I have the same AF model. So this was interesting. We all have our own likes and dislikes. I hate painted wood. Makes the wood look cheap, IMHO. Overall I hated their color scheme. Just not for me. But it was interesting. The newer AF fifth wheel closet doors now open completely so the washer is not trapped in a corner.
Looks good. Just wondering if they weighed after to see how much weight all of that added? I see lots of remodels and just wonder if weight is a concern. Thanks
Remodeling our 2018 Arctic Fox and like the barn door concept on the closet. What is the projection distance from the wall? It appears the door slab is in the way of the slide when bringing in. How do you cope with that? Also, with the king size bed it is really narrow passage between current closet door and the mattress and a barn door style would make this even tighter. That's why it would be helpful to know the brand of by-pass hardware you used and the distance projection from the wall. Also, what is the depth of the custom door slabs your dad built? Thank you! Steve Stromberg
Most don’t mention what year RV or travel trailer insurance companies will no not insurance or parks age restrictions on rv allowed to be anchored inside their park for long term stays? Could you please do a video on this if you have not already?
We have a 2018 Arctic Fox 27-5L (different model then theirs). We have medium brown wood & like it. The white really lightens theirs up tho. What model is theirs?
Thanks for this video! We have the EXACT same model and this gives me a good road map for renovating our rig. My question is whether your parents painted over the existing wallpaper in the main living space. You talked about painting the walls, but the walls are all wallpaper. Thanks in advance for any advice!
Happy that you enjoy the renovation of your parents Arctic Fox, we also have an Arctic Fox 35-5Z and like are ugly brown wood grain cabinets and ornate wood trim. We like the warmth and style and don’t much care for the all white interiors but to each his own.
1) To hold the pine board trim on with the tacks. Did he predrill the boards and then put long tacks through? 2) Our 5th wheel has a raised lip on the slide out floor. How do you put the flooring on and have a finished edge? 3) How did they paint everything? I have heard that painting over the walls can be a pain. One utube video said you have to peel off the paper. Is that true? (Hope not) One last question In order to tile the floor is it necessary to first put down cement board first? Thank you for all your hard work on the videos that y'all put out!
Answers from my dad: The tacks cover the screws that hold the boards on. Used a flexible wall trim to cover the transition. Used Lowes top of the line paint (paint primer all in one). Took two coats. Did not remove paper. Floor is floating- no glue. On top of existing floor. Did screw down in a couple of spots to keep it steady.
How did they make the transition with the slide edge with the new flooring material? Our AF 27-5L slide floor is slightly elevated when the slide is retracted.
@@GratefulGlamper hmmm, not familiar with that. You have a name/manufacturer? I'd love to re-do our floor to get rid of slide carpet but have been told it's not possible. Your folks should post the solution on the AF owners group site.
Hi - when your parents painted over the wallpaper, what type of paint did they use? Anything special? Specific to RVs? Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Great video they did a great job. Just my thought painting the inside of the cabinet doors will make the job look much more professional and complete. Love what they did. 🤗😉
LOVE the way your parents redid their camper! Absolutely awesome the way it turned out!! Can tell where you get your makeover do's & don't's. We learn from our parents, don't we?☺️ They are very practical folks, they designed it for their lifestyle & sometimes that's what you have to do to get what you want. Maybe y'all need to get a job with these RV designer's just to show them what most folks like; bright & cheerful 😊vs. dull & drab 🙄.
I would love to know the flooring used. The previous owner almost upgraded my floor with peel n stick vinyl planks. They aren't adhering and are laid totally wrong in rows instead of staggered. Maddening and must be changed. Was wondering about shifting of snap together flooring. Thanks
All the white looks beautiful and fresh! I love the new light fixtures and the folddown table. The bedding and barn doors are great. I am not sure if it is the lighting, but what color(s) are the bedroom walls? They look a rust color but I am not sure if that is the true color. The trim with the upholstery screws is genius! I don't care for the standard RV valences either. What be type of paint/prep was done in the walls and cabinets?
I LOATHE the valances, but they serve the purpose of containing the blinds, which I love having. Since I'm building my own (restoring a vintage trailer but tin and trailer was all that was salvageable so basically I'm building a new one and wrapping it in classic tin), I'm keeping the pull-down blinds up front for sure, but building the top part of the front wall to include a hidden channel of a couple of inches so I can have a pull-down blind without having to ugly up the wall. The roll is actually going to be hidden in a cabinet up top.

One side of our trim got ripped off with the slide and I like it better without it.
Great job...beautiful vacation home! Thanks for sharing it with us.

Some great ideas, window pillow slips and reflective genius!, Sorry not a fan of the hospital white gray yuk. Boring.

Yes, they’ve weighed in a few times. They took out quite of furniture before adding the mods.
What’s the shelf under the microwave? I want tone.
I love, love these type of videos to see the creativity of others and getting ideas. Thank you and your parents for sharing their home for this tour.

Love love! Sorry I sold our 04 Montana it was the same layout! But we do love our newer to us Montana.
Very nice!

It’s a 2019 Arctic Fox 29-5T
I'm being word picky. You said frig receding to the freezer. Frozen milk doesn't sound good.
Unless it’s ice cream….😜

Wallpaper in an RV is a wallpaper combo vinyl wall covering. So you want to just paint over it or else you’re down to the plywood.
I want to know how he did floor slide to middle floor trim
There is a rubber strip on the slide flooring that over laps the slide to floor area
Thanks for sharing. The mods speak to my style and sense of practicality. This rig is my new favorite! Safe Travels.
Thanks for watching and safe travels
Why don’t manufacturers make these rvs beautiful to start with. Surely people don’t want all that dark wood?
Some manufacturers are finally getting to and moving to lighter colors inside. But there is still lot of dark colors out there too
I love that fold down bar seating. Can you please provide a link for purchasing that?

Well, it doesn’t look like my AF.

Any chance your dad remembers the brand or where he purchased the dual track barn door hardware for the closet?
yep, he purchased on Amazon: amzn.to/3ASak61
Love the video and your narration.
Thanks for watching and for the kind words
Is that wall paper in the kitchen or was that already there? Love love the Reno.
The peel and stick tile was installed as part of the reno.

With a flexible wall trim for the slide transition

Seems like they pretty much bought it new im surprised they already done 1 reno lol thats still a new rig but it looks really good inside
Like a lot of us, they were tired of the darker colors. And wanted to make it more functional for their full time living needs. Thanks for watching
@@GratefulGlamper i really like the breakfast bar that folds down
That really looks awesome!

Just paint over wall paper with a residential paint. Best wishes.
How much do they travel in this 5th wheel?
Full time
@@GratefulGlamper how often do they move it?
@@RickandDarcirvadventures depends on time of year - usually about 1x a month, sometimes about every 6-8 weeks.

Very creative! The new wall in the living area…is it wallpaper, peel and stick tile (that looks like wood) or actual wood planks?
Peel and stick wall paper!
Thanks! How does peel & stick hold up in the Florida humidity?
@@annbackus4773 so far, so good. We do run our A/C's which helps to dehumdify the air as well as a dehumidifier when needed on occasion as well.

My dad used a all in one paint/primer from Lowes. The walls are all white.
It’s beautiful. I thought it was an apartment and only the title of the video reminded me that it was a trailer.
