- and backhand. With the cdolours it is easier to recognise them. Also if you play pimples as example on the backhand as an defender they often twiddle the bat for the service. And with the two different colours the opponent can know the ball was hit with the the pimples or the regular rubber.

At least he managed to snatch a World title against Wang Liqin in 2009, a title that eluded him so many years before. Now he is the head coach of the Chinese male National Team and I wish him to carry on being successful as a coach.
