Taylor - it's very important to get the locking kits for your Fast Guns otherwise anyone can walk off with them in 55 seconds leaving you up the creek without a paddle. When I bought my AF 990 they put on Fast Guns and the locking kits so they don't get stolen. You might also be able to use a padlock on each one that prevents the handle from being operated.
You always do such a thorough review Taylor. So glad that you now have them. I have a set on my Camper also. I would recommend you get the locks for them too. Just in case someone likes yours and wants to help themselves to your new "Fast-guns".
That's exactly what I was thinking as I watched Taylors install : so easy to remove and " fast guns " will be stolen fast. I was going to ask about a locking system for them?
I too bought the fast guns and of course the locks, but a word of warning. Before I learned the hard way while installing the locks I could hear and feel the click but still wound up losing two of them. Torklift were good enough to replace them but I learned to check by pulling on the lock to make sure it is fully engaged.
Damn dude can't believe they gave you free ones!! That's so awesome!! Sign of your growth and popularity as a vlogger! Got fastguns myself too. They're awesome
Hey Taylor, we have them on our Wolf Creek camper and have a suggestion for you: get the locks that go into the holes on the top of the lever to prevent them from being stolen. I always put mine on facing the key lock rearward and there is a rubber cap that protects from snow etc etc. worth the $ we have had them on trips to BC and AK and back to MN. no issues. Enjoy your channel!!
Yes you need the locks, we store our fast guns in the bumper lock compartment on the camper when we take the camper off on extended stays at a campground or on the driveway in between camping trips. They have been a great addition to our truck camper, glad you now have them. Keep the videos coming.
Awesome! They really are the best in the biz. We put them on my buddy's 811 sitting on his Denali HD, so easy! And as everyone else has said, put locks on them! You can use a decent quality long depth padlock.
Be sure to adjust them correctly... you don't want a pull out! I used these on my Lance 845 and loved them. I purchased a set of four keyed alike Master stainless padlocks at Lows for about 38 bucks instead of the Torklift locks at almost twice the price.
To get clearance for the bed, I have my fastguns upside down(Lance 650, 2015 F250) For security and to keep the honest people honest you can put pad locks on the handle. Padlocks cost a lot less than the Torklift locks.
They are wonderful. To go along with some of the other viewers, I installed safety pins in mine and then drilled out the ends of the pins where I could add a small padlock on each.
Good Deal Taylor!! I used Happi jacs for years and also they worked great decided to buy Torklift tiedown system and fast guns 2 years ago. Absolutely Love them and would never go back.
Hello Taylor ... If you ever want to come to Europe ... Do not miss Romania. Dracula's Castle, the Danube Delta, the Carpathian Mountains, the Black Sea ... and many more.
I got Fastguns the same time I purchased my Lance camper. Very convenient and easy to use. You might look at Helwig anti-sway bar for your truck. Helps reduce body roll. My truck came with factory airbags and heavy duty leaf springs so I didn't need to add any additional items other than the Helwig sway bar.
Nice of TorkLift to send you that stuff man, and funny to have that guy stop you on such a fire-road random place who recognized you.... I hope you are doing OK Taylor. You are missed buddy. I mailed you something to your work awhile back, hope you do not mind.
I have only used these tie downs as recommended by Northernlite. They are fast but do require a quick adjustment every time you load the camper on the truck.
Taylor I would add one more thing to your new tie downs there's a place to put a locking pin through while you are driving to prevent them from coming unloaded while you are driving.
Yes, as one other person stated, Lock Those Bad Boys so someone doesn't just help themselves to them! Great drone shots ~ if is beautiful there, for sure. ❤
Another entertaining vid Taylor. I just enjoy you and your adventures. So handsome and such a nice personality ... and you are a fellow Canadian ... cheers man!
Just make sure to check with your camper manufacturer. Torklift tell you how to set them with somewhere around 300 lbs of tension and can rip your camper apart and crack the fiberglass and pull apart your caulked joints. Love your content I have a travel light slrx1000 with a slide on my 3500hd crewcab duramax. Your stickers are on the way and I'll throw one on the camper!
Hi there. I have set on my 98.5 Dodge 1 ton with an AF 811S. Just want to make sure you adjust the fast guns so the rubber O ring is about 1/4 Inch gap after locking the fast guns. That is per the instructions. Not to be a pain, but too tight and you will pull the bracket out of the camper. Too loose and you will lose the fast gun.
Great video ! We are learning so much from the your videos ! The drone footage was stunning ! Going to frame the sticker for James ! Thanks so much ! Happy New Year to You and Rebecca ! 🦋💕
You lucky guy, I paid $US 500 for my four. Still worth it. They are great. Concur with other comment, get the locks. Good commercial. Torklift got their money's worth.
I haven’t even bought my camper yet but I already have them in the garage for the near future. Thanks for the review though, makes me more confident about the pricy purchase!
As soon as my F350 is delivered it is going straight to the RV shop for Torklift Tie Downs and electrical hookup and that includes a new set of Fast Guns. Pricey, but I've only heard great things about them, especially if you need to remove the one that seems to obstruct your gas cap in order to fill up. I will get 4 good locks though. Can't wait until I can hit the road. On another note, (you probably covered it in a past vlog and I forgot) do you have mods on your 1 ton such as airbags? Stable Loads? Sway bar? HD adjustable shocks?
