    For the first train, I think 50 mph (around 70 kph if I'm not mistaken) is very impressive! Is this the normal speed for London underground? And another question, where the heck is the powered rail? XD

      50mph is the top speed of trains on the modern underground, although I didn't realise this particular set could go that fast. I do wonder if its been modified in preservation. There are 2 powered rails on the underground, a central and outer one, charged positively and negatively. If i remember correctly this was due to the running rails being unable to be used for return current without affecting early electronic signalling systems way back in the early 1900s.
