Read an old interview where Mike specifically said he uses pulse width modulation to achieve those sounds but that's all the detail he gave. Ive been doing similar using DS FM with envelope & LFO modulation.
@@hypnotictechnoproduction I have been using these techniques with different synthesizers and I have had some really incredible & powerful results. So far, I have done so with Massive, Razor & Carbon 2 from Native Instruments as well as Rob Papen's Predator. Being that every synth has it's own unique characteristics, the sounds are the same conceptually but the sonic results are so varied that there are endless possibilities to create.
Awesome video! To the point and easy to follow! Do you maybe know what kind of hardware synth would be able to achieve this? I guess it should be able to set pitch envelopes as wel as retrigger this with some kind of LFO? I'm still learning about synthesis but would be cool to jam with this sound hands-on :)
I'm really sorry, but I don't have much hardware and I can't help you with this topic. But don't worry! Classic old synths can handle it. In fact, lots of techno was made on the Korg MS-20, for example.
Been looking for this forever thank you!!!!
Thanks for the message, may this knowledge serve you!

Thank for the comment, I will try some synth with pulse mod and see what can I achieve.

Cheers, great video 😀
Wow that's very cool stuff1
i am gonna experiment with that
Thank you for the inspiration
Wow awesome.
Awesome Lead! yeah 🎉
Really great video on how to use the pitch parameter - I often forget that it's powerful for other stuff than drums 😅
Thanks for the comment, glad it helps.

Mike Parker is Mike Parker is Mike Parker ,) ...but it is well done with Ableton, merci
Interesting sound design from Mike's avant-garde sound!
