Most cars you change the fluid at about 30 to 60 thousand miles depending on the way it's driven some work trucks you can change him as soon as 20,000 miles and CVT transmissions
There's no real contamination the main thing is that the additive packages are re raised well beyond OEM fluid which means the clutch packs will have much more detergency maintain more cleanliness also the film strength is raised because the hundred percent synthetic is a higher pressure film and it will actually run smoother even though it's only 50% changed. If one wanted to be super thorough you could actually come back a week later and read drain and fill it
@@Syntheticoilprotection I understand that but as a mechanic, you still have old fluid in the torque converter that should be drained out before adding any new fluid due to cross-contamination. Otherwise, you will blend the old with the new and that does no good for parts.
The hundred percent synthetic does a lot for the components the clutch discs and the clutch packs and bearings because it has high detergents it cleans deposits and also circulates with less parasitic drag so you'll actually get better gas mileage faster shifts even if you only change 40% of the fluid and put a new filter on. As always it's best to change as much as you can. Thanks for being a part of my UA-cam Community Greg

so where is the service that was just a drain and fill that shops that hire non experienced guys off the streets. 14 to 16 qts in that and you only got 4 out
Yes we also changed the full flow oil filter and we also changed the pan oil filter and we did this on a Allison Duramax Chevy we also did a Ford vehicle and they're all very similar. If you want to you can come back in a few miles call it a thousand miles and you can do another drain and fill on the pan and just drain it from the drain port and fill it up again and then you'll just have more fresh fluid in your transmission and with Amsoil it'll just shift a lot faster because of the hundred percent synthetic has less parasitic drag on the components also you'll notice your cold shifting is a lot faster when the car is cool in the morning
@@Syntheticoilprotection the transmission system on the dodge the 6fre holds 17qts oil fluid you took out 4 to 5 qts there is still 13 qts in the system that 13 qts of fluid needs to be changed not just new filters that goes for al transmissions

What's weight oil you using
Go look up guy will give you everything here for your specific year make and model on my website there's many different viscosities you can run you can run the 10w30 Max DVD diesel signature series for good fuel mileage that's personally my favorite you can also run the 15W-40 if you're doing Towing or you can also run the 15w-50 Dominator racing oil if you're doing racing.
It depends on what you're doing but if I was doing normal driving and no major Towing if it was my truck I would run the 10W-30 signature series Max Duty decent motor oil that's my favorite diesel oil💯

Better gas mileage in a diesel? Never heard of that.
Yeah it's pretty crazy nowadays with what they have between tuning intakes Ram Air diff covers for cooling and upgraded lubricants you're able to get 20 miles a gallon out of a 500 wheel horsepower diesel truck that weighs 7400 pounds curb weight
@@Syntheticoilprotection I think the point was that a diesels gas mileage is zero miles per gallon.
They actually can get decent mileage when you have them set up with the Right Tires intake tune and fluids
Pretty sure he's meaning diesels don't have "gas mileage " since they're "diesels 😂
You could leave the two bolts on both sides and tab it to loosen and let it drain 🙄
☕️
Steve, what it run for all required fluid for a 68 RFE ?? You sell it and ship ?

I rather buy the atf fluid buy the gallon instead of quarts save 20 bucks
Great thinking!
You can save a lot more than 20 bucks if you buy a couple cases😉😁
Better yet if you buy it by the 275 gallon tote it'll be even a better price.......lol

The oem “gasket” on the 68rfe transmission is a silicon gasket, NOT a standard gasket.
Thanks for sharing that with the channel☕
You can buy aftermarket gaskets that work and no messy RTV
I use them on my 2018 ram 2500 with 68RFE
I bought my truck 3 years ago and love it. The first thing I did was to have the transmission serviced. It was at least 2 years later that I was told one of the bolts is cross threaded. Should I get rid of the truck? I don't trust a whole lot of mechanics and I HATE going to a dealer.
You can get the thread to repaired.
What about the fluid in the converter????
You'll see there's two different viscosities Marcus there's a capacity for the initial fill and the total fill when you do a transmission service most of the time you only get about half of it out you'll see the full difference on your vehicle here with the lookup guide.
If you ever want to do another drain and fill you 10 and that'll help get a lot more out.

What do I need for my 09 Cummins 6.7L
This is my link to my website and it's best to become a 6-month amsoil preferred customer which will give you the wholesale pricing at about 25% off and you'll also have the free shipping and promotions along with the quarterly amsoil magazine.
If that was my truck I would do the signature series max duty diesel also the diesel injector clean I would get one case of 16 oz bottles and I would also get a bottle of engine flush and the amsoil oil filter.
I think that's a great place to start he'll get a chance to see the performance difference and then from there you can switch other fluids as you go.

How many qt of ATF does it take to do the job?
I think it's seven but I would double check the lookup guide here it will give you all fluids capacities for everything on your vehicle engine transmission differential coolant.

Where would I find a gasket?
You can get one at usually any auto parts store O'Reilly's Auto parts etc also you could also go online too there's a bunch of online retailers that have filtered gasket kits.
Most likely Amsoil has the gasket kit for your truck This will give you the lookup guide everything for your vehicle

I thought you never change the trans fluid, who's right?
Most cars you change the fluid at about 30 to 60 thousand miles depending on the way it's driven some work trucks you can change him as soon as 20,000 miles and CVT transmissions
Amsoil transmission fluid doesn’t carry the fca atf+4 license. It doesn’t belong in any fca vehicle.
What is FCA vehicle?
You didn’t drain the torque converter so needless to say you have contaminated the new fluid you added.
I wonder if this will make my second Ram transmission last longer than 49,xxx miles, Lol!
Of course it'll also shift better smoother quieter less vibration there's also some other additives I highly recommend if you have a diesel

It depends on the transmission there are a few different types of Transmissions that come on these trucks I highly recommend double checking which one you have and also the lookup guide will give you everything here in my website for your specific model.

That’s definitely not a 2500 the dipstick is on the opposite side of
Some trucks are a little bit different depending on the year even some of them can have a different Transmission in the same model year just depends on the component you'll see on the lookup guide there's a lot of different technical pins for differentials sometimes they change things mid model year however very rare but does still happen.

I like the ez pack but thay cost more
There genius when it comes to tough to reach differentials.
They still make it in the regular bottles as well😉
I would never use air tools to put that pan back on... Never!....kind of sus
Yeah I love the new brushless snap-on impact guns are amazing how much feel you have I got one before they went brushless and it was still amazing and the one guy Stephen he's been on the channel a couple of times and he said it's his favorite tool is his 1/4 in snap on impact
so where is the service that was just a drain and fill that shops that hire non experienced guys off the streets. 14 to 16 qts in that and you only got 4 out
I don't understand what was draining filled?
@@Syntheticoilprotection drain and fill is just the oil in the pan you drain then fill it back up and call it a transmission service
👍
