I cried buckets watching ellegy for fallen wellies and his funeral in the programme felt like lost a family member loved compo and love last of the summer wine 🙏❤️😢😢🌹🌹
@@gordontaylor5373 compo in a way reminds me of my grandad he is cheeky and mischievous just like compo was, the programme was never the same after he died
The way the script writers handled the situation was pure gold, respectful but with the typical humour you'd expect when Compo was involved. Kudos to all the actors and of course Shiela Hancock who allowed the writers to add another dimension to Comp's character. I still enjoy watching repeats including the elegy series.
Wonderful actor, how I miss seeing & hearing Compo, thank you Tom Owen for your contribution to "Last Of The Summer Wine" you are a credit to your Father. God bless you & yours.
We visited Holmfirth about four years ago, and you could almost feel him there and it was good to see the Cafe and Nora Batty’s home where Compo spent a lot of time on them steps trying to woo her! Very funny man ,great actor! RIP Bill!

I know i'm just a "Yank" but alot of my favorite shows are from "Across The Pond"! Espically The Last Of The Summer Wine. That will always be a definately favorite of mine, along with Are You Being Served? The characters in both shows, actually were like some of the people I grew up knowing, both in friends of my family, AND my family! Compo, that character in many ways was my own beloved father!!! Thank you for many years of fun, and laughter, England!
Beautifully worded sentiment-Bill Owen,Peter Sallis and company were the perfect antidote-along with the rambling Yorkshire Moors/Dales-to modern society's ever increasing instability and unhappiness...x
Your not just a Yank You’re very special please don’t forget that I’m in the UK And I watched Last Of The Summer Wine comedy all the time it’s fantastic and I’m glad we’ve got the same interest
Nesta Jarrett I wondered where everybody had been! This is good to know: It's ridiculous to have 872 friends and only 25 are allowed to see my post. I ignored this post earlier, but It WORKS!! I have a whole new news feed. I’m seeing posts from people I haven’t seen in years. Here’s how to bypass the system FB now has in place that limits posts on your news feed. Their new algorithm chooses the same few people - about 25 - who will read your posts. Therefore, Hold your finger down anywhere in this post and "copy" will pop up. Click "copy". Then go your page, start a new post and put your finger anywhere in the blank field. "Paste" will pop up and click paste. This will bypass the system. If you are reading this message, do me a favor and leave me a quick comment...a "hello," a sticker, whatever you want, so you will appear in my newsfeed!
@@hughiewinsor593 💝 when Compo died in my favorite show, Last of the Summer Wine. I cryed so hard, i also felt like a I had lost a loved friend that I was never able to meet, but that goes for each and every one of wonderful people who brought life to my days. The show made a mark in my heart. May I watch it on Brit Box for many years to come. I wish they would show from beginning to end and then start all over 🤗💗
I have two favorite shows,Summer Wine, and Andy Griffith, when I was a kid in the late(very) fifties and into the 60's I spent many days with my grandfather, on his small dairy farm helping out (or more like getting in the way really) at noon time he would take his long break, nap, before evening milking, and chores, part of that time was a visit to Mayberry,so that show is special to me,as is summer wine,I was nearing retirement when I discovered it on Sat. tv.had the luck to see some original broadcasts of Andy Griffith, and some Summer wine replays while the show was still being filmed.
Apparently, during a weekend off from filming Bill Owen used to go to the shops in Holme Firth dressed in his Sunday best clothes, and nobody would recognise him, although there were tourists there come to visit the locations.....
They tried plenty of other characters to help fill the gap after Compo died. To me, Tom Simmonite was the best of the lot. I wish they had done more stories with him.

Last of the summer wine was decent best time comedy there never will be a show like it and best greats compo cleggy foggy dewhurst are greatest of all comedy
I have wrote my own comedy named the Stay inn gang I have wrote 2 series and there are 8 episodes so far I am in the middle of doing the end of series 3. It’s a comedy/drama one death per series or less but no more than that. I am wondering who to publish it to please give a response. Yours Man City Uk
Such and soft gentle comedy. Easy watching. The early series with Blamire were so different to the rest. Clegg was not afraid of women and not a nervous wreck. They were crude and it was just differing to the rest. They should have done more holidays and trips out to add a bit of variety to the show . How a show just mainly focusing around the same town and small group of people, constantly using the same material lasted so long is amazing. For me. When Compo died, they would have been better off ending the show and doing a spin off maybe, as the show was awful for me after Compo died. To be honest, the last time Foggy left, it was going downhill. They altered the formula and kept doing so. It just became too ridiculous.
Fantastic show
O. How I. Love. This. Show thank. You to show. This. Over again
