(Spoilers for Jedi Survivor!!!)
Here's a totally new thing that I haven't made edits of before. I've been a fan of the first game since it came out but never had inspiration for it. Anyway, Jedi Survivor is here now and I tell you what I WAS NOT expecting a romance subplot with Cal and Merrin!! My little ship actually happened?? And done well too? I'm very happy with this game. I just had to make a little something because they are definitely one of my fav ships right now 💕

I was screaming at the TV when bode started choking her! I was about to cry if she had died right in front of Cal
I know right!! I was actually stressing when she goes with Cal to fight him. It was like the one time in the game I was thinking I'd prefer to do this all by myself 😭

But this is where Bode miscalculated: Merrin was never Cal's weakness. In fact, she's the opposite. He's stronger with her by his side.
It's without her that he feels aimless. It's without her that he feels hopeless. With Merrin, Cal doesn't feel all alone. Merrin is Cal's proof that there's something more to this life than just the fight. As long as he has her, they'll get through anything. And they'll do it together.
But what if they take her from him? Especially now, when he's lost nearly everyone else?

I always knew Merrin was in love with Cal since Fallen Order. I was surprised that he finally allowed himself to love her back. When he didn't pull back after she kissed him but leaned in or when he didn't push back at Bodes insinuation to embraces a future with Merrin, that's was the confirmation that he really was in love with her. Then of course, when he finally admitted his feelings. Merrin is a patient woman, he should marry her at once.
I still don't understand so many people saying they broke up because of the lines I can't go back to what we were and and the response me neither. She says basically that things are complicated right now (with starting the new path and literally adopting Kata) but we will find a way to work through it together. I would hope they would want to take their time with their relationship so they make sure to get it right because not only would it effect them but kata as well.
seriously? i didn't know someone interpreted this line as break up 😮 especially in context of them planning dates, adopting a kid, and everyone around them telling how cute and in love they are 😁
@@tj3603 Believe it or not I have seen several comments and even articles on survivor saying they were broken up or taking a break. One article was one done by ggrecon which is titled SW Jedi survivor ending explained. What will happen next? They say that nobody knows if cal and merrin will get together officially because of that dialogue at the end. But they also alter the conversation by replacing words like can't with wouldn't want to and leave out Merrin saying nor can I which changes the conversation by a lot.
@@guardiansbest5476 wow, this is unexpected. To me even this line sounded more like "Hey, we can't go back to will-they-wont-they after everything that happened, so it's official, we're couple. I have dark side tendencies, there's empire destroyer in the sky, we planning to rebuild secret rebels network under their noses, and we have a kid, so shit going to be complicated. But together will figure it out, right?" I mean, both of them have so much skin in the game. They are crazy powerful together, they have common goal, they have a kid, they keep each other sane, and they are in love. I can't imagine what could happen to justify them leaving each other at this point.
@@tj3603 I will say a lot of these game reviews come from people who rush through the game. They don' t really pay that much attention to the game or its dialogue but are simply trying to make a deadline and move on. The funny thing is Merrin actually calls cal stubborn in this game meaning when he is all about something he doesn't t let it go. I can guarantee this will also apply to his relationship with Merrin. My worry is not whether or not they will be together in the next game which I'm sure they will. My worry is if one or both die in the next game. Too many bad relationship endings in star wars. They can at least give us a good ending once in a while.
@@guardiansbest5476 valid concern. Next game set out to be about fatherhood and mentorship. Cal may sacrifice himself to protect Kata, as all his parental figures did for him. Not to mention most jedi mentors die tragically in front of their students. So it's very real possibility. But to be honest I don't mind him dying at the end if this trilogy, he always was tragic character, it may be very moving, as long as it done well. It also saves him from milking by Disney. I would hate to see his character warped beyond recognition in some hideous D+ show, like Kenobi or BOBF.
