I ride these roads multiple times week - they are wonderful! So glad you could explore. The old building you referred to was an old school that was (in the last year) purchased by a private school, which is located in another part of the state with the intention of using this for an annex location.
Are you sh!ting me JOM?!? These are my go-to mixed surface roads! It’s so surreal watching you ride roads and recognizing every single clip. Your comment about the sting in the legs on those short climbs makes me feel a little better about my own difficulties on that exact spot. 😳
I’ve been watching you for sometime now, always entertaining, dry wit and informative Thankyou from the UK where we think we have gravel but being completely honest we don’t really!
Hi Simon, many thanks! I understand you have forest roads and track in some areas, that I hope aren't private. I have yet to visit the UK, but there is one event that has been on my list for over 15 years... www.threepeakschallenge.uk/three-peaks-cyclo-cross
Haha, man, that golf course definitely has some history. That is currently Trump's golf club, but previously it was the guy who owned Delorean's land. Great route! I've got about 10 killer routes in that area, one of my favorite to ride when I lived in NJ.
Should definitely be the theme song of every dog chase scene! The little bugger at the end was somewhere in Missouri. He was patiently waiting behind a bush to give chase.
Welcome to the northeast. Maybe give NW CT (near Sharon/Salisbury) a try since you’re (sorta) in the neighborhood? Lots of gravel and lightly traveled roads up there. Numerous good routes on ridewithgps.
Hi Gregg, thank you for the tips. I had to adjust this trip and head back to Florida soon after. However, I hope to return again in 2025, way overdue riding in the NE, a place I thoroughly enjoy.
@@GravelCyclist Iron Cross is the OG! I run MAMMOTH Endurance Gravel in May about 50 minutes drive straight north of Iron Cross's stomping ground. If you would like to give it a go I can hook you up with a free registration. The riding and delicious food included with the registration will knock your socks off. Keep riding, love watching these videos!
@@iamjamestheiv Thanks mate, I clearly need to do your event! Interesting fact. Iron Cross, so awesome, and so difficult, especially that effin Wig Wam hike a bike section... The heckling added to the fun, haha!
Those who have sharp eyes and a good memory would recognize Trek’s color scheme as the old Team Fisher colors. Fisher bikes or Gary Fisher bikes were owned at one time by Trek.
Wait until you see the next ride experience video... I was on the limit of the SRAM Red 13 Speed XPLR 1x... really could have used a 2x for this area of the country!!!
This is my backyard. I can’t believe you were here. So glad you enjoyed the route. Thanks for showcasing NJ. It does us proud.
An absolute gem, so stoked I finally got to ride out of Bedminster.

Thanks for chiming in concerning the building. Absolutely stellar area to ride!
Love that private road. The gates used to be closed and opened when you hit the button. Now always open.
You're in my backyard! It's beautiful riding!. Have fun!

The Garden State! A beauty. East Coast lovliness. Nice JOM!
Hey that's my neighborhood! Hope you enjoyed the ride. Thanks for visiting.
So stoked I finally got to ride in Bedminster, been on my to-ride list for years!
Love these roads. If you are looking for additional gravel, but rail trail Check out the Sussex Branch to Paunskill .
I grew up about a hour and a half from there I have not been there since 1973

LOL🥳ride this every weekend :) hope you loved it
I definitely enjoyed the ride and very quiet roads.

Can you share some of these routes, if possible. I'm new to NJ, I recently rode the Columbia Trail (nearby) --Thx
That's hilarious I did the same route 2 weeks ago
Killer route!
My home gravel....
And what splendid gravel it is!
… who let the dogs out? Would be very apt to play right about now! 😂😂😂

Hope you get a chance to check out Mohonk/Minnewaska not too far from these roads - definitely a premier gravel cycling spot in the area.
Next time, I had to cut this trip a little short, but thank you for the insights.
I didn't know NJ had those nice gravel roads.
I'd heard good things about Bedminster, so glad I finally got the chance to visit and ride!

If you want to try North Central PA out let me know. I live near the PA Grand Canyon near Wellsboro and can give you some amazing gravel routes!
Thank you! I have ridden the OG Iron Cross in Michaux State Forest, which was a serious test of one's skills.

I gotta make it out there I'm in Jersey City
Do it! Good luck!

Interesting, didn’t know that. Wish we got this color scheme in Europe, we only get the bronze SL7.
Home turf!
LOVED every mile / km!
Damn dude, what’s up with those shoes?!
You like? Gaerne made a USA edition many years ago, I purchased the MTB and Road variants.
What is your camera setup to do your filming of the rides? Thanks, Bob
Hello Bob, a simple GoPro 12 and skill riding one handed. I don't recommend the latter.
I was guessing the one handed filming! Although you do not recommend, your skill in doing it on gravel is amazing. Thank you.
👏👏👏👏👍🚴🏻♂️🇫🇷
Wait, wait, wait, wait, waaaaaait: how did you survive on a 1x ?????? ;-)

The golf course facility is Trump’s NJ golf course and home in Bedminster.
Thank you.
You can go through the golf course unless the Secret Service is there for the former president that owns that country club 🫤
Thanks for the tips!
