Adirondack solo canoe in deer hunt 2016

- Solo early season rifle season in NY's Adirondacks. Paddled my 15' wood canvas Chestnut canoe into the Bog River Flow and set up my camp, a small downsized wall tent with a wood stove for 7 days. No deer taken, good times though for this 68 yo od timer. Some snow, lots of rain and wind made getting away from the wood stove tough.
Hunting and canoes what could be better
enjoyed watching love the adk hunts and those wet days are more common than not up there. great work
So peaceful.
Very good job Robin!
Great video Robin!!
Thanks, Not the Yukon but a nice place to canoe camp.
Canoes, they hold a special place in my heart. Been doing more and more deer hunting with my canoe. Longbow, rattling Hornes and the mist rising off the river..............heaven. Nice video......enjoyed all of it.
Thanks, Well said. I share your feelings about canoes
Awesome trip!
That's when it's nice to have a hot tent! It must have been so nice to warm up in there after a cold rainy day.
Yes it was warm, I really enjoy the hot tent even if it's a lot of weight to haul in.
Hi, Robin, I hope you are planning to make it back this fall for another trip, it's good to see you out there and sharing your videos with us. Planning a day of fishing this coming week into Lows with some friends.
I absolutely love your canoe hunting videos, I would have never guessed that New York has such beautiful hunting areas, you are truly blessed.
What an awesome video. Thanks for filming this.
Thanks for sharing Robin. Your videos are beautifully done and motivational. Maybe it's time for me to consider this "hot tent" thing. Take care my friend.
Merci Robin ,
excellente vidéo comme toujours ,superbe,,,

Just found you channel and it is great. Love the way you camp. Like your canoes and truck also. My first truck was a 1972 red C/10 with a long bead. Great drive train but body rusted away. Thank you for your service and I pray ATB for you. Take care!
Thanks for taking us along Robin. It is all about the memories. Cheers.
Thanks Kelly, Good memories for sure.

Very nice, even in the rain. Always good to just get out on the water, deer or no deer. Awesome camp set-up too. Glad I found your channel, really enjoy your canoeing videos. Thanks.

Great video!! Regards from a Dutch canoe padler!!
Thanks dirk doenvan v.
Fantastic ! Thanks for sharing
Thank You
Nice one. I like how you have the camera outside the canoe; good angle. Looks like a cold/wet stay. I hope you could get your socks dry by morning.
Thanks GSR Riverrider, I always enjoy your videos also, gotta love those wall tent wood stoves for drying gear out!
Is the upstream paddle you canoed the outflow from Little Trout Pond on the south side of Hitchens Pond? It looks like it is. I completed my last ADK canoe trip of the season in the Childwald area five days before the snow fell on October 21st. We had great weather, freezing night time temps and a full moon. It appears that you weren't quite as fortunate.
Will you be paddling in the ADK's the end of April/beginning of May? If so, we might bump into each other on the trail. Maybe we could talk over a cup of coffee in the Long Lake Village Diner.
Thanks for the video, although I must admit that viewing it makes it even harder to put the canoes away for the season.
Yes it was the outflow from LTP, lots of beaver dams but it looks like you can get pretty far back in there.
Not sure when I'll be back in, but I have a website Canoetripping.net with a forum where I usually mention my plans, lots of good canoe stuff there to wile away the winter.
Thanks
Thanks Robin for bringing me along. I've never been to the Adirondacks but they look lovely. Amazed that winter is rushing in so swiftly.. Your video reminds me of the comfort of a late fall solo. Brian 76
Thanks, How was your trip this year Brian Spencer
Thank you so much for sharing your hunt with all of us. It's good to see us old fart's still out and enjoying the wood's. Nothing better than doing it the old way. show these young dog's a thing or two. (lol) Thanks again for sharing.
HaHa Thanks Chuck Robb I grew up in a non hunting family on Long Island no deer hunting there so I'm making up for lost time!
Wow...that was just beautiful. I could watch that on a loop all day. Even if you come home without a deer, still a great hunt. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Hey Rob ya got the gear out and ready to go yet? That time again!
Yes, can't wait. I'll be canoeing in the ADK's this weekend but not at Lows. I hope the weather lets me get all the way in and I can set up where the big woods sees little others, love being alone.
Robin Lauer long range looks good for October! Cool nights but mildly warm days! Should be better season than last! My wall tent and gear is ready to roll.
I'm going in Friday, the 20th of Oct, are you going to be at Lows Lake then?