I’ve got fast guns, love em but my 19yr old death jacks are failing so I’ve bought a stable-lift system (kalispel MT) and won’t be utilizing them any more very soon.
Word of advice to anyone with an Arctic Fox or Wolf Creek, don't install them too tight. You could damage or rip out the anchor points, not to mention the turnbuckles themselves. They don't need to be so tight that it takes a lot of force to close them. In fact, they should be just tight enough to take up the space between the tiedown and anchor point on the camper side. Basically, just tight enough that they don't fall off, but not sloppy loose. Snug. As the camper rolls and sways, the fastguns will give the required resistance. IMO, he has them too tight here. Oh, and yes, I recommend the locks as well. Thieves like shiny stuff.
I agree, my 2012 wolf creek 816 pulled passenger side anchors out on bumpy roads, they were not overtight, it's a flaw in that model coach. Still though, do NOT over tension! & lock those guns!!
I think the fast guns are great as well. However I don't know if they work with the older Atwood Truck mount connection points which are at the front of the truck box and bumper. I see you have the torklift frame mounted system which is newer. I agreed with others that the locks are important.
Torklift makes many great products. They gave me a set of Wobble Stoppers a couple years ago I have yet to install and use. Get some locks on those things before they grow legs. If you can justify the cost, Fastguns are the best along with Torklift Tiedowns and don't forget the infamous Super Hitch. Take care...
Absolutely beautiful ! Great help for an older female truck camper owner. But please tell me the recommended anti theft element for those "enticing" parts!
Torklift sells locks that lock the handle, or regular padlocks (may need long shackle) will work also. You also need pins and miniature padlocks on the brackets that slide into the frame mounts.
Taylor, I have an Eagle Cap 1165, which I love and fully agree the spring loaded (I have 4) are a pain in the a--. My concern is are there locks that come with the Fast Guns? Hate to spend all that $$ and get them stolen.
Enjoy ur vids and views all very informative. My question is for a truck camper hopefully newbie owner in near future how do you level your truck and camper when you get to a site for the nite. Would enjoy seeing a video on any tricks or hints on that topic if there is any
Ok how did you make it snow here. Made fun of you getting snow at your parents, and then it snows in Tucson Az. lol. Great video, I always look forward to them.
Great video! and plus one on getting locks. Or at least wrap a bungee cord around the handle to prevent the possibility of them unbuckling on their own over a bump. I'm sure it's rare but possible.
Generally Torklift has two types of brackets to attach under the truck for the rear. One type assumes the Factory or aftermarket hitch, and bolts to the frame, and the other type assumes a Torklift Superhitch as these attach into the ends of the hitch tube. The forward brackets are the same in any case, for a given vehicle, attaching to the frame.
Biggest complaint I have with Fast Guns vs Quick Load Happijacs is you can't tighten the fast guns without removing them from the camper if minor adjustments are neccessary. Happijacs allow you to just turn the cylinder until the corrent setting. I have both and I perfer the Happijac tiedowns and Quickload combos for my typical use in the last 19 yrs. of truckcamping. No fill door in the way. No taken off lower frame brackets when not in use is more of the con's of this system.
That looked a little to easy were i'm questioning the security of them staying locked down. I would add a strap for the lever not to pop up on a hard bump or something. probably just me though. Did you notice a different ride after installing these on your camper? Great video as always!
Not only are they the best, they are the most frequently stolen! So be sure to purchase the locks! I bought mine day one when I bought my Arctic 🦊 Fox 990.
It would be great if their was a way to lock them....keep someone from stealing them off the truck when your at work or camping......A pad lock may work.
Also, did you have any issues with the plastic caps that go one at the end? Two of mine are snug. The other two are so loose they won’t stay seated at the top of the fast gun. Also the washers that are on the lever handle are rattling on 3/4 fast guns. Haven’t even used them yet and I’m not impressed at all. So much for American made….
Love mine, even though I had to buy them. I did get free stable loads from them to review. They are an excellent company and really stand behind their products. If only they could figure out a better way to powder-coat their tiedowns though, my only complaint. Do I see a cracked dually fender? I had a woops when I unloaded last time, forgot to swing out the dually bracket on one side. Started to drive out and pushed in the fender. I got really lucky it popped right out and can't even tell (2017 F350)
Taylor I work as an engineer for a hospital in Virginia. I’m looking into leaving my apt life and live full time in an rv as apposed to living in apt or townhouse. I do like your setup but I’m also liking the class b ruv style as well . Any advice I’d appreciate and yes I’m following my dreams and living them to.
labeling them really only prevents you from having to vastly adjust them in between camper loadings. Every time I put the camper back on, they need to be adjusted 1-4 turns anyway.
Hate to say it but it will take about 1 minute for them to disappear while you're getting a coffee and donut in the morning. Has to be some way to lock them on
Those nice shiny stainless steel ones attract thieves someone stole all four of mine two days after I bought the camper better invest in some good locks for them
Taylor - it's very important to get the locking kits for your Fast Guns otherwise anyone can walk off with them in 55 seconds leaving you up the creek without a paddle. i was going to say the same... these babies have a way of walking away...
I was going to say the same... “where’s the locks!!!” Definitely needs emphasized
Get the locks ASAP!

