Hey! Debbie from the UK here. I stayed in Pacifica with my family for the last 5 days of my USA visit. We walked from Pacifica to Rockaway Bay too. It was in June and the wild flowers were beautiful. If you go back, eat at the fish restaurant in Rockaway Bay 👍 So close to San Fran airport too. Lovely way to end our stay 😊
I will never tire of the California coast. This looks awesome. It’s so different than the east coast. It will be a dream come true to travel the whole thing one day and explore places like this. It’s funny how even you can find new things still.
Love that stretch of the coast. When I was young I would visit Playland at the Beach, an amusement park that used to be located just north of Pacifica at Ocean Beach.
You went the long steep (but scenic) way around the quarry :) The short / flat way is north side, Old Mori Trail or Upper Mori Rd, there is VERY limited parking along Bradford Way/Mori Pt Rd... you can also park much easier along Fairway Dr next to the golf course, and walk toward the beach, there is a back path to Mori Trail at the end of Fairway Dr. Can go straight out to the beach and up, or take Upper Mori Rd etc. to the top. Nice overlooks of the beach & Coastal trail, and Sharp Park golf course. You can go left/south along the bluffs to see your views also. For your way, you can also park behind Lighthouse hotel at Rockaway Beach (in view @2:13) off San Marlo Way, and enjoy the beach and crashing surf on the rocks ... lots of friendly squirrels and birds... Moonraker restaurant sometimes has food truck, and other spots to eat there eg Nicks etc in Rockaway Beach, neat little spot to visit/shops (Christmas store) in itself! There is a nice open path/bikeway along Calera Creek, that you looked down on..goes from your parking, to Rockaway Beach. There is a nice little zig-zag path on the bluff south of Rockaway, that goes up & over and back down to Pacifica State Beach... toward the Taco Bell. If you go farther south on Hwy1, there is a nice paved cliffside road/trail at Devil's Slide (used to be Hwy1! until the bypass tunnels)... south parking after the tunnels, is a lot closer to the road... both lots tend to fill up fast. Ahh, I see you did do a video on that one too, good!
Thanks for all the great tips! So many ways to hike this trail which is really nice since the parking I used was small. Yep, I went to Devils Slide, so cool as well! Thanks again for the fantastic comment!
4:27 are the remains of bunkers/military outposts. They are everywhere in pacifica. Check behind Oceana High School for more cool stuff like that... Past the newly developed neighborhood going up the hill.
I’ve been to Pacifica a few times and went metal detecting by that Taco Bell, usually it’s a lot more crowded. Very interesting and scenic trail which I need to try - thanks for doing this video. There is also an interesting county park East in the hills which has some trails going through some woods and an old trout fishing farm.
Nice views, you would like the many hikes around the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, some are 300 + feet above Lake Michigan, reserve your camping site a year in advance, the lakeshore on Lake Superior is impressive too, Indiana Dunes are a easier climb, but still a workout in the summer sun.
Awesome! we definitely have that place bookmarked on our list. Word on the street is that that Taco Bell’s a popular spot for Van folks as well. Excited to have a hike to do with the girls when we go. That hike looks amazing. Though we’ll probably have to take the way up from the pier :)
That taco bell has the absolute best view of any taco bell in the world! I always make it a point to stop and have lunch here when I'm driving thru Pacifica!
haha the walk up from the pier is amazing as well, plus lots of steps that way to get the blood pumping. I bet your family will love the beach Taco Bell!
You found a very popular hiking spot for the locals! Other recommendations for coastal views: 1. bit farther south on Hwy1, Pillar Point Bluff NW of Half Moon Bay; Frenchman Reef Trail, and across.. look down on the Pacific to west, and cute little airport to east. Maverick's Beach at the point is a famous surf spot. Grab some bites to eat at Pillar Point Harbor, or bit down Hwy 1 at Sam's Chowder House (VERY crowded parking!!) 2. Quick little trail south of the swanky Ritz Carlton hotel, park off Miramontes Pt Rd, and walk to beach and north to the Ritz. 3. Bit farther south, Cowell-Purisima trail & beach access (north end parking) can have some GORGEOUS wildflowers (yellow oxalis you saw, and wild mustard) in the working fields (or artichokes & Brussels sprouts), you can walk the entire 3.6mi coastal trail (one way), or just go out to the bluff/beach & a bit south along the path, then back & drive to south parking for more beach & bluff/ocean views and bit north up the path. 4. Farther south a favorite Pescadero beach w/ overlooks, beach & tidepool access , and if you cross over/under the bridge, you can do a nice marsh walk (can also access south side of marsh from Pescadero Creek Rd.) Good Mexican food in Pescadero , Mercado & Taqeria (inside gas station) w/ cute garden dining outside
So many great recommendations, thank you for taking the time to share them! Now I can't wait to go back. I have been to Sam's many times but that is about it from what you shared! Appreciate it
Definitely going to check this trail out. I only did the Lishumsha/Coastal Trail up to Mori Point but still had a good view of Sharp Park LOL. Check out my walk here: ua-cam.com/video/G9LKNSh9HbU/v-deo.html
It's amazing how Pacifica can change when the weather rocks! Do San Pedro park next, back of the valley, waterfall ... here's a cool website, live webcam: www.pacificaview.net/livecam/sharp_triptych_wx.php Thanks!

