Love it. Love the way you explain very good pace when the listener needs to focus. Still fantastic when I play with 1.25 or 1.5 speed.
    Thank you!

Thank you for making this video. The fuzzy search added a really nice feature for my site. One thing I learned playing around with it is that the fuzzy search settings icon cannot be hidden, it will break the search functionality.

Thanks for sharing the number of items fuzzy search can handle at once. I’ve had good luck using Algolia, but it doesn’t handle searching lists of any field type unless you choose “Any field” as your search field. This can be an issue if you want to search a list of texts or another list of field types quickly, but it seems this solution would work.

Bubble is rolling out faceted search via Algolia next year I think.

I had some issues with this at first. Then I realised my issue - the search box or "Input Fuzzy Search" should be an 'Input' element, not a 'Search Box' element. Hopefully others find this helpful.

Great tutorial! Note: "this element visible on page load" has to be checked, otherwise the search won't work.

Thanks for a great tutorial. One question though, this works great for me, but I can't search my order number because you can only search text fields, afaik. been trying to figure out how to create a new text field on each record and then copy the order number into it on the create order workflow so that I could use it as a search parameter.

I tried using fuzzy search, but ran into a problem and started wondering, if it is supposed to work just one time and if so, how could I work around that?
I am building a "create new item" menu and trying to make a closed loop of functions:
    1. User types a few letters into an input.
    2. Repeating group shows options, based on a search of database (via fuzzy search).
    3. User picks desirable option from a repeating group and clicks on it.
    4. A custom state is triggered, which stores an option a user clicked (later to be used in creating or updating a thing in a database).
    5. Since I would like an input to reset (and through conditions show the option a User chose), I use a "reset input a Search & Autocorrect" function and use aforementioned conditionals to show the option a User chose.
Up until this point, everything works fine, actually loving the speed in which the fuzzy search works. But then, if a User wants to do the search again, the fuzzy search does not work. I try typing into the input and no search results are shown.
Tried not using step no 5. (I think I maybe could work around that), but still, no effect, so wondering if the fuzzy search is supposed to only work once.
Does anybody know, how to make this sort of closed loop, so the User can search and choose however many times he/she wants?

I was wondering: what would be better in the case of search things from the database, but, in this cenario, just return the user's name. A searchbox would be enough for usuability or create a repeating group filtered by the fuzzy search is better? What do you think?

Hi Greg. Can this plugin be used to search items straight from an API source? For example, when you select a non Bubble database item for instance Users in the Data Source field on this plugin, then the Field to Search options disappear, then how would you make the plugin work if the Data Source I'm using is an item like Get data from external API? Do you know if this plugin allows that kind of search?

    • @Buildcamp
      @Buildcamp  4 роки тому

Unfortunately not - it needs to pull from the db.

Great tutorial Greg. One question, do you know if it's possible to have two search & autocorrects (each linked to a different repeating group) but utilising the same search bar? THe use case is searching for locations and events, each of which is a data type

    • @Buildcamp

You can only search for 1 type of content at a time. Maybe create a toggle button to switch between two search inputs using conditionals.

Thanks Greg for the great tutorial as always. Unrelated to the fuzzy search, but what is that element you use for the skills repeating group? It looks like it dynamically fits to the text. I've been trying to use a button, group, or just the text itself, but the height seems to get set to whatever I have in the editor when trying to do something similar.
