I was asked at a medical clinic to find a room for a husband to pray while his wife gets examined. I told him this is a clinic, not a religious building. He should have planned her appointment when it isn't his prayer time.
I've always wondered what all that prayer is for. It doesn't seem to be working for them.

I had two Muslim employees who tried this shit in our lunchroom. They tried to bully the other staff first on their morning breaks, then they tried it again at lunch time, I gave them a choice, I told them that they could shut their pieholes and STOP harassing the rest of the staff with their religious beliefs, or… they could choose to have me fire them on the spot if they kept flapping their yaps. Guess what happened? They tried to bully me by telling me that as an employer I had to accommodate them. I fired them both on the spot and the people in the lunch room actually clapped because they were all thinking the same damn thing, but they were too weak to say anything. DO NOT COMPLY! Be well.

I lived for 20 years in a very Muslim area of Kenya. During Ramadan, not one single non-muslim person was even looked at in a threatening way for eating or drinking during that time. In fact a very important part of Ramadan is to have pure thoughts and kindness towards others. To say he can smell the food is tempting him, he must be a pretty weak minded Muslim, because self-control is very much a part of the process.
When I first went to Dubai for a job, it was the month of Ramadan. Without knowing the rules of that country, I was drinking coke outside. One guy came to beat me for this. Somehow I managed and escaped from the situation.
In the United Arab Emirates, I worked for some years. During those years I adopted that country's law, even if I don't feel comfortable.

As a muslim I have to tell that our ritual is our own responsibility. Muslims shall not spread their beliefs by force. There might be a lot of young muslims forgot this because they were sleeping in class. Even in my country, Indonesia, where muslims are the majority, some muslims still oppress another muslims to follow their rituals and beliefs. I think the problem was started in early 2000's.

I’m Catholic and I fast on Good Friday. After the age of 7 I would fast on Good Friday even in school. That meant I would sit in the cafeteria with all the other kids eating lunch around me. If I could do that as a CHILD, surely a grown man should be able to control himself on a bus ride! He should be ashamed of himself!

I once had a guy do some painting work at my place and he was a Muslim. As most would know they have their timings to offer prayers and he asked if he could get some space for a few minutes to offer his prayers. I blatantly told him I'm an atheist and religion is banned in my household and if he wants to do anything remotely religious he can leave right now and do it someplace else. He left looking offended and came back later to finish the job. this is what happened in my school at my place. They don't want us to eat at class rooms( we don't have cafeteria) to respect kid who take fasting. They changed our school uniform (shirt with half skirt to pant with long top and shawl which muslim can use along with hijab).The stopped physical education because ours is mixed school.

As a Christian, I know other Christians who fast during Lent. However, they never demand anyone fast with them. This is ridiculous.
As a buddhist, everyone knows we all fast. But none of us would tell others to stop eating, you can eat in front of me, no problem. This happens in Malaysia, and so, when they were in fasting month, they will tell other not in the same faith to eat in the toilet, not at school canteen, because they can still smell the food some extremist also suggest to shut down school canteen during fasting month. Ridiculous.

True but many Christians don't fast during lent either. As a former Christian I never fasted for lent. A couple times I gave up other things, but that was half hearted as best. However many of the Christians in the US are trying to force their beliefs on women's bodies. Don't get me started on how for so long they also were successful in keeping consenting adults from getting legally married, and thus they blocked the rights and obligations that come with a legal marriage.
Honestly I think any religious group that becomes a majority in a country is a threat to other people's rights.

In general though I have worked with a number of Muslims and they have never tried any of this on the rest of the team.
In fact when people have tried to avoid eating in front of them, they have encouraged us to eat and drink as we normally would.

I am an Indian, Hindu by religion. My family was on vacation at Kashmir (India) during Ramzan. My minor son was taking a sip of fruit juice at a garden gate, when an old man confronted him and shamed him for drinking during ramzan. My son felt confused and humiliated at the same time, in his own country.

I have been to Turkey on holidays for the past 27 years, very often it is Ramadan, but NOT ONCE did I EVER get set upon for eatin during daylight hours. The actual natives of Turkey, Antalya mostly, understand that tourists are not Muslim, so they actually tollerate them without any problem. It would seem to me that we should go about our lives protecting our beliefs, if you live in a Christian country, people who move there should respect the state where they live, they can still practice ramadan, or any other sitte from other religions, but if they try to ostracise you for your beliefs, then they should be firmly put in their place. Islam would, to me, seem to be based on confrontationalism, brutality and ignorance and should absolutely not be tollerated in that form, but don't forget, for every extremist, there are thousands of thoroughly decent people. A boxer fights the other boxer in the ring, not the people that are in the audience.
The big mistake this Muslim man made was lecturing a black woman about how she should behave. I hope he learns a lesson.

And it's absolutely UNHEALTHY! Every nutritionist would advise to eat a huge breakfast, a significant lunch and no dinner or just a very meek dinner, like some salad and maybe a bit of fish. Every carb we eat at night is more likely to make us more obese. Just look at the obesity statistics of the Gulf countries.
I met some Muslim people who lose weight during Ramadan, but they are very careful of just eating a little bit at night and drinking a lot of water. A really serious faster would never harrass an eating person, just because he will try to preserve and not to waste his energy until sundown. These harrassers are just hiding their malevolence under a fake facade of piety. If you have energy to Harras, it means that you are not fasting, but a secretly eating apostate. And a Muslim apostate is under the level of any eating non-Muslim according to ISLAM and even according to Prophet Muhammed himself!

If I were that woman, I would tell the Muslim that Allah had sent me to test him to see if he would fast even if the smell of food made him very tempted to break his fast.
