Did nobody read the Vanity Fair article that came out recently? The show will be about a renegade group of Skrulls who broke off from Talos and then started infiltrating governments because they grew fed up from Fury not fulfilling his promises to them in finding them a new home world. Also, Emilia Clarke’s character is on the side of the renegades and she’s Talos’s daughter who was briefly seen in the Captain Marvel movie. Also, this show would be the perfect opportunity to bring back the Agents of SHIELD characters in some capacity.
6:52 for the Groot bit, maybe one of them was in the crowd when Star Lord did his dance off against Ronan. Since Groot's original body got shattered and all that, maybe one of them picked up a few samples from the wreckage with that whole crowd around and all that. Or maybe one of them was in one of the Endgame or Infinity line ups and picked up some pieces of him that fell during the battle when he was fighting. from what I saw in the trailer, I think that was just regular stretching skrull arm that I think is in a basic skrull fighting package.
All this talk of DNA made me think this would be a good time to introduce something "sinister" ...I don't know that there's been any hints at Mr. Sinister, but I keep thinking of ins for X-Men mainstays that I would like to see.
I think it would be fun to have Rogue in here as like a runaway who was found by the government and used for this mission and then runs away so that she can find and be raised by mystique, but that's a reach and I doubt it'll happen

It's entirely possible Nathaniel Essex is involved, though I don't think it is super likely. It would make a lot of sense, especially if they need DNA and the fact a large portion of the show seems to take place in the UK. Also, remember, before meeting Apocalypse, Essex was still doing genetic research, just not on mutants. It wasn't til he met Apocalypse that he changed focus to exclusively mutants. Hell, he even work with The High Evolutionary(someone we know will be showing up in Guardians), and Miles Warren.

the thing that got me excited about this is if Secret Invasion really lives up to this high stakes espionage/Winter Solider level vibes then I am confident that Daredevil Born Again will be great and everyone worrying that it's gonna be watered down and cheesy can chill out a bit. Cause if you have serious ass characters like Fury who have also been in relatively more lighthearted things like Spiderman (just like Daredevil too) but still have more gritty solo or other material then it's fine. (Also Matt Murdock has always had a sense of humor and I really don't think him in SheHulk was that OOC he was just very out of his element in LA)

Winter Soldier and Secret Invasion are about uncovering something , Civil War and TFAWS are about the consequences of power. I think Daredevil will have a little bit of both but if the objective of Murdock is the same in "finding how deep Kingpin's corruption of NYC is" then it leans more into the former not the latter. ALSO if there is any material/IP Marvel could use to make a rip off/their version of The Batman it's Daredevil. Think Feige saw the Batman and was like hmmm we got a guy with similar vibes. Hell im sure we wouldn't have gotten the Batman if the original Daredevil show wasn't as successful as it is. Think Daredevil will be Marvel's attempt to curb the criticism all they do now is bad CGI and cheesy one liners. The biggest thing people have to understand is there is changing a character completely, and putting a character in situations they haven't been in before. That's why Matt in LA felt so jarring, but I think once he's back home in NYC things'll feel much more familiar. And the fact that out of all the original cast they are bringing back Kingpin and Punisher arguably the two most violent hardcore characters tells me they are at least tryin to anchor the show in that same grounded gritty vibe that made everyone love the original.

8:48 that's what I liked about Captain Marvel, that it showed that not all the Skrulls were bad. And rather than in the older comics there being small exception here and there with most of the skrulls being bad. I liked how they've been changing that in recent years. I think there's the more radical and fanatical that are like the classic skrulls we know that want to take over and stuff. While others just want to go about their buisness and live life and stuff after probably loosing their planet to Galactus back in the 90s and probably not really able to settle on most worlds due to The Kree controlling a large part of habitalble Galatic space or something.

When Far From Home came out I figured that skrulls would become the new infinity stones and we’d start seeing them pop up in after credits all over the place and they could lead to the next big Avengers event. After seeing the Tetris movie I’m reminded of how good a paranoid spy thriller can be and the lack of more skrulls (besides the one in WandaVision) gives way to more surprises in the series.
If Rhodey is a Skrull, Armor Wars would be hella interesting. Would be kind of a cop out if they just say "oh nah, the real Rhodey is just asleep somewhere," instead of making him a Skrull the whole time.
There are plenty of other Super Skrulls to take inspiration from, not just the Fantastic 4 one. I think you're right and that they're building the super skrull based on the powers of humans and aliens that have been collected or analyzed, via Damage Control or other methods. Damage Control has probably been a Skrull Sect for years.
The thing is, the FF one is *the* Super Skrull. There are others, but he's the first and by far the most iconic. Even if they give him different powers (which would probably make more sense--not much point in giving him the Fantastic Four's powers when there isn't a Fantastic Four in the movies yet) he's still the one it'd make the most sense to take inspiration from.

I think you missed the part where they show a bunch of bodies like glowing blue or their in blue chambers or something it’s kinda hard to tell. But that’s literally the “warehouse” that you said seems to be missing where all the bodies are of people they’re taking the place of. Also I think that they’re setting up for a super skrull for sure but it’s the mcu, I don’t think that the powers matter all that much. I think a general skrull with a ton of powers will suit the role.

