Glad you reviewed it finally! I own one of these and there's aftermarket springs for it(around 12kg) that brings up the perf up to 90-100fps. I cut the barrel on mine for less barrel drag so it's easier to fire one handed.

Fun fact about the Model 1887: It is one of few guns that has a magazine tube written as +2. You can put a shell in the breach and one on the lift gate allowing you to have 8 shots.

That's how I load mine, mine is an 1893 serial number and I load fairly light black powder shells for the old girl

5 in the tube, one on the lift gate, then one for the chamber on top of the lift gate shell. I've seen it written as 5+1+1.

he was saying it was metal that was panted with color unlike coop who says it as if it is plastic painted with clear paint
Fun fact: In T2 the Terminator flip reloads a lever action and during the filming of that scene Arnold Schwarzenegger broke 3 fingers because he was holding a model accurate version of the gun used for close ups instead of the stunt version with a modified wider lever well.
I thought the prop guys had actually created a widen lever percisely to avoid that, if you stop the motorcycle chase scene you can see the wide loop on the shotgun before blasting the fences.
@@Invaderzim2004 they did, for wide shots he'd have the big lever loop but for close-ups it was a normal replica. He accidentally picked up the wrong one to practice with

Questions: 1:can you trim the shells to half length size to hold more in the mag tube? 2: can you brass sleeve the shell for increased power? 3: they make a shotgun too, review coming?
Shorter shells might cause an issue with feeding, since halfway through the cycle, the mouth of the shell has to be aligned with the chamber to feed correctly. But with a bit of reaming, I suppose you can stick a section of brass tube into the shell to improve dart fit.

What if you just had something like a holow spacer so you can still fit shot darts and get good air flow
This would be a great prop or cosplay weapon. For low budget filmmaking it's cheaper, safer, and easier on the insurance than typical prop weapons.
I do actually plan on buying one of these for a project im working on.

Got mine quite a long time ago. I'm still very happy with it. It's gimmicky as hell BUT WHY NOT!? It's so much fun.
The day finally came that they nerfed the Akimbo Model 1887 from MW I can't believe it
I put the brass tubing that people normally use to upgrade there nerf blasters into the shells. And it did increase the performance , including adding a drop of oil in the “oil port” on the bottom of the lever.. still a lot of fun
How much of a performance increase did you see and what tubings did you use?
So I don’t have a crono but I did measure the range.
With the suction cups darts I was hitting 30-34 feet aiming straight , and 64-70 feet with the standard short darts aiming straight and a bit farther when you angle the blaster a bit, idk of the exact range after 73ft cause dart went over my fence. Also I apologize for the late reply

Really glad to see a proper review of this, I've been getting shorts on UA-cam of these styles of blasters (real steel looking using shells) and I've been wary about the quality of them. I remember reading a comment saying that certain versions of the 1887 only held like 2 shells so that really concerned me. Might finally pick one up. Also, if you could get your hands on this mag fed trilogy knockoff I've seen on one of those sites, that'd be an interesting video.
I've seen what you're talking about but generally I don't spent money on them lol.
The ones in the shorts are way cheaper quality than the one walcom and I have.
I feel like it’s a solid version of the 1887, take it from someone who owns 2 versions (airsoft and real) it’s nice to have another variant and the gun itself becoming more available
Love the 1887. My favorite shotgun and I love lever actions, I have an original manufactured in 1893 so it's black powder only but I still shoot it a few times a year. Maybe these could help scratch the itch of a lever shotgun to mess around with
Although the real looking one is sketchy I want it. The 1887 is probably one of my favorite real life firearm and I have always wanted one.
Now I just need a box of roses and some bikers clothes, and my Halloween costume will be complete!
i literally just ordered these a day ago for my birthday, i cannot wait.
Apparently the one made to look like it is blued with wood furniture is no longer available, which sucks. I really dug the look of that one, even if it needed a tip added (which, for anyone with a 3d printer, that's trivial).

I think this uses the same shells as the UDL shotty I have. If so, there are shells you can print on Thingiverse. They weren't quite perfect but close.
I mean, I definitely need to paint an orange tip on, but the gray/wood ones are perfect for the zombie post-apocalypse LARP I attend. Ammo scarcity is a cincern, but honestly just loading both of my newly acquired ones up to max, and taking them out for a fight that needs to be ended quickly is just *chef's kiss*.
I believe this blasters fit more those tactical reload youtuber props, similar to Aleksshop and Schroder videos, not so much for actually flinging foam, but to actually feel the blaster in your hands.
Good news, there is a spring upgrade kit for the 1887. It's just a matter of finding a seller for it.