You were in my neighborhood! Pacifica is full of amazing hikes like this one - so glad the weather cooperated for your visit!
It was like the perfect day, I need to spend more time there!
Mori Point is great for whale watching when they're migrating during spring and fall. They swim right by there. Amazing views.
Oh wow, that would be incredible!
What time of the day would you recommend for whale watching at Mori Point?
I've seen them all times of the day. They even swim by the pier in Pacifica.
That's called enjoying the life truly.
I will never tire of the California coast. This looks awesome. It’s so different than the east coast. It will be a dream come true to travel the whole thing one day and explore places like this. It’s funny how even you can find new things still.
I wish I could spend like 2 months just driving slowly up the California coast and experiencing it all!
It is an amazing place. I love the garden and all the hike at least go once a month.
Love that stretch of the coast. When I was young I would visit Playland at the Beach, an amusement park that used to be located just north of Pacifica at Ocean Beach.
Just did the trail. Its a great view. Good exercise with hills and flat area.
Breathtaking trail, some views are just unreal.
I agree!
LOVE the bird sound at the end. Now I’m looking up Pacifica…
Be sure to stop at the Taco Bell :)
Absolutely beautiful Maury point trail along Pacific Coast highway video my UA-cam 🙋♂ friend Love it
mammoth like 👍👍
Glad you like the hike!
I’ve been up mori point beautiful area
Great spot... There's excellent higher difficulty hikes in this hills on the other side of Highway 1 as well. Thanks for sharing.
That looks stunning! Reminds me of Torrey Pines near San Diego. Thanks for the video , can't wait to hike it
Great video! My fav spot to walk my dog
Drove up to Monterey and back down via Big Sur last week and the wildflowers are definitely coming up!
Oh man, the perfect time to go!
@@californiathroughmylens Most definitely! There were even almond blossoms off the 5 which I had never seen before.
Great to see the areas where there is no erosion caused by silly development.
Thanks for sharing. Adding it on my list to hike.
No problem!

Been to Pacifica many times but I did not know about this Taco Bell and its prime location.
One of my favorite videos because of the coastal views. I’d sit there and eat Taco Bell. Thank you for sharing. 🙂
Glad you liked it!

Very cool! I was hoping you would mention the Taco Bell in Pacific, best Taco Bell!
Yep, it is such a great spot!
Looks like you didn't go to the very top! Also at that great area by the bootleggers, by May it's full of wildflowers.
Wishing i didn't have ibs these all look so awsome and fun 😖 bike path too though 🤔hmmm
I would love to do the bike path next time but I am not great at uphill mountain biking myself
Gr8 stuff young man🌝
Thanks!
Beautiful spot. Would not want to try walking it on wet ground.
Agreed, it would just crumble if it was wet!
YES, the route you mentioned at ua-cam.com/video/yiR_7--RLjY/v-deo.html is most famous one.
Makes sense, would be a lot easier haha
Definitely going to check this trail out. I only did the Lishumsha/Coastal Trail up to Mori Point but still had a good view of Sharp Park LOL. Check out my walk here: ua-cam.com/video/G9LKNSh9HbU/v-deo.html