My theory is that they aren't skrulls. They're a secret experiment that was able to harness the skrull abilities and then further enhance it to absorb super powers and other abilities. So maybe its hydra again, or the ten rings, or the lady from Seinfeld. But it just seems rather interesting we dont see any other skrulls in skrull form. Only the one we know from captain marvel shows his skrull form. So who are the shapeshifters? Not sure, soldiers, spies, leftovers of the widows, clones. It could be anything. But i thing the room of people hooked up to those beds is significant

I assume the origin of super skrulls but again not a lot of interest in these trailers to excite me to watch. Flag smashers and zemo in the teaser and trailer if falcon and the winter soldier felt like they were more intimidating imo as well as having more interesting backstory. The idea that there are extremists who agree with Thanos that the world was better off with half of everyone dead AND somehow they are super soldier militants too is a more interesting idea than some skrulls aren't good imo. And skrulls are cool in comics so I feel the mcu isn't showing how great they could be. They should be more interesting in this trailer as a group of aliens who people like fury thought he could trust but was it a long game they were playing and kree despite being evil we're right or is it just some bad apples who knows. The spy thriller of who can you trust relating to skrulls who appeared to be Earth's friends not foes should be so much more interesting imo than the trailers are showing. Should be thrilling. For me it's just boring and bland and generic

I've also heard some suggest that the Avengers aren't around because it's taking place, at least partially, during the snap. I haven't watched the video yet but am about to. I just want to say that I think that every single character in this show is or has been a Skrull at some point we know about Nick Fury and Maria Hill and I do not think it is a stretch to guess war machine and Ross have been Skrullified for at least a portion of their lives

I'm sure the show will be fine, but it's still weird to me how few big names are actually on the table to be Skrulls. I guess it'd be too much to ask for any Avengers to be Skrulls, but a lot of the appeal of Secret Invasion imo is the "it could be anyone" of it all and right now there are maybe five characters it could be.

She's such a big star and playing not necessarily a "random" Skrull, but someone slightly smaller than what fans expected, unless they twist things around and do a new take on a character we already know. (Abigail Brand, Jessica Drew, Veranke).

If Nick Fury senior was a thing it would be cool to have the Sgt. Nick Fury (the original version of the character) and maybe he could have a history with the Howling Commandos or he could have a history with Wolverine in the past
I honestly really like both versions of Nick Fury so it would be cool to have the mean older gruff army one (the white one) and this version of Nick Fury (the super spy) both are really cool characters

My theory is that they aren't skrulls. They're a secret experiment that was able to harness the skrull abilities and then further enhance it to absorb super powers and other abilities. So maybe its hydra again, or the ten rings, or the lady from Seinfeld. But it just seems rather interesting we dont see any other skrulls in skrull form. Only the one we know from captain marvel shows his skrull form. So who are the shapeshifters? Not sure, soldiers, spies, leftovers of the widows, clones. It could be anything. But i thing the room of people hooked up to those beds is significant

@@murk4552 I guess. From the teaser end this trailer rogue or evil skrulls are not giving me much excitement. I assume the origin of super skrulls but again not a lot of interest in these trailers to excite me to watch. Flag smashers and zemo in the teaser and trailer if falcon and the winter soldier felt like they were more intimidating imo as well as having more interesting backstory. The idea that there are extremists who agree with Thanos that the world was better off with half of everyone dead AND somehow they are super soldier militants too is a more interesting idea than some skrulls aren't good imo. And skrulls are cool in comics so I feel the mcu isn't showing how great they could be. They should be more interesting in this trailer as a group of aliens who people like fury thought he could trust but was it a long game they were playing and kree despite being evil we're right or is it just some bad apples who knows. The spy thriller of who can you trust relating to skrulls who appeared to be Earth's friends not foes should be so much more interesting imo than the trailers are showing. Should be thrilling. For me it's just boring and bland and generic

I haven't watched the video yet but am about to. I just want to say that I think that every single character in this show is or has been a Skrull at some point we know about Nick Fury and Maria Hill and I do not think it is a stretch to guess war machine and Ross have been Skrullified for at least a portion of their lives

I'm sure the show will be fine, but it's still weird to me how few big names are actually on the table to be Skrulls. I guess it'd be too much to ask for any Avengers to be Skrulls, but a lot of the appeal of Secret Invasion imo is the "it could be anyone" of it all and right now there are maybe five characters it could be.
Part of me thinks there won’t be any reveals that existing characters are skrulls at all- marvel hasn’t taken any big swings like that in a long time and I wouldn’t expect them to take it here with a series that a lot of the general public don’t know is happening or understand the skrulls from comics- would LOVE to be proven wrong though

If I remember right, didn't we get some reference to Nick Fury's dad in Captain America: Winter Soldier? Fury talked about how his dad was an elevator boy with a bag full of tips and a loadeded 22 Magnum. It's where Fury got the whole "Take the world as it is, not as how it could be" mentality

Is it me or is Emilia Clarke's character being Talos' daughter (supposedly, I don't know if that's confirmed?), is a disappointing choice for her? She's such a big star and playing not necessarily a "random" Skrull, but someone slightly smaller than what fans expected, unless they twist things around and do a new take on a character we already know. (Abigail Brand, Jessica Drew, Veranke).
