  • Time to move this vice onto someone who can use it.... Contact me via email which is in the About section of this youtube channel page. ALSO .. Going to see Clark at @Windy Hill Foundry, Inspecting the replacement Jon Dow oil tank, looking at my Safe Hitch hitch to see if it can be repaired, and a whole lot of other shop stuff!

Nothing lost to disassemble the hitch and see if one could tig in new material and machine it back to spec ... otherwise, it's a great paperweight now!
    Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦

Don probably needs the planer shaper vise. That way it will be all painted and pretty next time we see it.

Good to see you still kicking around and raising a ruckus. Turns out we went right through your neck of the woods back in first week of January this year. I bought a round baler from WC Tractor at Brenham. Stopped in Navasota to eat shortly after dark that day. I’m up in the extreme NW corner of IA.

I find it amazing that my favorite Utube channels are all interconnected. There must be close to a million content providers and I subscribe to about 30. And yet you know Clark and Leo and Keith and several more. I think it’s wonderful.

Steve, Regarding the lightning zapped solar panel, A mate and I have both had strikes here in Australia, when we examined the panels we found they were dead like your customers, but when testing we decided to remove the diodes( that bypass faulty strings on the panel) and found that they had gone short circuit, long story short, we replaced the diodes and siliconed over the zap point and they are still working today(2 years later).
If you have the time(Yes I know that's a short commodity), I suggest you try removing the diodes to see how the panel is without them, and if ok replace them.
I know you probably can't reuse them on a commercial job, but they're handy to have temp spares.
    Cheers from Down Under.
P.S. Don't know what to say about that hitch, but I would like to see how it works inside if you get to pulling it apart.
Maybe it's a simple as a steel tongue that bends with weight applied(for the gauge) and the loose ball is simply a nut come undone a bit???

15 inches of rain! And here on the other end of I35 we are still in a drought. Less that three inches of snow this winter!

Steve bore the hitch out, and lock-tite in a threaded steel sleeve. That'll outlast Rock2.

Best fix is just use a proper hitch of the correct offset to make trailer level or slightly tilted to rear. 😎

It is good to see the oil pump company standing by their product. Did you try contacting the hitch company for a replacement part? With a safety issue like that hopefully they will send replacement part.

Maybe you can help get Clark setup with a proper crane/hoist for his shop. If you've seen his videos, you know what I mean.

Axelson are great lathes. they were designed by bob veet in warren michigan. It was a knock off of a lodge and shipley. Veet thought his were superior.