Torklift were good enough to replace them but I learned to check by pulling on the lock to make sure it is fully engaged.
@@johnpatterson1575 Good heads up John!
Now we know it only takes about 50 secs to acquire some fast guns of your own!
Damn dude can't believe they gave you free ones!! That's so awesome!! Sign of your growth and popularity as a vlogger! Got fastguns myself too. They're awesome

I'm cheap, I lock mine with 4 cable gun locks I already had on hand.😊

Now put a crew cab diesel dually under that camper and your will be set. The scenery is awesome. Keep up the good work.
Once again your videos don't disappoint. And I learned something new. Blessings to you!
I have the Fast Guns and I lock them with 4 long shake pad locks, keyed alike. You can purchase a 4 pack from Canadian Tire.
yup those are the best.i got them on my 2016 811. mine are grey though.

Great video Taylor. How about one on long term reliability of the camper. Particularly the slide out.

Dang, is that a big ol crack on the fender or just dirt? Love your vids. keep it up
I have them for my camper and love them. Easy on easy OFF so buy the locks!!!
Nice upgrade. I've been eyeing the Happijac Qwik-Loads for the same reason.
How did you manage the drone shot while driving... that was some feat.
Did you see him almost run in the ditch? That was a give away, but great great drone and truck camper coordination

Great idea for a video . The short answer . I have a 3 foot level but Ill make a video down the road !
I forklift fast guns on my camplite 6.8 truck camper, BEST EVER, very SPENDY but worth it.
awesome system, definitely the way to go!
Get locks for the ones on bottom of truck and the fastguns people love to take them and they are not cheep......good luck.
Definitely get the locks.
Ok how did you make it snow here. Made fun of you getting snow at your parents, and then it snows in Tucson Az. lol. Great video, I always look forward to them.
Happy New Year i Love you so so much xx😍😘
Question for anyone. On the lower frame mounts, where the lower end of the Fastguns attach, why does that attach hole have a slot cut in it?
Owning a house is not buying one, its paying one off! Great feeling BTW...
Great video! and plus one on getting locks. Or at least wrap a bungee cord around the handle to prevent the possibility of them unbuckling on their own over a bump. I'm sure it's rare but possible.
alright u got them! i know i have 2 have them BUT FOLKS U HAVE 2 SECURE THEM AS IN SECURITY IT'S A MUST

Some of these pot holes is no joke!
Hi Taylor, Would it be difficult to park a 3/4 ton truck in Toronto or Vancouver.
Depends on the size of your rig. Now I’m no expert on city parking, even though I’ve lived in New York City. I’d say park in the outer boroughs.

Don't forget to label them so when you grab them out of a pile you know it fits that corner.
labeling them really only prevents you from having to vastly adjust them in between camper loadings. Every time I put the camper back on, they need to be adjusted 1-4 turns anyway.

Is it just me, or are you missing a marker light on the front of your camper?
When were they stolen
Do the fast guns come with a lock so people don't steal them?
Bladerogue you need to purchase them separately but they are a must if you want to keep your Fastguns. About $ 100.00 Cdn.
How often are you all loading/unloading that you can justify an extra $600 for 4-5 minutes saved?
My fast guns are 9mm :)
thomas thomas xD
Be sure get locks for the guns as they tend to disappear.
Miss you.
Someone should tell him to get locks for those...lol
