Happy to do so, Dave! It’s beautiful and it was very kind of you to create it for the fundraiser.

I just wanted to give a plug for the Walt Disney Family Museum. It is really excellent. It isn't just a collection of artifacts, although it does have many. It is very "alive" in how the entire history of Walt Disney and the many projects are presented. It does justice to, well, Walt Disney. So, it has to be good. And if you grew up with Walt Disney's work as part of your life, it is triple excellent.

At 4:27 we see Art Linkletter with the microphone. I heard him speak at a Bakersfield Business and Finance Conference many years ago and he discussed his close friendship with Walt Disney. Disney had driven him out to the area where he planned to build Disneyland. Art told him it was too far away from the population and would never work and did not want to invest in it. But if it did get built, he asked if he could he have the Kodak franchise for the first year. Of course, Art Linkletter was rather wrong about Disneyland, but was very successful with the Kodak franchise.

    Hello Michael!
I started watching your videos because I volunteer at Carolwood and want to learn more information to share with visitors. I only recently learned from another video about your involvement with the organization.Funnily enough, I am pictured to the left in your picture of the volunteers! I definitely had a fangirl moment. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and all the work you have done for Carolwood. I would love to meet you if you are ever around the barn again. Please stop by and say hi!

Thank you so much for your comment and -- even more so -- for your volunteer service to the Carolwood Foundation. One of our upcoming episodes is all about Walt Disney's Carolwood Barn and I intend to film it all on location. I'll let Doug know in advance and I hope to meet you in person then.

Another great video. Years ago you facilitated a tour of the barn and in process renovation of the combine for my wife and I. Never forgot that moment. Many thanks!

The baggage compartment didn't have to be non-revenue generating. Some railroads (e.g., the East Broad Top RR in Rockhill Furnace, PA) put benches there. With the baggage doors open (and safety railings in place) you get a good ride & view out.

Another awesome episode here for me to love! I love the combine car of the SF&D railroad!

Fantastic! The details of the combine are fascinating, and I learned some nuggets that I didn’t know about. I had never considered that a portion of the car generated no revenue. Seeing the archival videos and behind the scenes photos really make these videos special.

@@onceuponatrain Awesome! I really hope something is brought up about the real GWR 6000 because that is one of my favorite british locomotives

I can assure you that it will be mentioned. In 2015, I was contacted by the editor of Swindon Heritage, named after the town where the 6000 was built and was displayed after retirement. We exchanged several messages about the King George V appearing at the Chicago Rail Fair -- it didn't -- but I learned a lot about Swindon's heritage in our ensuing conversation. I'd be happy to give them a shout-out as they promoted the Barn in the "Swindon 175" edition of that magazine.