If the entire grip and top-hammer thing moved this'd be an upgraded Ratchet Blast, just I dunno, make this hypothetical blaster use those 4-dart Rail Cleaner shells or some alternative.
These can be modded to use airsoft gas shells. Such as aps as far as I'm aware. If a field allowed it, you could get some good performance as they use co2 tp propel whatever is inside the shell.
I got mine now and he ain't lying its fun as hell and built sturdy
"They don't perform that well." If they perform at nerf elite standard for their price tag and are as high quality, smooth-feeling as you say, that is very good performance.
I recently purchased a UDL Model 1887 shotgun with the black and wooden finish (just like the ones shown at the beginning of the video) and it cleared U.S customs in less than 48 hours, and when it was delivered to me, I found out why: it came with a detachable orange tip. I don't know if I just got super lucky or if it's a new standard on the shotguns with the black and wooden finish, but if anyone decides to get the same one as I did, it should hopefully come with the orange tip and customs shouldn't have a problem with it. That said, I don't know if this is guaranteed or not, this is just my experience with the product.
I did review this blaster but mine is cheaper it is fully injection molded plastic instead metal and it is completely fun at first after few rounds it's starting to jams especially the strength of the magazine. I tried to fix it but it is still the same problem or worst. I'm glad you buy the blue version it's high quality blaster but really expensive
also you should mod it with a stinger spring to up performance and maybe do a brass breech thing
I actually found the website that sells this blaster, and trust me, there are more blasters in the site you would fall in love with such as a Mosin Nagant, MK 14 EBR, Lee Enfield No III, Webley & Scott MKVI revolver, Colt Python, SPAS 12, Remington 870, M1911A1, Glock 18, SCAR H, Minigun, MP17, Colt SAA, M416, QBZ 95, Kar 98K, L96A1 AWM, Remington M24, M40A6, M79 Grenade Launcher, XM1014, and the Wingman from Titanfall and Apex Legends.
My Tippmann TMC paintball marker which is a mag fed M4 replica has no orange in it. Actually turns out tippmann also makes a .22 cal firearm that is nearly identical… hence why I carry all of my markers in a case with obvious paintball gear around it when driving to a field.
Now all you need is a gray beard, trench coat, and fedora.

One thing that turns me off from the coolest mods is the extremely high performance they often have. I like to just fling harmless bullets into the air with a gun-like edgy contraption :P

They do sell upgrade kits for these things, and I do believe there are 3d printed shells now
The Model 1887 is one of the only firearms in the world where you can ghost load a second shell for 5+2, by just stuffing one into the chamber, filling the tube, then letting an extra one rest on the lifter as you close the breech (I believe that's how it works), I wonder if the same thing is possible for that.
Nope. I tried, but the way the lifter works it relies on the round on the lifter sliding into the magazine tube when the action is closed.
They used to have a spaz 12 replica, but then I had to take it down off the store probably because it didn’t have the orange tip I hope they bring it back because it looks so cool
if you are looking for a lever action blaster for going to wars, i would advise against this. i would go for the shellington wingchester or the SLAB. this one is fun to goof around with though!!

Man… I imagine any sort of spring replacement would be hard, but man it would be worth it. And I know Walcoms days of mod videos are just about over… but maybe, just maybe an exception.

Some advice for the flip reload is that don't do that short pause.
… so I have the mad max double barrel version of this blaster, same type of shell. I modeled up a fully tight shell that should be completely cross-compatible.

Replicas of antique guns do not require an orange tip. Only modern gun replicas models require it. 1887 is antique.

I would say maybe larp but most larps don't allow cut-down darts and limited shells that can't be bought else were would be an issue, but performance wouldn't be a problem cause most larps don't allow moded springs or high fps

Walcom, i was the first person to master the single handed flip reload on this blaster :)
I know this sounds stupid, but i own 9 of these. i also am in the middle of modding one and have 3d printed a bunch of shells, (not from thingyverse or anything like it, my own design), and they will sucessfully tighly fit four .50 cal foam balls in them. That is the only way i will use the modded one once i am done, (with the foam balls). Also, at a recent local event (last man standing), i came in third place, (out of 277), using only a strongarm which i had modded to be able to interchange cylinders, no new spring or any other performace-increasing mods were done to this strongarm. Slam fire was my best friend that day. Mind you, every body else had PewPews and stuff like that. So yeah, I just wanted to tell somebody about this, because I thought it was freaken awesome. I hope you thought both of these things were cool and keep smashing out the great content!!!
Not sure on the 1887s but I've tried flipping a cut down 45lc and it ALWAYS jammed up the action with live ammo. Was so disappointed because I practiced it for weeks and got it down perfectly just to find out that it dosent work
These guys need to stop calling these Amazon blasters nerf guns in their titles. They’re not nerf they’re blasters. Before anyone tries replying nerf can be used interchangeably note that when these guys get a decently made one they call it nerf. When it’s garbage they call it a blaster to not get hasbro mad. So, they are very much aware of how they’re using the brand name Nerf.

I did not play MW2 back in the day, but I have heard the stories of how broken the Models were.
I believe to this very day Harrier jump jets are still glitched where stinger missiles will randomly go right through them. MW2 was always a mess and not as good as people remember lol.

Shotguns in nerf blasters in my opinion should only be elite standard in FPS, because shotguns are close quarters guns, you're not aiming across a field with them, you're indoors. So you don't need that kind of range, plus if you hit someone around the corner at point blank, it's not gunna hurt at that power.
So with that justification. I am 100% buying this blaster!
I wish it was a full length shell. Imagine stuffing 2 half length darts for a pseudo shotgun effect.
You know, this would make a great prop for someone who wants to go as the Terminator (Arnold), while having someone dress up as John Connor and T-1000 (Robert Patrick).
